I originally specified a different location for pick up and drop off - not only because the area of town is not safe at night, but also because the staff there is extremely unhelpful. I initially set my pick up to be in person, with the help of staff member. Upon my arrival at 4:30 the doors were locked so I called the store. A man answered and said his employee is taking her lunch and that I should just complete the pick up through my phone - which I expressly did NOT select. He was rude to me the whole phone call and neglected to explain the security deposit, while also trying to upsell me. Through my reservation, I also selected an appliance dolly for $15, which was not in the van. When I called, he told me I did not reserve one and after some arguing he reluctantly refunded me the $15. This location is awful, the staff is unhelpful and never on site. I will never recommend this location to anyone.

Janice SI am writing to dispute a charge of $167 associated with a recent rental experience with U-Haul. Although I was quoted $67 for the service, additional fees including fuel were added. Specifically, I refueled the vehicle with $20 worth of gas at a local station and returned it promptly after a 7.6-mile round trip. I have confirmation from the location and corporate office regarding the vehicle's return. Could you please provide clarification regarding the discrepancy in the amount charged to my card? Because what ya but on invoice is BULL SHIT. Everything else was easy to reserve the truck, this location had every size vehicle at time, must have a major credit card, and the returned was simple. BUT THEY OVER CHARGE MY CARD!!! and waiting for a email response before I call the bank.
La'Nika HThe van I rented had a brake fault and a warning alarm that went off constantly through my use of the van. The facility was dirty. The person I dealt with (owner/staff member) spent the whole time on his cell phone and treated me like I was imposing on his time. I was overcharged.

JAELYN SThe facility office was closed upon arrival at 845a despite being advertised as open. The facility operator seemed agitated with three customers waiting upon his arrival. The store was very large but extremely dark, cluttered, and housed many items unnecessary to the business. The store lot was very small and had not place for equipment return. The store helper appeared to be a transient man that was in clean, unshaven, long haired, wearing heavily soiled clothes. It was very uncomfortable to get into the business parking lot- once we got in to the store we were concerned something was going to come out of the clutter. And the interaction between the store operator, store helper and customers made the entire experience very unpleasant. I would not recommend this location.

James AFilthy truck. Had to clean the flem, snot, found what I think was a drug pipe inside. Absolutely filthy in the cab. 1.19 rate per mile was not told to me when I asked. It was estimated at 200 dollars he said. Final total was over 325. Terrible location with too small of a lot and my personal car was parked on sidewalk beside building so I finished with truck in less then 10 hours to come back and get my car. Absolutely overcharged compared to when I told him over 250 miles. He told me just about 200 dollars. Snot on glass in filthy car I was disgusted and not not sure why it was so expensive. Never getting U-Haul again after getting U-Hauls a lot in past.

I couldn’t bring the keys back for a couple days so I was charged with all the days of the rental which I totally understand but I shouldn’t have been charged for the insurance coverage or the mileage because the truck never left I 175. All I got back was $12 and I haven’t got that much yet. I think I should be reimbursed the charge of the Insurance and the mileage.
SUSAN WThis place was great but hey did not have the trailer I reserved. So for $100 more I got what they had. Two miles down the road we had a flat tire. Rather than jumpng through all of the /u-Haul hoops and waiting for hours to have it fixed, we did it ourselves.

Benjamin GI scheduled a pickup for a moving truck at 10:30am, and specifically selected clerk check-in because I’ve found U-Haul’s self check-in process to be confusing in the past— but on arrival, there was a sign on the door that said they were out and would be back in 30 mins. We called the phone number on the sign, and the man on the line said he’d be back in 20-30 and accused us of scheduling last minute, which we did not; the reservation was made four days prior. Check-in time was chosen based on a scheduled appointment to pick some things up at 11:00AM, so we stressed this to him, which prompted him to change his estimate return to 10-15 mins. We waited 30 minutes for this man, only for him to call and proceed to walk us through self checkin. He had us open two lock boxes that were empty, and then said he'd upgrade us to a bigger truck with no extra fee, as if he was doing us a favor when we had already been waiting 30 minutes past our scheduled check-in. He still hadn't returned, mind, so I'm wondering why he didn't do this for us in the first place. Thankfully the people waiting on us were understanding, but we were on a time crunch and this setback was beyond frustrating and extremely negligent.
Brittnee CAlthough Mark was friendly, he arrived 45 minutes late for work the day we wanted to pick up the 15' truck. Additionally, he explained and apologized that he did not setup the Mobile Pickup because he was distracted by a demanding customer the day before. The unit we ended up with could have used a wash, but not bad. It still had a trailer attached to it and we had to point this out so Mark could disconnect. The inside of the cargo box was wide open and had several leaves/debris inside...it had not been swept out. I was surprised to see there was less than half a tank of gas, but I suppose this is not uncommon. The most egregious issue with Mark was he told us we could drop off the unit at any UHaul location in the Chicago area. This was false. During Chicago rush hour traffic, we went to the closest location to our destination only to be told there was no room. The young man was kind enough to change our drop-off to a much larger facility about 30 minutes away, again in Chicago rush hour traffic.
MICHAEL SLet us know when the second rental would not be available. We drive 40 minutes to find out that only one of the two rentals would be available for us to rent. As a small business owner, we lost money from this inconvenience. We took our business elsewhere where and rented a vehicle from them.

He was on the phone with people running his mouth, had people waiting a long time outside while he took his precious time coming back from lunch. After I told him to come on and stop playing with people’s time, I guess it made him mad. So he resulted to yelling at me, he threatened me basically saying he would do something to me. Because “he’s big in the city” whatever that meant. Completely unacceptable. No employee or owner of a business should ever talk to or treat a customer the way he does. I wouldn’t recommend going here if his janky tail still working there. But the truck was great!
Sydnii RI previously gave a review about my experience, however they corrected the error and reimbursed me the money. Troy was pleasant and admitted the error was on their end. I would recommend renting from them and asking for Troy.
Tracey NLocation is in downtown Louisville where most of the homeless populate, and the building itself is on a corner across from a popular gas station so the area can be a bit congested but OVERALL the owner &/or person who runs it (foreign man) is very nice and accommodating. I was supposed to have the truck 2-3 days max and got into an accident the second day renting which put a hold on me moving my house for a couple days. Although I didn't initiate having the truck nearly a week he was extremely understanding, he let me keep the truck until I was finished. He trusted me with his equipment even when we were not in contact. For that and the politeness & professionalism from the African American gentleman who retrieved the truck- I would recommend the location every time. The truck wasnt clean upon pickup so my only recommendation as a customer would be for them to double check them after customers return them. I left it clean and sanitized❤️ Thank you to this location for all the help!
