Worst experience I ever had with UHaul. The truck was apparently not checked in properly from the previous renter. We were an hour and a half late getting there, but we called and let them know we would be. They rented the truck to somebody else, who thankfully didn't show. The owner of the store rented the truck to me, for more than I was quoted, because we couldn't get UHaul to do it. In fact, UHaul's moronic decision was to send me 100 miles north of where I was to pick up another truck, when I was looking at the truck I needed. I had to call three different times, and wait for somebody to pick up. When they finally got me to a manager, some idiot named Jennifer, her solution was for me to drive to the 100 mile away location, or wait until they saw if they could find me another truck. It is not likely I will rent from UHaul again. It is VERY likely I will tell everybody I know about my experience. It was abysmal. Nobody offered a discount, nobody apologized, nothing. If not for the store owner doing me a favor, I might not have even gotten a truck. A package store with no supplies and only one employee on duty is noplace to rent out trucks from, by the way. But even at that, the owner was 100 times more helpful than anybody from UHaul. The local UHaul manager was on vacation, and didn't even have anybody on duty to handle issues while he was gone. Just a total screw-up, from top to bottom. Pitiful really.James L.

This was the worst experience I've had with moving moving and using this company. The truck was not at the original location outlined in email. I had to drive 30 miles to discover that the truck wasn't there. Then, I had to drive 40 miles in the opposite direction to pick up another truck. Next, I had to drive 30 miles opposite of that location to pick up the car towing. I had to pay extra money to loading movers for being late. After getting packed, I wasn't able to make it to my destination by the original scheduled time. I was scheduled to be in TX at 8am the next morning. Due to the inconvenience, I was not able to move into my new apartment before they closed. I had to spend the night on the uhaul until the following morning. I did not have additional funds to purchase a hotel. Any emergency funds I would have had was spent on the additional time the loading movers had utilized to get things packed due to the time conflict. The next day, i had to reschedule another moving date and time with the unloading crew in TX. I had to pay additional money for missing my original appointment due to the time inconvenience imposed by uhaul company. During the process of trying to rectify the situations I spent approximately 5 hours total in wait time to speak to a customer service representative. I filed a complaint and was told I'd hear from a representative with 48 hours. It is now 72 hours later and to no avail. I have greatly inconvenienced in time and financially.Orlando W.

But no one was ever there or answered the phone when i called.I went to return a one way there and had the same experience.Not getting an answer or no one being there. I was sent to three different locations to pick up a truck. I had to Uber to each. What a hassle. Will not ever use U Haul again. You were a good company at one time, not now.Mark D.
My only suggestion would be to designate and mark spots on the ground for people to know where the general drop off location is. I was forced to return my moving truck well after open store hours and had to make my best guess at an appropriate parking spot. Other than that, great experience and easy to locate the office/key drop off box. Would recommend again.Michael D.

Had to cancel my first reservation in the morning that I made so that set us back on the moving schedule, the website said to arrive at 9:30 to pick up my truck but there wasn't even a truck there for me. So then I had to find a location that had one, closest was Calera, I get there and the guy claims he doesn't have the key to it and doesn't know where it's at. I wait for 10 minutes and he says well let's walk around there and check again. We get back there and he tugs on the lock barely and it falls off, with the truck key inside. Not the best experience I've had with U-Haul, cost me $63 to fill the tank with fuel as well.Ethan L.
This location was a gas station/food mart. The clerk stopped taking care of my check-in five times in order to sell soda, beer, and tobacco products. That paired with the clerks lack of experience with UHAUL's system took over thirty minutes to check the truck in.MICHEAL H.
Have better equipment as far as checking out the equipment. The tablet would not let her go to the next screen and therefore had to call for them to do it over the phone if you call for a truck all,tge information should be done all they would need to do is take the payment when they show up and they have a time frame to cancel there transaction. UHaul has disappointed me in every way. From delaying me loading my truck. Which caused me to return a day late or miss my work day and loosing even more money. Then cost me $40 for extra day plus $14 for extra insurance. Disgraceful business practice to make more money. Shame on you all!!!!TAMMY C.

Windshield was dirty on the inside in the line of sight. They did not have a hand truck that I paid for to use. There system was "down" and it took almost an hour to get the truck. Then come to find out they gave me the wrong truck, so I was charged 160 for wrong destination, not returning the dolly (which I never got) gas fee and after hours drop off when I returned it to an open Uhual location.Sandy K.
This entire process was a nightmare. I have rented uhauls several times over the last 2 years and never had such a terrible experience! From setting it up and constantly being put on hold so the woman could check out customers at the gas station to then going to pick up the uhaul and a different woman had no clue how to go through the Ipad process to check out. When we got home the uhaul had broken glass and plant leaves/branches all through out. I had to clean the uhaul prior to loading my furniture in it. We returned the uhaul at 5:00 that evening and my husband handed the key to a manager who then checked out the truck. The next day (Sunday) I get a call from the original woman who I set up the rental with and she said that the manager forgot to check in the uhaul the day prior so it looked like we had kept it over night. She was trying to correct that in the system while I sat on hold and waited. She then was telling me of an additional charge of $90 that needed to be made. I asked her to go through all the charges with me and she now mentioned a charge for insurance. I told her I never wanted the insurance and she told me that was a requirement. I told her I already had a charge on my account that had processed for $77 and I didn't want another charge of $90 on top of that so i would need to verify with my bank that the $77 was a hold charge and call her back on Monday. She said that was fine and then next thing I get is an email from Uhaul saying she charged my account $12 which would equal the $90. These people clearly dont understand Uhaul or it was extremely frustrating to work with this location and I will never work with them again. I will either use another company or find a different uhaul location. They are not representing your company in a positive/professional way!!Heather M.

I first called the turn in location to find out their location.The employee could not speak English enough to help.Thru maps I finally found them in a seedy area.It took an hour while waiting for him to be on the phone with his boss to understand how to complete the return.I won't be using them again !Jerry C.

The Merchant at this location could not speak English, his tablet was broken and he was unable to professionally represent U-Haul. It took five phone calls to get the truck. Upon returning the truck customer service wanted me to turn around and drive it to another location and again there was nobody available to check the truck in with me. 2 Days Later multiple phone calls from me trying to resolve and close the contract no one has the courtesy to call me and they close the contract and overcharged medebra H.
The vehicle was dirty, there was sticky residue all over the cup holders and dash, it was covered in mud inside, there was trash in the glove box, and it was clearly never cleaned. Additionally, I did the online pickup so I could get my truck early in the morning. After getting the key and going to the truck it was so disgusting that I went inside and bought Lysol wipes and proceeded to clean the cab out. While cleaning it, after completing my order, the man who worked at the location who gave me the key came out and accused me of trying to steal the truck. He called another man from another location to come over there. They then both proceeded to tell me I was lying that I had not actually rented the uhaul and I was not in the system. Finally, the second guy figured out he couldn't find me in the system because I had already completed the pickup and rented the uhaul. The entire situation was terrible. Then, if that wasn't enough, the truck didn't drive correctly, the transmission was shot and I had to manually shit the entire move. But I didn't figure out how to shift without the truck violently shaking until about 20 miles into my move, so it broke a ton of my stuff that was loaded in the back.Kathryn S.
