Very personable staff when checking out. The only small problem was that the road that the location was on was closed for road work and we were not made aware of this. We had to drive about 15km out of our way to get to location from other side and then luckily, the construction workers removed pylons to let us get through. Not sure if this was forseeable or not but there were signs indicating road work for a few days so maybe we could have been given the option to chose another location?Ian K.

Please do a safety check on your vehicles before releasing. The truck we used on July 5 was low on oil, with oil warning light on before even leaving the yard and steering fluid was low well. We had to top these up prior to departure.Michael G.

The parking lot was solid ice....I was trying not to slip as I hooked up and unhooked the trailer. At previous locations I also had someone come out to ensure the trailer was hooked up correctly and in good, working order. This did not happen during hook up or un hooking.Denise S.

Closed early (3pm) on Saturday, no idea what the location is actually like. Driveway not ideal for having to back out and move a 26' truck to the other side of the building once learning the location was closed.Tyler T.

I had the pleasure to have Luke help me pickup my trailer, he is extremely helpful and friendly. I couldn't have asked for better service from him. As for the Charles St location in Kitchener, I am very upset and angry with the lack of knowledge/service I received there. I searched your website to purchase a ball mount for my hitch and the only location that had it in-stock was 35 km from my house. I drove all the way out there to purchase the ball mount and I asked the service guy if my hitch was setup properly for me to rent a 4X8 trailer from Uhaul. My hitch was installed 1 year ago at this Charles St location by Uhaul. He got under my vehicle and inspected the hitch and said it was ready to go for a trailer. He sold me the ball mount I needed as well. A few days later I went to pickup the trailer and the only location that had one in stock was in Ayr Ontario, and this location was also about 35 km from my house. When I got to the uhaul location to pickup my trailer, Luke helped me install it and he noticed my hitch was not able to tow a trailer as Uhaul on Charles St did not install any wiring on my hitch. I could not pickup the trailer because there was no wiring to hookup the brake lights and signal indicators. I was so mad and so disappointed. My family was waiting at home to go on vacation. I took all the necessary steps earlier that week to make sure this trailer pickup would go smoothe and quick. I was so so so mad and angry. Luke handled the situation great and told me to call UHaul to figure something out. He said I could comeback to pickup the trailer even after hours if I can get wiring installed. I called uhaul and the lady on the phone called the Charles St location in Kitchener. She said they would sell me a "quick do it yourself wiring kit". So I left Ayr Ontario to drive all the way to Charles St Kitchener Ont. I purchased the "quick do it yourself kit" and went outside in the parking lot to install it. Upon opening the package the first thing I read was "you will need 2 adults to do this (I was by myself) the next thing I read was "tools needed: drill, wire cutters, screwdrivers, etc I can't remember off the top of my head all the tools required. Regardless, I didn't have any tools with me and I was told on the phone I could do this outside in the parking lot quickly so I could go back to Ayr Ontario and pickup my trailer. As I read the instructions it was obvious this wasn't a "quick do it yourself kit" I was lied to. Nowhere on the packaging did it say "quick do it yourself". I quickly realized this was something that I could not do. I was in way over my head. No one without electrical experience could do this properly in the parking lot of uhaul. I was so angry, I went back into the store and told the guy my problem and it was the same guy that told me my hitch was ready to tow a trailer earlier that week. He understood my problem and apologized for his mistake not noticing there wasn't any wiring installed on my hitch. HeCorey P.

My problem was my initial booking with Valet Car Wash in Cambridge. The trailer lights did not work so I had lots of running around at the last minute to get a trailer. Not much help at all.Peter W.

Not have the agreed vehicle located half an hour out of town... that would be great. Especially since I lived one block from another uhaul. Perhaps offer a different vehicle that IS at the agreed location... so people don't need to borrow a car just to rent a truck.Jason T.

We phoned a month in advance of our moving day to reserve a truck and vehicle tow dolly. We received CONFIRMATION that the items requested were reserved. We phoned again as soon as the store opened (9:00am) the morning before the move to confirm, once again the reservation, pick up location and time. We were told we would get a call back "very shortly". Nearly EIGHT HOURS LATER (just prior to the rental location closing for the evening) we were told that there was not going to be a truck available for the next morning - our moving day. Outraged, we demanded they find us another truck, which they did, but we were expected to pick it up from where it was located - 1.5 hours away from where we lived, and in the opposite direction from where we were moving to. Despite their error and our inconvenience, the mileage to transfer the truck from the rental location to our house was initially going to be charged against our rental allowance, until we balked. This is the second time in 4 years that I've rented from U-Haul and a CONFIRMED RESERVATION was unavailable when expected. I WILL NEVER USE U-HAUL AGAIN, AND I ADVISE EVERYONE TO SEEK AN ALTERNATIVE.SUSAN C.

The service at this location was extremely poor. It took over an hour for me to get my rental truck (which I had pre-booked 18 days in advance) and I was the only customer in the store. The uhaul representative did not have a thorough understanding of billing, I was charged for a one-way rate when it would have been cheaper to bring the vehicle back to the location and pay the mileage (I suggested this option and he said his way would work out better for me, it did not). Since I agreed to a one-way trip I asked where I should drop the truck off. The uhaul representative gave me an intersection as an address and assured me that he had already called to make arrangements for me to drop the truck off later that evening. This was not true as this uhaul location no longer existed and I was forced to call customer service and find out where I could return the vehicle. Overall this was a terrible experience. I will never use uhaul services again, nor will I ever recommend their services to anyone else.DANIELLE G.

The Ayr location was not our confirmed pick up destination. After being told the trailer we had booked in Kitchener 4 weeks in advance was in an 'accident' the morning it was required, we were given no other option then driving around looking for an available truck/trailer. This process was anything but easy, watching other customers walk in and out with their rental available however we were given the advice to not book the weekend next time or that 90 minutes would give anyone enough time to find alternative arrangements. Thankfully the gentlemen in Ayr actually understood how much of an inconvenience this all was, seeing we had been directed to other locations where vehicles were promised but not available. If only all the UHaul agents were as friendly as him, I might actually consider booking your services again. It will never make sense to me that a booking can be confirmed, however not guaranteed. To make your customers drive around looking for another vehicle and providing no assistance or compassion is not how you run a business. I was 2 hours late in arriving to the elevator I had booked in my building to move out, forced to take a toll route as an inexperienced passenger became a driver seeing we were never meant to have a truck and arrived to our end destination 7 hours late when it would have taken 3. I have spent more money from the incident on your end with very little understanding from anyone I have spoken to. UHaul wasted our time, money and patience and I would highly encourage anyone moving to consider other services if they want things to run smoothly.SHANNON H.
This is not the whole story. Overall, extremely DISPLEASED with the treatment by U-Haul. We ordered a 5x8 cargo/closed trailer in Kingston for pick up in Kitchener on 25 April 2 weeks ago. It was confirmed by email at noon 25 April. Then at 5 pm 25 April a U-Haul representative called us to advise us that we were getting a 5x9 open trailer and was abrupt in telling us that was all that was available. When I ordered the trailer I wanted I physically pointed to the 5x8 closed trailer. We had to harangue your representative to search for another trailer nearby to suit our needs and fulfill the original booking/agreement and only by angrily demanding a rebate was a $50 rebate offered. He then found us another trailer in Ayr. Your representative in Ayr was the only one that treated us well and apologized while citing the mix up and other treatment as "typical". We never did receive drop off notification but looked on our own to find the U-Haul site in Norwich to deposit the trailer. Your representative in Norwich barely even acknowledged our presence, told us to drop the trailer in the lot without accompanying us and said a receipt would be emailed. 10 hours later, no email. This is poor and very rude treatment. Cannot fathom why things were mixed up but more importantly why we had to do all the work to fix it. This IS NOT CUSTOMER SERVICE. I expect follow up, a detailed explanation and an apology.CHRIS C.

Be sure to give your customers the products they requested. For example on November 24 I, tim requested furniture pads which should have been in the truck before I left. There were no such items in the truck.Tim A.
This was an alternate location to pick up the vehicle I had booked in advance. The operator of this location was very nice but picking up from this location added an hour and a half to my day. Given the close proximity to Kitchener I feel the truck should have been made available in Kitchener.MARK R.

I'm extremely dissapointed in UHaul Corporate. For example ,Uhaul Traffic neglected to advise us that the AYR location was closed today. That was totally unacceptable! However, Ayr employee "LUKE" went beyond the call of duty to open for us. Kudos to him. The truck front end alignment was so bad, I would consider it unsafe to drive. Absolutely the worst riding Uhaul I've ever driven! Also, the mirror was not functional. Lastly,it would have been courteous to have started with a full tank of gas. If it starts full its easy for customers to return it full. Instead, we ended up wasting preciuos time by having to fill twice. Our guess resulting in us putting in about $30 more gas than we received. The Brampton U-haul staff basically just laughed at me & never offered any compensation.Robert L.
