Brake lights didn't work

This is by far my best experience with U-Haul. They made the process seamless.

Place was dirty, very congested to pull into parking, and on my move the day before my required drop off they called me saying it was supposed to be dropped off a day earlier. I said no i was told on the 18th by 1:15 pm (*not the 17th). Then the fellow on phone argued with me and claimed i woudl be charged a penalty. At drop off he told me the mileage charge was $39 and on my credit card i was charged $77, again adding to my frustration with Uhaul as a whole. I will not recommend or use UHaul again. Sorry.

The agent/employee never came outside to help me unload my car from the auto hauler. I was left trying to manoeuver a 26’ truck plus auto hauler in a parking lot that too small to turn around in. He did not help me park the trailer, did not inspect the truck. He was working in a room completely out of sight of the front door. I had to wait for him to come out. He handed me a piece of paper showing a charge for extra 120 kms and told me to call the renting office if I had any questions. Then he or someone else called me to say they could not find the key! The place was disorganized - and the employee was totally distracted by something in the other room. I checked my vehicle, bags and do not have it. It was a regular key on a large U-haul tag that I put on the counter console after locking the truck

I reserved a 10 foot truck and was told 2 days before there were none so upgraded to a 15 foot. It was much too large and I had to lay mattresses down to take up enough room that other things wouldn’t slide around. It was raining and water came in under the back door and my daughter’s mattress got very wet. Truck was very bumpy and not easy to drive versus the 10 foot.

trailer assigned had problems with the trailer lights. (found a broken pin on the connector). This should have been inspected prior to assigning out again. Did not inspire confidence. Took some time for clerk to make arrangements for a replacement causing some delays (paying movers by the hour) but managed to get back on schedule quickly. The replacement equipment worked well, without incident. Parking was tight. Trailer was positioned such that it took several turns to get reoriented.

The trailer was nice..it had 2 marker lights that needed attention. But nothing for me to worry about..its a wonderful unit for moving my stuff around..and yes I will be renting it again when I have the need for it..thank you so much..have a great day

The location opens at 8am but no one was there. The building was locked and lights off. Someone finally arrived at 9:15am. The truck was buried in a snow drift. No window scrapper. The vehicle was dirty, with dirty rag in the dashboard, dirt everywhere and coffee stains over the console. The environmental controlled did not work. Had to drive with the window down to prevent fogging during the winter.

Ramp didn’t come out. Was a really tough day. Messed up a lot of things and had to leave stuff behind because of it. Was a lot more dangerous

The truck was full of ice which is against the law to drive like that. One of the windows was open and the truck was full of snow and ice. There were leftover boxes from whomever used it. The moving blankets that we requested were not available. Overall a horrible experience

To start, the location was to open at 9:00am and they didn't even show up until 9:07. Myself and another customer were waiting - I expected my vehicle at 9am. When I got the truck, there was no windshield washer and the window was quite dirty. I just had to drive like that. There was also a warning on the dashboard about "low right tire pressure". Why were both of these not corrected before pick-up? I mentioned them to the location when I returned it, but they didn't seem to care (no apology). Aside from that the truck drove fine.

I had Uhaul call to be sure that the clerk at this location could assist me with unhitching. I was assured they could and had to travel further to get to this location for help. The ENTIRE lot and and drive was a sheet of ice and the clerk not only couldn't/wouldn't assist with unhitching, but he belittled me for not being comfortable in backing up the trailer to park it where he wanted it parked. He left me stranded in the back parking lot. It wasn't until I was approached BY ANOTHER CUSTOMER, who was asked by the clerk to come help me, that we managed to get the trailer unhitched. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE customer service on the part of Uhaul AND this establishment.

Open the store when it is listed. Answer the phone when it rings. Enable the answering machine so the customers can leave a message. Explain the procedures before the customer accepts the vehicle and leaves the lot. I recieved two receipts for the rental and they were $20 different. I was charged twice the amount of miles the I actually drove. Never have I experienced such shady service. I will never recommend this business again and I will warn anyone that they should be careful booking with them

The truck drove rough, the cargo area wasn't very clean and had stuff left from previous users, and I lost an hour and a half of move time because: a) I reserved for 8:00am, no one called until the night before saying oh, by the way the location doesn't open until 9:00am. b) staff didn't arrive until 9:15-9:20am, we were at least 5 others waiting out in the cold for buddy to open up This is the last time I rent a U-Haul from this location.

What started out as an economical way to move a few pieces of furniture turned into an $80 expense. Why did I need extra insurance? Misleading for sure. Vehicle was entomed in a few feet of snow and ice. Windshield washer not working. Very stressful and bad experience. Never again.

Trailer was muddy inside and smell like cow shit!!!!! Had to put down tarps and tarp over my stuff!!! Lights kept flickering after I left…. I fixed the bad ground no big deal it happens right!! Got home open the trailer and boom dirt and mud and cow shit…..was gonna call and freak out but needed the trailer made do with the situation….staff didn’t even check to see if it was hooked to truck right!! Came out looked at the lights went inside.

Ordered a 15’ truck for 9am, get there 10 minutes early and had all the online portions done before the 9am pickup time. Go inside to get the key and there isn’t a single person in the store and the doors are locked. After a 15 minute wait a worker strolls in over an hour after the store opens and seems completely lost on the fact that I had a truck booked for 9am. Then it took me another 15 minutes to remove all the snow and ice from the truck because it wasn’t ready for me at all.

When i arrived at pick up time one hour after they were supposed to open no one was there. I called customer service and they said they called the manager who was now there. I had to pay my movers and extra hour causing me a ton of extra expenses. I called customer service to get a resolution and they ended up hanging up on me with no call back. I will NEVER be using U-haul again and I will recommend to friends and family that they also never use it. Terrible customer service.

My enclosed trailer was covered in muddy slush and the inside had a bottom cover of snow. The clerk did sweep it out when we complained. The 6X12 trailer is extremely heavy to dead lift from the ground to the trailer ball height and should have a trailer jack at the front, and of course, there is no help from any staff. I wrenched my back lifting it. which made the rest of the moving I had to do that day very uncomfortable. So in the end I had a dirty, snowy trailer, with no trailer jack or staff assistance and a painful day moving.

At pick up, I was not informed that I was putting down a $125 deposit, which was fine in the end, but is definitely something the attendant ahould have mentioned. I also had to figure out on my own what type of gas is used in your trucks and wasn't told until I returned that they required a photo os the gas guage and speedometer. These are all minor things, but after a full day of moving, even a minor inconvenience can set a person off. I would suggest that all attendants give a person all the info they require at the beginning of the transaction. The evening attendant was great.

I had booked my vehicle at Hwy 11 North and when I went to pick up my vehicle, there was know one at that facility. That is when I called the U-Haul 1800 number, after 15 minutes. They informed me that the reservation was at the Lakeshore facility and not Hwy 11 North. I waste valuable time, people were waiting for me, to help with the move. The people at Lakeshore were awesome, great service.

The Van was not clean. It smelled like garbage with lots of dog hair. I believe someone moved garbage in this van earlier and the employees didn’t clean it. I’d ask for a refund for this one because it didn’t serve my purpose well. I will never even attempt to book a uhaul from this location.

This location had one staff member , cooking food for a take out business , running a variety store . I had to wait to sign out the truck but upon drop off , I had to wait while staff was cooking and serving orders. Running the cash at variety store . Staff then claims truck didn’t have bough gas in it, so I had to go back to gas station for more gas . My move was less then 10 Kms . Terrible service location . I called head office and I was given a credit of 1.34 Wow She also sent me a $20.00 gift certificate for haul . Never again will I use u haul . She says I can use the certificate for propane but the closest propane is 100 miles from my postal code . Simply unexceptable

I was told by the Blyth man I could drop it off in North Bay We phoned the gentleman at North Bay told him we’re we picked it up and we like to drop it off there he said yes we could When we dropped it off he charged me $628.00 plus tax my bill came to &732.24 The gentleman had very bad BO No a very happy customer Linda Dickson

Truck was rough. Glad we didn’t need to travel on highway. Also booked 10ft weeks ago and UHaul changed to 15ft and I was assured price would be same $19.95 for day. At checkout, of course overcharged ($29.95). Had to call for refund.

So I made my reservation for a 20 foot truck and an appliance dully. I called to book and called again to confirm everything was in order for my move day. I arrived and the young man behind the counter told me I booked a 26 foor truck I assured him I did not. Go goes on to argue with me so I pull up my reservation stating clearly I booked a 20 foot truck. He then tells me he dosent have a 20 foot truck. I told him.my driver can nit drive a 26 foot truck it's to large and I'm only moving an apartment it's way to big. He then prosseded to tell me there is nothing he can do. After alot of back and forth I convince him to rent me a 15 foot truck as I'm just a in town move he then tells me I can but I can only have it for 5 hours. I booked my truck for 12 hours. So now I have a smaller truck and half the time to complete my move. If things could get worce they did. Then he brings out the dully and it's not an appliance dully at all its a utility dully. Meant for boxes not appliance. At this point I'm almost in tears and is like this is not the dully I booked and I get well to bad this is all we have. I'm so frustrated at this point I just grab it and leave. I then call uhaul and they tell me there is 1 appliance dully in the hole city and it's half way out of town. Now I have no time to move and go get the dully I reserved at this other dealership considering my move time was cut over half. Then they tell me if I go get this dully I have to return it to the other dealership put of town and can't drop it off with the uhaul. I'm furious at this point. So I don't go and get it and some how manage to pull it off being told I would be credited for the dully. I go to return the truck and the dealership and they didnt want to grant me the discount the uhaul granted me and then a second disagreement started. They eventually did honer the agreement between me and uhaul and I left. I never want to use this dealership again. Not only that but they were super unprepared for my move even tho I called. If the dealership didn't have the rented equipment they should not have taken the contract. Definitely felt like they were trying to swindle me for more money then I had and I'm a person moving on a budget. There was really no excuse for the lack of professionalism I was met with or the negligence of the staff at this location. Never using this dealership again. Please deal with your ppl as this was a scam.

I ordered the truck for 7am. However I couldn't receive the truck until 8am because uhaul didn't notify me that their store opens at 8. So I had to wait an hour! While having movers who were helping me ALSO wait an hour doing nothing.
