This summer, get creative with your grilling skills and try grilling some out-of-the-box foods. You might have seen the previous posts on grilling watermelon and bananas, but now it’s time for a citrus fruit to shine! Watch the video below to see how easy it is to make grilled grapefruit.
Preparing the Grapefruit
There’s a couple of ways you can choose to prep the grapefruit. You can slice the it in half and grill facing down for 2 – 5 minutes. Once it’s done, drizzle a little bit of honey or brown sugar over top and eat with a spoon. If you really enjoy the added flavor from grilling, cut the grapefruit into four pieces, so you have more than once side to grill. Keep in mind that because of the size of grapefruit, you won’t be able to use tongs to pick up the fruit. Instead, you can use a grilling glove to avoid burning yourself.
Grilled Grapefruit Verdict
As it turns out, grapefruit was born to grill! The citrus flavor combined with the sweet touch from the honey, blend effortlessly to make a healthy snack. You can decide to make this either before or after your main course, but remember you might not want to cook it after your vegetables or any other food that will alter the taste. Before you head out to your next BBQ, remember to fill up your propane take and pick up a couple of grapefruits!
