Reservation details were incorrect - reservation was for one way drop off, but it kept coming up for a local usage. I had to repeat same information too many times. Overall, UHaul process was poor. I entered an online reservation that did not stick. I repeated process on phone when I called to verify my reservation only to be told it didn't exist. Day before pick up received a call that my reserved truck size was not available and I had been down-sized. Later that day told that the dolly and moving blankets I had reserved would not be available. All of this was very stressful when coordinating a distance move. On the good side, I was given a few extra miles because my pick up was further away than I had reserved and I was finally able to pick up my truck the afternoon before my actual reservation. This was good since my original reservation was for a 9am pick up and when I was down-sized my pick up time had been pushed back to noon.Paula T.

Inconvenient pickup arrangement. Ordered an appliance dolly with my truck and it was missing. Couldn't get ahold of anyone at the location to fix the problem and I was still charged for the damn dolly!!!!Michael O.

Hire someone that knows how to process the transaction. I spent time reserving the truck and entered information into the app so that I could bill a different card than the one that I used to hold the truck. They charged the one I didn't want charged. He sold us insurance that we had rejected in the reservation and now I have to fight to get that money back. I will not use that provider again.terry B.

This Uhaul rental was the worst customer service experience I have ever had. The actual pick up and drop off location personnel were great but the 1-800 customer service support and management were horrible! They cancelled my online order and appointment to pick up the truck because they said I didn't show up to the location on time but THEY changed my pick up location and did not notify me! So after showing up at the location where I thought I was supposed to pick the truck up and trying to figure out what was going on, I called the 800 number and got a reservation manager names Paige on the phone and she was uncaring and non helpful even though they were the one that cancelled my reservation! She gave me a take it or leave it attitude of driving an additional two hours to go get another truck because they already rented the one I reserved out to someone else. So then I called the District Manager Tony and he never even bothered to call me back. So I was left stuck with no other options trying to rent a one way truck to San Diego because no other company had anything available and I had already made major and costly plans that I could not change. Uhaul says "We are always looking to improve our service or give credit where credit is due." Well what a joke that is. I contacted them to complain and they offered me a lame $25.00 credit on my next rental but it had to be used within 1 year. They suck and don't care about the customer. They tried to use the excuse that my online contact info preference was via text and the phone number was wrong but they never contacted me in any other manner even though they said that I was supposed to receive a confirmation email. The service person was new at the job. When help was required the owner of the franchise refused any help. The manager / owner of the Chevron station told his new employee "there is nothing. He could do to help." The manager / owner told me, a senior citizen, retired American River College drafying professor l, "He was off duty and could not help me." My experience was very poor customer service. The 15' van had only 1/8 of a tank of gas, it was filthy and the right side windshield wiper blade was cutting into the glass.ken D.

Nobody was there to rent out the truck, took almost 3 hours. Truck was out of fuel and so dirty I could not see through the windshield. Also, there was a broken part of the box left lying on the inside for me to deal with. Bottom line, it was not any fault of u-haul, rather the sub contractor. I was informed that he has been in business for 3 years, I give him 2 more at the most before he fails at this. U-HAUL should do something about his shady business ethics.Brian R.

We originally requested our pickup in Placerville and instead were relocated to Pollock Pines. Staff was not helpful nor were they trained. When they called the manager he refused to speak with us and said he would be there in about 45 minutes. We ended up being delayed by at least 1 hour. Quick in and out. Friendly, kept truck a little longer than I ask for with no extra charge. Only thing and not just to nitpick they should keep the gas tank on full so when you return the truck you don't over fuel the truck I put an extra 1/4 of a tank, IAM sure u haul would of fixed the problem but I should of payed more attention. 10 out of 10 great job definitely returning customer.Derick B.

First of all, we picked this location because we were told they would "definitely" have a 10' truck, which is all we needed. The day before we went to pick it up, you did not have a 10' truck. You offered a bigger one at the same price, but we didn't want a bigger one. The 10 footer was too big already. Then every time I went to use the emergency brake, I thought it was going to come off in my hand. Not happy.Gladys R.

Employee was rushed and unfriendly. He also moved the truck so it was parked downhill as to trick me into putting more fuel in the tank. I had just filled up the vehicle 1/2 mile away on a FLAT surface. Would never want to do business at this location again.Daniel S.
I was in charge of booking the UHaul for a team/group function, so I did not visit either the pick up or the drop off location. However, I am very displeased with my overall experience with UHaul. Even though I reserved my truck a month in advance, there were no trucks of any size available on the day that I had reserved, so we had to drive to a location that was an hour away. Since I wasn't the one who would be driving the UHaul, I did not go with the driver; I therefore had to add him to the reservation so that he could pick up the truck without me. This required approximately a 40-minute phone call, during which I was transferred several times to a number of people who did not know what to do. Similarly, despite being told over the phone that I could pay in advance and could register for 24/7 pickup using the UHaul website, there was no option to do either of these things on my account. I was also told that the pickup location could set up 24/7 pickup for me; however, when I called the pickup location, they stated that they did not know what I was talking about and were not responsible for this task. I had to call UHaul customer service three times before 24/7 pickup was actually set up, and it took me another hour-long phone call on a separate occasion in order to obtain my receipt. Finally, when the driver arrived at the pickup location, pickup was anything but easy. He had trouble starting the online self-pickup process because the process had apparently already been started in the process of obtaining a receipt. Then, the agent at the desk refused to give him the key until he placed yet another phone call to UHaul customer service. As far as I know, everything went smoothly after that, but I was not expecting it to be this difficult to obtain the truck. I will be looking into other agencies the next time I need this type of rental. However, I will say that if the truck had been available at the date and location at which I had requested, none of these problems would have occurred, and I would probably have had a much better customer experience.Lauren S.
The lady behind the counter was very nice and friendly but her manager, was a real pain to work with. Apparently, he had taken the check in/out equipment and was not at the drop off location. He was unwilling to check me in until the following day. I just made sure that I was not charged for an additional day of use. There was a couple in front of me who had reserved a truck and was picking up and the manager had told his employee to have them come back tomorrow! They HAD A RESERVATION! Uhaul guaranteed that they could pick up and the manager did not want to let them...said to tell anyone picking up or dropping off Uhaul trucks that they were closed. Horrible!Andrea A.

The guy that owns the store at this location was horrible..I brought the U-Haul back and I was in line like everyone else and when it was my turn he started my return process then continuously told me to step aside so that he can help his customers first before U-Haul customers..when the customers were done he continued on my return process, then more customers came in to buy gas or cigarettes or whatever and he told me to step aside so that he can help them....after over 1/2 hour and approximately 22 customers that I stepped aside for I told him I'm a paying customer too and you should finish my return..he said he's taking his customers first before U-Haul customers..one customer in line flipped him off and told me good luck...I told him to give me back my credit card and I'm returning it somewhere else and I was going to contact U-Haul about him...he told me he doesn't care and I can tell whoever I want to. He was the rudist person I've ever met and he was only concerned about HIS customers and could care less and U-Haul customers...I would never step foot in this location again..MAUREEN F.

I rented a truck on Saturday morning for 1 day. My requested drop off was for Placerville but I was sent a text to return it in Pollock Pines, which is further away. I arrived on time with the truck within the 24 hours of renting it but when I arrived, I was told no one was onsite to help me with the uhaul and the owner wouldn't be there until 12 pm. I could not wait 4 hours for him to arrive so I left a copy of the contract and the key to the truck and was told he would call me when he got in and it could be handled over the phone. I never received a call at all on Sunday. On Monday, I received a receipt with a charge for an additional day of rental when the truck has been sitting at their facility and they have had the key. I also spent $50 to fill the tank back up to where it was when I got it and he charged me for $17 for more fuel, which is completely false. I tried to call again and was told the owner wasn't in yet again and left my phone number. This is extremely poor service to not call a customer back and then charge an additional $75 for no reason.Melissa G.

worst experience ever. When they tried to hook up the tow dolly, it was like they had no experience, and almost ran into another uhaul trailer. I told them they had no chance to get the truck and tow dolly out without hitting anything. Then they tried to get me to do it and I told the main guy "No Way!!" "I'm not gonna do something you cant and I know wont work!" It this time the main guy got irritated and got in the moving truck to do it himself. This is where the worst service and total disregard for uhaul and uhaul equipment began. The irritated man backed the truck up after several failed attempts and after being told there was no way he would get it out. he just backed into the trailer which I got 2 videos. The first is after he hit the trailer 1 first time and he told me it was ok cause I had full insurance. That's why you hear me say I believe them but wanted to have proof it wasn't me. Then he did it again but worse. That's the second video. This is where the shadiness comes. He still says the big scratch wasn't anything because I had insurance. I ask him to please document the accident on my paperwork and once again he said it was not needed due to my insurance. This dude should be fired. Oh yeah and all of that happened after I had to wait damn near 25 minutes because same said guy was hanging out talking to his buddies in the parking lot after being told I was there to pick up a truck. Please call me for more info and I'm sending the videos to the email this review came in!!DAVID S.
I showed up at the drop off location after being told by my pickup location that I can drop the truck off anytime, there's always a drop off box. Upon arrival I was told that I couldn't return the truck because the checkin person was not there until 12p. I had to make a second trip after 12p. Not a happy customerMichelle H.

Absolutely the worst rental experience I've encountered in fifty years. Approx half hour phone time re reservation; sent to FRESH POND Chevron, which has no U Haul. Told numerous other prior customers had similar experience ( So much for IMPROVING service) Two hours to complete the rental process after finding the correct location miles away. Not advised of hitch ball size during reservation process. No balls available for rental. 45 " waisted time. Standard 7 pin receptacle unable to plug in trailer male connection. Another trip to Auto Parts store for adapter (none available at rental location. Had to wait at counter while sole employee answer multiple phone calls, sold gasoline, cigarettes, coffee, and candy to multiple patrons. Employee had to reenter all information provided during reservation process. Asked for fee for one way rental, employee unable to provide. Told to phone UHaul for cost at destination point. ( Later learned one way fee was approximately an additional $180 for 25 mile trip. Rental location is a GASOLINE STATION with little to no knowledge of trailers for rent. They went the extra mile to help, and we ended up with an upgrade which we actually needed. You need to update your reservation system. We spent a half hour on the phone and had an agreement on price and size, but it didn't showup in the local computer that way so the pickup point dealer had to do exactly what we had already done all over again, so we stood around for an additional half hour while they communicate with the main reservationnumbergerald R.
