I returned the truck at 4 PM instead of 3 PM because the landlord at my new place wouldn't let me in the house until later than anticipated so I was charged for a full extra day. Seems a bit excessive and felt taken advantage of. Will probably not use again.Braden S.

The rental process was extremely tedious. The account executive had to restart the process multiple times taking nearly 30 minutes to complete. When I arrived on site my account had apparently been flagged. The manager of the operation directed me to an 800 number. He said it was likely a non-issue, or an unpaid toll. Together, we waited on the line for 35 minutes. At the end of the day, there was a notation that on a previous rental I had to return the trailer late, which, according to that account executive notes, was deemed to be incorrect information as I actually returned it early. The U-Haul location I rented from was nearing closing, and was going to be unable to rent me the trailer until he was satisfied the issue was resolved. I do not blame the rental location management, but U-Haul for this ridiculous waste of my time. At no time during the reservation process, or the pick up process, was the issue brought to my attention. It left an extremely bad taste in my mouth and I would be highly unlikely to use U-Haul unless it was a last resort.BRUCE A.

This wasn't the places fault. I rented the truck to tow a trailer back from my shop. The trailer lights didn't work on the truckâ€¦â€¦ I was an hour away. I had battery powered trailer lights to make it work but still a big inconvenience will be calling uhaul for a reimbursement or some extra free miles on my next rental.Justin G.

My wife and I rented a 15 foot truck to move our son from Pennsylvania to Virginia. I can honestly say I feared for my life as we were going down I 95 due to the lack of maintenance on the truck. You could turn the steering wheel 4 to 5 inches before the wheels would turn. Imagine being in between two tractor trailers on I 95 and you're fighting to keep the truck in the lane. In addition, there was no windshield washer fluid, the cab was dirty with lollipop sticks on the floor and the cab reeked of cigarettes. There is definitely something wrong with the drivetrain as well â€“ there was a loud clanking and other noises coming from the driveshaft area. Having been a mechanic in a past life, I know this truck has not been maintained well. It is obvious the wheels have not been pulled in quite some time as all the lugs were rusted to the point where it looks like maybe a year or more has gone by without the wheels being pulled. It has 103,000 miles on it and should be put out to pasture immediately. The guy in the office admitted that UHaul does a poor job at best for maintaining the vehicles at that location. How dare UHaul allow me and my wife to take a trip of 300 miles in a vehicle that is totally unsafe.glenn T.
