Check in by phone was problematic. I was instructed to use a code for a lockbox that didn't exist. Fortunately an employee (or the owner) of the location arrived just then to deliver part of my rental equipment and he helped me get the keys. All else went well.

We originally reserved a U-Haul to be picked up at the U-Haul location located about a mile away from us. We were notified two days before pick-up that they would not have the truck available at that location. We have to drive about 30 miles away to pick up our truck, which was an inconvenience. However, Mike, the person who called us to set up an alternative pick up site, and Todd, the contact person at the site, could not have been nicer! Everything was set up for pick-up, so the process was very efficient. We would highly recommend this site for U-Haul.

Our pick up location was changed at the last minute by Uhaul because the previous customer didn't have the truck back in time for us to pick it up. It would have been nice to have the mileage from the new location deducted from the amount it would have been from the closer location I chose since it wasn't our fault the location was changed.

The Gentleman running the show isn't the friendliness at all , we have used a U-Haul from them before and thought the same thing . He made a comment that he didn't want our trailer because he just sent 6 of them to another location ? Just plain rude .

Both locations pick up and drop off or excellent! Did not take long to get hooked up and on our way. And then at the Destiination we just drop the trailer and left perfect!

The cargo reeked of cat pee. The employee up front said he hadn't checked the truck from the previous driver. Other than that, everything was fine.

I was to return the truck by 6pm and arrived at 5:47pm. The shop individual had already locked up but was talking with someone outside. Had he not been outside and I had been just a few minutes later (but before 6pm), I would not have caught the shop manager and would've had to pay for another day I presume. This is the only issue I could have had.

The base of the trailer was dirty and needed to be cleaned out , we couldn't put anything of value on the base of trailer because of this . The uhaul needed more tie downs inside, we weren't able to bring everything we had planned on moving because of it . This was our first time traveling and using U-Haul to move , will be using U-Haul again but may get different a trailer to accommodate our move .

So there are several problems that occurred and were correctly addressed at this location. Initially, the original U-Haul we were emailed about did not have the 17' vehicle I was going to rent, and after waiting in line for 30 minutes, did they then tell me that my vehicle was in a different location. I was not given any prior notification, in the form of a call or email, for the switch in locations. Also, when I asked for an address for the new location so that I may get my vehicle, I was not given one. Upon arriving at this location, the man who was working the desk was very kind and apologetic about the whole situation. Next problem, not only did I waste about an hour of my time trying to get to the correct location to get the 17', but I was notified then and there that the 17' was not available, and I had to get the 20' one instead. Once again, no prior notification about this switch. Thankfully, the man working fixed the price for one of a 17" vehicle. Then the order got messed up and that needed to be fixed, since this would be a one way trip. This location is pretty good, just the other one that I visited prior that I can't comment on, was very irritating and unhelpful.

For long distance moves, I think the trucks should have a cruise control feature. Driving for 13 hours with no cruise control is really difficult.

Had to drive to AutoZone 3 times before being able to hitch trailer. UHaul renter did not have all the equipment needed and mis described what was needed 1st 2 times.

We made our trailer reservation online and requested a dolly. This location popped up having both the size of trailer we wanted and having a dolly. So I confirmed the reservation. When we went to pick up the trailer they didn't have a dolly. The guy that worked there didn't know how to confirm my reservation and had to call his boss to do it the process took over 30 mins. Apparently the dolly was never returned from a prior rental, so they never made U-haul aware of the fact that they no longer have a dolly. This meant that my wife and i had to had lift our new washer with the assistant of my 13 year old daughter. Both my wife and i have back issues and this was not ideal for us due to our health issues.

Had trouble finding drop off location(s) that we're still open running business &/or open & was farther from area requested. No greeting just asked if dropping & pointed to outside that key Dropbox was out there & then charged us for cleaning fee of two pieces of cardboard that were in trucks upper level that was there when picked up truck at night after hours & didn't see them until after & with moving things they ended up on main holding area—so we left them. Both cust serv and we have pending refund for review due to initial office hours...

The agent leasing the uhaul needs to make sure the uhaul is clean and that all lights work and tow dolly works before leasing it. Also area manager told the agent that he will not work past his 7pm time and said we should of took the equipment that didnt work when traveling 1500 miles.

The after hours drop off is an issue. Me dropping it off wasn't a problem but there's no way to secure it. the trailer was stolen later that night so it was just assumed I was still using it and they kept charging me until I contacted them. The online part of finalizing was a bit confusing as to what my options were.

This employee saved our day from the headquarters poor scheduling and communication. Although the local pick up and drop off employees were nice and helpful, I will avoid using uhaul in the future.
