Bald summer tires on the truck. Didn’t feel safe driving in the highway, Got stuck on flat ground multiple times due to no traction. Phantom Charges. Ended up being charged 150 dollars for a 24 hour rental. When it was supposed to be 60.
NOAH TWas dirty and garbage left inside in door handles and in between seat was quoted one price, but then charged an extreme amount of money for a one day rental

FRANCIS WPoor condition of our 20 foot U-Haul truck was disappointing. 1. Transmission was chronically stuck in high engine revolutions on every descent / incline. Transmission rpm’s were way to high as transmission continually searched for correct gearing. 2. Gear shift lever was out of alignment or worn and proved difficult to find drive , reverse and / or park positions. 3. Emergency brake release lever was intermittent in operation. 4. Drivers seat wasquite worn out and provided no support for the driver on our 1,000 km trip, as per the booking. This vehicle needs to be properly maintained / fixed or retired. 5: Lastly we received no fewer than THREE requested drop off locations, the last of which was texted to me while on route to the second requested drop off location in busy 5 o’clock Surrey traffic. Most annoying / hazardous. We have had previous good experience with U-Haul rentals but this occasion was a quite sub-par. All of the above was reported to the attendant at the drop off location. THOMAS BUhaul rented me a truck that should have been out of service. The equipment broker down shortly after renting it and caused a 31 hour delay
Werner PJustin was extremely helpful and accommodating. He ensured we knew what to do. He adjusted things considering our situation of having to drive further to get the truck and trailer. He provided a tutorial to ensure we knew how everything worked. Very friendly and made the service quicker.

ROD BLocation out of town, nicely fence compound but gate locked when I arrived. Had to search on line for contact information to advise we were dropping off trailer. Was told to leave trailer by fence which made me uncomfortable due to possibility of trailer being stolen and me being left responsible. If drop off site not staffed a sign with contact information attached to the gate would be very helpful. ps: I tried to submit my review with the answer to the question “we’re the personnel helpful?” With answer of not applicable (as no personnel available) but would not accept submission unless I put either yes or no, so why have the option of not applicable as a response on the survey?

Rick HWent to pick up truck and nobody was even there to open the gate or give us access to the truck. We had to call, and the workers didn’t even know we were coming. Was very frustrating having people waiting for us and having so many problems getting the truck. The guy did end up coming to open the gate but he didn’t have any time to help us or answer any questions he was just in a rush to get us out of there. Did I mention how frustrating this was?!
Sabrina CI had booked a car hauling trailer for our move across canada from smithers, BC to Winnipeg, MB. the day before my scheduled pickup I was informed that the only available trailer was a 6 hr one way drive away in Quesnel, BC. I had to call all around and beg for a tow dolly located in Smithers, BC which led to significant cost and time that I did not have requiring us to remove our driveshaft as our car is AWD. The dolly had straps that had been cut short and just barely reached around our tires and the ratchets were terrifically rusty. The 26' truck seemed in good shape and new enough but I was informed (also the day before pickup) that I was responsible for tire chains, which I had given away with my truck a week prior. It would have been very nice if this was all laid out at the time of booking. The truck was also not properly equipped for winter driving as it did not have an adjustable cover on the front grill. This led to a dangerous situation where the coolant was not maintaining temperature on the highway and if I was not vigilant it would have left me stranded in the cold.

Alexander LPicking my truck on an app with my cell was awful and very time consuming. It took almost an hour, not 10 minutes. My truck was also in kms and my app was in miles. Nothing worked as it should.

Robert MI am beyond frustrated with uhaul. We don’t have the option to pick up and drop in Houston, bc which is 20 km from us, instead we’re forced to go to Smithers and pay extra km both on personal vehicles and your charges. We rent from you guys so often and it’s always costing us more $ and hassle because of organizational issues. The staff at locations are excellent but as far as customer service overall, it’s awful. I live in Topley, 27 km from Houston but rather I’m driving over an hour every time because we can’t pick up or drop closer despite their being a location closer. Why can’t this be solved?!!

Nigel MGetting a notification the day before my rental pick up that you were going to downsize my trailer from a 12' x 6' to a 8' x 5' is unacceptable. Due to the lack of competition I had no choices but to stick with U-haul but in the future will plan to seek alternatives to U-haul. Improve your customer service and your business practice!
Scott BGarbage service we where told our uhaul would be in terrace up until the night before we got it. Had to rent a car to drive 3 hours one way to pick up our uhaul. Upon picking up the uhaul the business was closed so non of the equipment or blankets that where ordered where there. Very disappointing will be Going with different options in our next move.

Zachariah BNeeds better communication (Answer phone) His partner confirmed I was getting a particular truck only to find out when I arrived it was not the one she and Uhual promised.(Unit had no AC and other one did in temperatures reaching 30 plus degrees Celsius Unit was dirty No communication on how to operate or hook up trailer (Good thing I have experienced but what about those who dont?) Maybe be prepared by having your device used for check in charged and ready to. Battery Dying because you didn’t charge it is not very professional Changed Drop off location that I had already chosen online. Picked the first one on his list that happened to be the furthest and most inconvenient.
Todd DTried calling the drop off location several times. Answering machine referred me to the guy's girlfriend. Left messages with both. No response. Maybe voicemail could say, "Drop off any time, instructions at the gate".

Daniel VNot sure who's trying to screw me for 3 day's extra rental which is wrong as it was dropped off on time. The vehicle had 1/2 a tank of fuel in it when I picked it up which I took photo's of and their trying to charge me with an additional $200.00 + for fuel! I definitely know this will be my last U haul rental and would highly advise other's to look elsewhere.
sheldon rDid not provide trailer cleaned and ready to go. Had to back into 1 foot of snow to get it out... completely covered in snow. Attached hitch for me and later realized when loading my car that it was not locked - the trailer tongue luckily did not damage my truck or fly off going down the road... not happy at all with this experience.

GREG BWhen the uhaul dealer calls uhaul and tell them this trailer has bald tires. Uhaul should listen. I drove the 6x12 trailer 3700 plus kms and the tires were a constant concern . Luckly they held together. Trailer towed really quite well. One point of contention why is it I had to tow the trailer from here in b.c. to Saskatchewan. And back again a one way tow to me would be much easier. To tow a bouncing empty trailer 1658k.sucked. but I had no choice. To tow from here in b.c. and return here . Was around 500.00 dollars. To pick the trailer up in Saskatchewan and do a one way tow, dropping the trailer here In b.c. I was quoted 2209.00 dollars. That is ridiculous. I am unable to comprehend why it costs 3 times more to do a one way tow than a round trip. It makes 0 sense. That policy needs to go away. And the trailers should be much better maintained. I know full well that my rant will be completely ignored!! But at least it's out there.
