My trip was delayed due to my rented trailer missing a break light in Midland Michigan. This led to me returning my rental 3 hours late. The U Haul location I rented from said they would waive the fee for extra time due to the error on their part. Upon reaching Harvey's Corner, I explained to the gentleman my situation and he told me that it was fine. I later found out I was charged $80. I emailed the location 5 days ago and have yet to hear back. I've tried their phone number and gelkt a busy line tone. I am unsatisfied with this experience and based on this would not recommend this location.

I reserve trunk for pick up online for in person when I pick up someone was saying I couldn’t pick up because I needed u haul app but I said I reserve pick up for on line and didn’t use app my pick up was in person was told I couldn’t pick up without using app but was help by someone else.

This was the drop off location I originally selected on my online reservation. However, the location that I was supposed to drop off at was horrible. The gentleman that helped me at my pick up location selected Lightning Inc in Country Club Hills as my drop off location, against my request. When I arrived at Lightning, there was no U-Haul signage, no drop box for keys, there was dim lighting and barely any room to park. I did not feel comfortable leaving the truck there, and had to call U-Haul support to request my drop off location be changed to Harvey's Corner (my originally selected drop off location on my online reservation). U-Haul support was helpful and said that I could leave the truck at Harvey's corner. I asked for an email confirmation of the drop off location change, which I did not receive. I called Harvey's Corner the next morning to confirm that they had the information they needed from me, and the gentleman was helpful and sent me an emailed receipt. Overall, Harvey's Corner is welcoming and helpful. However, the stress and confusion around my changed drop off location made my experience less than I expected. In my opinion, Lightning Inc is not up to your standards, and I felt very uncomfortable. I was uneasy that I would receive additional charges on my card for not dropping off the truck there.

Help with calculating mileage . Using google maps, I tried to combine all the stops and trips I was making, but ended up short. Just a $10 extra charge, which was nice, but I could’ve used a hand Figuring it all out.

first of all they are not open on Monday & their voicemail didn't indicate that. Then my bill says $6 for missing furniture pads that I wasn't charged for to begin with...we were given a bag ...never counted. then the fuel wasn't pre-checked b/c we the pickup location couldn't print out a contract. The truck wasn't full! He rushed me out so he could get back to his oil changes....He kept saying you are fine, you are fine then I get a email for $85.83!

Be fair and make sure a truck that is to be returned to a location is clearly printed on the receipt not to cause confusion and unnecessary fees. Give the customer what they ask for and make sure your representatives key in correct information. Professionalism matters.

I would recommend the location if it is convenient, but if one can choose another location, I would suggest that. The phone number listed for the establishment works, but no one answers it. The staff was friendly, but the manager who processed my rental didn't walk me through the paperwork or the cargo van. Being that it was my first time renting a cargo van, I would have loved to learn the ins and outs of it. The whole time I had no idea how to open the left rear door. I made it work though. Nevertheless, I liked the van and I enjoyed renting from U-Haul.

The manager Bill and his assistant were excellent! Went out of their way to accommodate my needs for a move from Illinois to Missouri for me and my mom. I would tell anyone that EVER moves anything in the area of country club hills, IL to utilize this location. Very pleased and moved. Safe and happy

They handle situations with the self check out of the equipment poorly. After My card was charged for damage to equipment that wasn't done by me, I was refunded $310. However I had to turn around and pay the correct amount at the same time. Meanwhile a week later. There's still a hold on my card but they have my payment for the truck. I don't know the protocol for damaged equipment. I really don't understand why they wouldn't investigate the situation first, when I stated at the time of drop off that there was no damage, I had insurance and the app asked me to take pictures during the check in process. Furthermore the trucks are parked in a gas station where they can be easily hit at anytime. Therefore I believe I shouldn't have had to have my card charged and disputed the allegations prior to them looking at cameras. People don't think about this when it isn't their money. So honestly the check out process on your own is ok, however bringing it back while the store is closed is terrible. It could happen even if the location isn't on the same property as another business. So with that being said the whole self check in process that requires photos at the time is a lost cause. Even though once they submit the refund "it's up to the bank", all this could've been avoided had they referred to the information they had access to before they just decided I caused th damage. But I guess it's too be expected when you only on the business side of it and just want somebody to pay.
