Moving to the University of British Columbia

Are you ready to be a Thunderbird at the University of British Columbia this fall semester? No one ever wants to look like a newbie so make sure you know everything there is to know about moving to the UBC in Vancouver before you load that moving truck!moving to university of british columbia

Moving In

First things first, moving into the dorms. Avoid the chaos of stuffed elevators and having to drag heavy boxes up flights of stairs by directly shipping your stuff through Collegeboxes. It will save you and your parents plenty of time (not to mention backaches) and you will have more time to say your teary goodbyes. You can also rent a moving truck at the U-Haul location in Vancouver nearest to you. Make sure that you have a printed map of the campus and drink plenty of water on move-in day!

Living on CampusMoving to British Columbia University

Most freshmen live on campus their first year to get the college experience of meeting new people and being close to classes and resources. If you decide to live on campus make sure to fill out an application form and keep yourself updated with their list of important dates.

Location

Regardless where you end up living on campus, UBC Vancouver’s location will not disappoint. The campus is surrounded by Vancouver’s largest park (800-hectares of forest) and the ocean! You can spend mild summers on the beach or hiking and winters skiing or snowboarding. On the weekends grab your new-found friends and head down to the University Village, which is the local organic grocery store, to stock up on healthy snacks for your busy school schedule.
