I was completely unhappy with Uhaul experience in Houston. I was scheduled to pick up 12 miles from my house even though there were 2 locations near my house. I understood there may not have been the equipment I needed at those locations, I was ok with that. What I was upset with was I was scheduled to pick up a location at 10:00 am and was told it had been confirmed. When I got there I was informed that the equipement I reserved was not there. On my way back home I contacted Uhaul to let them know I just drove 12 miles just to learn there was no equipment there. The person I spoke to appoligized and said they'd find me another location closer to my house. They gave me the new pickup address just to learned it was 14 miles from my house. Anyway, when I got there I had to wait 30 mins. for the owner to get there. I took it home and everything set for a couple days while we packed. On the morning we were ready to leave I hooked the car dolly back up to the truck so I could load our car. While getting everything ready I noticed one of the tie down ratchets was inoperable. I again called Uhaul and they sent me to the location close to my house. The guy there was very nice and helpfull. He said he didn't have the car dolly we needed but would upgrade us to a car carrier at no additional charge. I had also reserved 6 moving blankets but my pickup location said they were all out. I was suppose to get a $50 credit for the initial mess up but have yet to recieve anything. I was told I would be contacted by a Uhaul Supervisor to see if there was anything else they could do because of not being able to provide me with blankets and for having to return the damaged car dolly. I've yet to hear from anyone about that as well. I've used Uhaul in the past and have always had good luck. Because of the horrible experience I had this last time I will probably never use them again and will be sure to let everyone know about the lack of communication, incompentance and not following through with what they said would be down to resolve the issues.TROY C.

I booked at a location close to me and then I was called the day before to be told I had to go pick up my trailer 30 minutes farther from the location I booked.Michelle H.

The service was unacceptable. The person renting the equipment want there at the time of the appointment. Someone from u-haul tried to help but when I called back the next person said the original place was sending out rentals. So I went back to the place and was told he would be another 39 minutes, again unacceptable, so I got back on the phone and another person who helped me and started my check out herself. Finally the person that was supposed to rent the dolly showed up and the equipment was not in working order so I had to wait for another person to show up and fix the equipment. Through all of these calls I was told that there would be a discount of 50% of the cost initially quoted because of all the problems encountered. The initial pick up time was 9AM, I did not receive the tow dolly until 12:30. Again, this was very unacceptable since the agreement was 9AM. To top it all off there was no discount and the u-haul rep acted like nothing had ever happened. I've never had this type of service from Uhaul and I don't intend to ever again.MICHAEL M.

I had reserved a dozen furniture pads that were not available at the rental site. The full service uhaul facility just up from this site had pads but couldn't rent them to me due to a â€œcomputer glitchâ€! Your main office directed me to a site 20 miles away. I used towels...Cliff M.
The service was great, the centralized computing system left much to be desired. The service provider at Global Automotive had to contact U-Haul by phone to complete the transaction.Paul S.

Your website was completely incorrect! Your website let me "book" a hand cart the shop didn't have and it told me there were boxes there too, which they did not have. I also consulted your website to find a specific type of box and was unable to get a correct answer Thank God I was smart enough to call ahead.
