Was given truck with 1/3 tank of gas after I had to wait 20 minutes after my original pick up time..was told they would take miles off on return of truck they took 2 miles l off... I was charged for giving them back a truck with more gas... and was punished for giving them a truck better then I found it.. I was also accused of misplaying equipment even though it was all accounted for.. would not recommend awful customer service I will never rent a U-Haul ever again nor recommend it to anyone especially from this location. Was added stress on an already stressful day that was not needed nor wanted.Preston H.

Your people renting your trailer wired up lights that only worked on my driver's side. Insisting it was fine when I questioned it. Then what they wired just fell apart in the road. My vehicle in turn quit running, lost all charge while driving twice. The third time it did not start again. I had no issues until they wired the U-Haul trailer t to my truck. I contacted them at which I knew that I wouldn't be able to return the trailer on time. They decided to not come after the trailer until the next day around 11am. My truck then was jumped and started and ran after the U-Haul trailer wires were disconnected from my truck. I gave no authorization for any more charges to my card. Yet they too it upon themselves to fraudulently charge my card almost $18 more. I live on disability and am not happy with a company that charges my card without my permission or knowledge when I'm quite sure it was due to their negligence on wiring and telling me to take the trailer with lights improperly working. I'm not even sure this was legal. So I never even was able to use the trailer for the intended use in the first place. Everything done was in my opinion underhanded and laziness on the company you allow to rent out your U-Hauls. I will be having my vehicle checked as well as contacting the BBB and advocates for the disabled. As well as checking to see if it's illegal or just poor ethics to allow a customer to leave with a trailer with poor or improper working lights. The first truck I picked up I took all the way back to my home before finding out it was full of cockroaches. When I returned the truck I was charged for the mileage and rental insurance, $35 to just drive a roach infested truck back and forth taking an hour out of the time I was paying movers to move my furniture. I then was given a 10ft truck to make up for this instead of the 17ft truck because the roach truck was the only other large truck. This second trucks has gauge would drop a quarter tank whenever parked so even after putting 4 gallons into the tank for the usage it dropped as soon as you put it in park. The ignition on the second truck was also jammed so between the 2 extra loads I needed to take due to the smaller truck it took me 5 min each time to get the key to even turn in the ignition. I understand trying to get the full life out of these vehicles but they were both in desperate need of repair and should not be used for rental. I have used uhaul for all of my previous moves but after this I don't think I will ever be back.Richard H.

My location was switched twice. My pick up time was pushed back. They didn't have the equipment I needed. AND the gas gauge wasn't accurate so I ended up having to fill up the tank. I was not offered any sort of discount. It was not a pleasant experience.Jayme P.

Easy access; staff was very helpful so that I was able to return the truck after hours. HOWEVER, I WAS DISAPPOINTED THAT I WAS CHARGED AN ADDITIONAL CHARGE FOR GAS WHEN I ADDED GAS BEFORE I RETURNED THE TRUCK. THE ORIGINAL CONTRACT SHOWED THE TANK AT 7/8 FULL; THE CONTRACT AFTER THE RETURN OF THE TRUCK SHOWED THE GAS TANK BETWEEN 7/8 AND FULL. SO WHY WAS I CHARGED THE ADDITIONAL $3.47?John S.

I am an unhappy customer. I made my reservation a few days before i needed a truck with pick up location on 40 hwy in Independence. MO for 9:00 am. I go to pick up the truck at this location several monutes before 9am. Sat in the car for minute after a few minutes decided to call and no answer, so i left a voicemail. I left for about 10 minutes, and when i came back still no one was there and they still wasn't open, so i left and went to next location on Noland rd also in Independence, Mo, and found out that they had change the pick up location. I did not receive a text, call or e mail to inform me of a different pick up location. Not only that but I chose the first location on 40 highway because it was close to my house, so it was more convenient for me to pick up and drop off the truck. The new pick up location was WAY out of my way. Now because of this I had to pay for more mileage and I NOT happy about it. U Haul should have communicated this to me and I would have been able to make that decision on my own. I was very upset for this inconvenience, and I should be refunded the excess mileage for having to go way OUT of my way. I have used your company several times over the years, and this is the first time that I wasn't happy with the way I was treated. Please forward this to corporate. The engine or transmission was making a lot of noise and the truck had an hard time accelerating and might need a little love, otherwise my experience with the truck and the lovely people at hardesty storage was great. The only upsetting part of the whole experience was that when I made the reservation I asked for an 8 a.m. pick up time at a location much closer to my house and thought I would receive a call if that was not possible but no call came. I just happened to double check the reservation that morning to find that I was going 5 miles out of my way to get the truck 8 1/2 hours after I needed it.Molly S.

When I was called to confirm it was at that time stated to me that the pick up location was different. No big deal. However we confirmed 8am! When I arrived to pick up the uhaul- the ladies then stated "uhaul doesnt open until 9am. we have other things to do before uhaul opens. Uhaul is on the side so you're going to have to wait." There were no apologies or anything. The ladies were rude and could care less that we were there, spending our money. I will not rent a uhaul from that location ever again.Sierra M.
