Originally named Todos Santos, Concord, California is the eighth largest city in the Bay area, lying just 29 miles northeast of San Francisco. Economy
Concord is primarily a “bedroom community,” meaning that its residents live there, but they commute to other major cities to work. Recently, however, employment within the city has risen. Companies like Chevron and Bank of America, which have strong corporate ties to the Bay Area, have established new operating facilities in Concord, revitalizing the economy. Some of the city’s top employers include Mt. Diablo Unified School District, Wells Fargo Credit Center, Chevron, Pacific Gas & Electric Company and the Bank of America Technology Center.
