When we arrived to pick up the truck, the staff were friendly and helpful. The problem was that the equipment we reserved (appliance dolly) was not there. Because of this we had to drive 30 minutes to a different location to pick the equipment up and then drive back to pick up the truck. Staff at uhaul (that we had to get the dolly from) were not helpful in this matter and it was a huge inconvenience. It should be verified that equipment is available at a specific location and ready at the time of pick up. This should not be the customer's responsibility to go and pick something up that should have been with the truck in the first place.

This location is terrible. I made the reservation online and then called them and discussed my needs with a man who works there. They knew I needed the vehicle on a Sunday and they never informed me that my reservation was sent to the corporate when I was speaking to them on the phone. A simple phone call to me to let me know would have shown that they valued their customers and that was not done. When I got to the location on Sunday to pick up my vehicle, I hadn't received an email and when I called customer service, which I was on the phone with for about an hour, there was no key waiting in the lock box for me. The district manager had to come to help me because this location was not organized enough to complete this rental. The uhaul was great, but if your company prides itself on good customer service, I would recommend you find a different business to work with in Canandaigua. When I called them yesterday to express my dissatisfaction, the woman I spoke to did not take any responsibility for the mistake that was made and blamed corporate for the issue. She didn't even apologize for not reaching out to me. I would like to request some sort of credit on my credit card for this ordeal. Because of this mistake, we lost out on an hour in the evening to move, which means we didn't get everything done we hoped. I am not asking for a full refund, but I think we deserve some sort of credit for the added stress this caused at an already stressful time in my life.

The truck was not cleaned out. The back had dirt and leaves in it and the cab had a dirty ashtray (ashes) and thee were sunflower seeds all over the floor and in the drink holders. Other than that, the truck was good.

I made arrangements 5 days ahead for the rental of a 26' truck. Was told "ok no problem ". The day before scheduled rental day UHAUL called to confirm rental was still needed, which I said yes it was. I was then told that the 26' wouldn't be available at the location I had prearranged for and that if I wanted a 26' truck I'd have to travel an additional 20 miles to pick it up and drop off (which would cost me an additional $40-50 in mileage fees and probably another $15 in fuel costs). The representative from UHAUL seemed unfazed by the situation and didn't bother to apologise and even said I should have known that the rental availabilty was never guaranteed. I was not told there was no guarantee for availability. Resulted in my having to use a smaller truck (but for same cost) and then begging a family member to please make three trips with their pickup truck. This is the last time UHAUL will ever get any of my business.

For first time u haulers, I would have appreciated going over the vehicle a little. I would have felt more comfortable driving a large vehicle. But everything else was superb!

From the moment we arrived everything went smoothly. The young lady there was efficient and friendly and had everything ready to go. In past experiences with “other” Uhaul distributors we NEVER had such an easy experience. The truck was there “on time “, fueled and instructions were prepared and explained efficiently. The facility was pleasant and clean. I would HIGHLY recommend this Uhaul facility

The battery died half way through my time renting it, after I had fully loaded it, I had to jump start it. It worked fine after I jump started it but I had to leave it running because I was nervous that it wouldnt start again after I I turned it off, which made me waste gas. On top of all that the back door was almost impossible to open and close. Uhaul needs to seriously upgrade their trucks.

I reserved the trailer for pickup at 12:00 10/10. I went to the location given ( Lakeville, NY.) They did not have the trailer. They call in and said the trailer was being located and someone would call. No one called. I called them at 1:45. They I was supposed to have picked it up. told me the trailer was in another location. I had ask twice where it was because they did not tell me. Finally they told me and I had to drive an additional 30 miles. That is not so much the issue as the fact that I was not told where it was and had to ask multiple times to get the address.

I had to go to second location to pick up trailer, First location said it was already booked and couldn't rent that trailer. They said it was a common problem with over booking . Second location was excellent. I would recommend, NOt sure what happened at first place. took half the am to get trailer.

Flexibility- My dropoff point needed changing. After I arrived at my destination I didn't want to tow a empty trailer back to canandagua. I called the u-haul rep (she was very nice and professional ) and my original dropoff point couldn't be changed ,even though I was willing to pay the extra charge. If this is the policy u- haul enforces on clients they are leaving a lot of money on the table,and also a clients who may chose other means of hauling. Just saying. Flexibility is the key. Marketing 101 Thank you

They failed to check in the glove compartment and gave me a dirty vehicle. And they didn’t have a large selection of auto transport or trailers and I had to travel significantly out of my way to get what I needed.

I felt like this was an impossible move with the time offered by U-Haul . With a Wednesday afternoon pickup I only had Thursday to load the largest truck, drive it 4 states away on Friday and unload on Saturday- especially when the truck was due back by 12 noon. The return company was upset with me on the phone because I could not unload the truck before noon. I tried as hard as a could but could only get it there on Saturday around 4:15. If they had worked a full day they could have flipped that truck. It was unfortunate that they took a rude attitude with me on the phone stating I had to honor the contract. I was working as hard as I could to get that truck unloaded, unlike FLX Auto- who closed at noon. I still need 1 more rental to complete my move from VA to NY, just need to decide if I’ll go back to U-Haul
