The 26' truck that I ordered and was guaranteed was not available. I had to downgrade to a 20' truck. Then we were unable to get the lock box open for the 24/7 touchless option and had to wait for the business to open to get our truck. Lastly, to return the truck the Uhaul.com website was down and unresponsive. When we tried calling we were put on hold for 25 minutes and never received any assistance.Trent C.
I dropped the truck off there on Sunday evening and placed key in the lockbox. I called the next morning at 9:00 am and left voice mail asking that someone call to verify everything was ok and I have received no response. This is very unprofessional and unfortunate given my positive pickup experience. I won't recommend any company that ignores its customers.Joel A.

The only comment I have is that it is downtown Anderson in a not so great area. Returning after dark is a bit intimidating, due to the lack of lighting in and around the location. I would recommend this location to friends only if they are going there during the day.SHAWN D.

We have rented UHaul many times being our Children are IU Students. we have gone online and been confirmed for a 20 footer and every time we are forced to take a 26 footer even though our reservation was confirmed for a 20 footer. The reasons we want the 20 footer is because all we need why we confirmed online..second it is very hard at IU to get around with that big of a truck and find a spot to unloadâ€¦third not only does it consume more gas, the ride is horrible and we did not have AC in the truck. We as past Customers would ask that UHaul honors what truck they confirmed online. Do not assume that Customers are happy being forced to take the 26 foot truck when they confirmed a 20 foot truck. The cost was definitely higher due to gas consumption and the experience was miserable for us on this confirmation. UHaul should definitely get better at honoring your online reservations and not force customers to accept because they have only that move date at universities. I still have not received my final invoice and returned truck yesterday. Overall was bad experience.Mark B.

Was very displeased initially with the U-haul scheduling. I had reserved a truck at the Muncie location and was awaiting a verification call for at least a week. U-haul finally called Sunday night before the pickup date at 5:05pm, missed that call and then was unable to reach anyone because 5:00pm was closing time. Had to drive to Anderson to get the truck the next morning. The guy at Anderson actually took care of me 30 minutes before their opening time. Very appreciative of that. He went above and beyond to fix what was a corporate problem.Ronald P.

Uhaul is definitely cheaper then other places but I would suggest long term rentals or leasing that is affordable. If insurance was included the 1200 a month would be reasonable but I could buy and insure a new van without the hassle of extending every week for around $800 a month.Pilot B.

I booked online and when I got there at 9:15 for my scheduled 930 pick up....the business was closed. There was another gentleman trying to pick up his U-Haul that he had scheduled to pick up at 9 AM and could not get a hold of anyone to get the keys. Neither of us had received text of how to pick up the vehicle. I did the online registration. But again the business was closed when we went to pick up. Finally a guy that used to own the business happen to stop Buy to put some things in storage which was right next to the building and he was able to help us out. Finally between 1015 and 1030 we received the U-Haul.Whitney E.

We had an appointment to pick up at 8, we did not leave there until 9:30. No one was in the shop when we first arrived so we had to wait 30 minutes for someone to arrive and help us. We they got there, they told us the truck had not been inspected or cleaned yet and then when they went to do it they did not have the keys. We had to wait for another customer to arrive with the keys and finally get it ready for us. We're also concerned they gave us the wrong U-haul because when we tried to return it after hours we had problems with the mileage and could not return it. Very poor experience and we are very upset because it had a great impact on our very long trip.Lena M.

The headlights barely emitted another light to drive in town at night, no way would I take it onto the interstate. The windshield was cracked all the way across the top. The check engine light was on! The gear selector in the dash did not match what gear you were actually in. The pickup location was dark and at night didn't seem like a safe place. I intended to rent from a location in Chesterfield because that is close to my home. Your company instead sent me to the Lansing in Anderson on Main Street. I had to go there to log onto the app to get the vehicle, the next step told me to drive to where I wanted to rent from in Chesterfield. On my way there I get a call from uhaul out of Indianapolis setting off I have gotten my rental truck. I replied no that I am on my way to the second location. I am them told how wrong I am by your company, regardless of what the app told me. The entire conversation I was talked over and interrupted by your caller from Indianapolis. Check your recordings, it's all there! Never again!Brian B.

The renter was very kind and accommodating but the trailer that had been returned for us to rent had no taillights, at no fault of the vendor.. Understandably, we were downgraded to a smaller trailer. We just feel the rental price should have reflected the smaller trailer vs the slightly higher price of the larger one. Thank you!Mark F.

First make sure the truck is cleaned or at least wiped down. The truck I rented was filthy on the inside. I had to place a plastic tarp on the seats just to sit on them. Second, take the big "Rent Me Sign" out of the window before you rent the truck. I have never rented any uhaul truck from anywhere that I had to take it out myself and put it in the back of the truck. Third, have your employees knowledgable about options. I am a penny pincher. So I am always looking for ways to safe some money. I expressed to your sales representative that I only needed to the truck truck for a couple of hours, but I put reserved it for 10 hours. The representative said "ok, if you keep it for 10 hours, we will be closed and you can return it by dropping the key through the hole in the door." Then she talked about insurance and had me initial and sign. What she should of said was "if you keep it for 10 hours, we will be closed and you can return it by dropping the key through the hole in the door, but there is a $20 after hours fee. Maybe it is just a location thing wether they charge you or not, but I never knew there was a fee for after hour drop off because I have never received one in the past (from other locations). The few times I have used your trucks in the past, I have always dropped them off when the location was closed and never received a fee before. All together this was a horrible experience renting a uhaul from this location. The $20 after hours return fee was just like a slap in the face after settling and looking past the deplorable condition the truck I rented was in. One would ask, why didn't I just ask for another truck? The answer to that is, that was the only one they had in the size I needed. Bottom line, it is worth the extra money in mileage to just go to a different location and rent a uhaul.Marvin B.
