We had a terrible experience at the customer service. After reserving online, we went to the Uhaul office to pick up the cargo. The office agent didn't gave us any option for if we needed more time, and he went mad when we asked him if he could come out with us to check the vehicle before we leave. He even tried to take back the car key from us saying he wanted to cancel our reservation because we were not happy with his customer service. This is why when an emergency came along the road and my husband has to drop me to the hospital - I am 8 months pregnant - We couldn't call back the agent to notify given the terrible experience we already experienced during the pick up. We ended up been 2 hours late and charged an extra day (which the agent did not explain to us during the pick up time). We pay way more for a 9' cargo to pick stuffs from Oakville/Burlington to Hamilton than for a 26' truck to pick up things from Toronto to Hamilton. We have dealt with Uhaul before but this location was nothing like our previous experience. We will never return there again and will never recommend this location to anybody.Guy T.

I was asked not to leave my car at this location. They did agree to let me park at the side of the building where the uhaul van was originally parked, however, I was told they would not be responsible for any damages to my car while it was there. The front cab of the van was very dusty from the last person which appeared they had loaded broken up drywall in the back. That said, the customer service was really good!! I was in and out quickly and they brought the van to the front of the store for me.ERINCELESTE K.

The truck was filthy on the inside- the last person to use the truck looked like they had moved something like concrete that was extremely chalky and white all over. There was garbage left in the front seat and looked like milk had been spilled on the dashboard and inside of front window. The back cargo floor was very dirty and we had to lay blankets down just so our furniture didn't get covered. We were very disappointed in the cleanliness of it, especially in a time like this with covid. We had to clean the front ourselves with cleaning product to feel safe. We tried to mark this on the return and check in but it would have charged us $25 for clean up when we weren't the ones to have made the mess. The parking spot was difficult to access.Robert D.
Workers are completely ignorant was told I could have the truck from 3pm until 3pm the next day when I arrived to put the deposit down, I was then made aware that I couldn't have it for the 24 hours I was promised and had to have the truck back by 9am then was told 10am. They didn't have the van I reserved. Actually they didn't have my reservation at all. Luckily there was a size larger van than we needed available. The machine for the uhaul was not working so I had to pay cash for the deposit and rental. I would have preferred to used credit for the purchase. The service person behind the counter was confusing. Spend a few minutes going over the rental with the client and make sure everything is safe and agreed upon in the contract. Maybe we could have spotted that cable that punctured my hand before it got me if we had tested it at the yard. Also, when i returned the truck, it would have been nice to know about a $30.00 charge to put $5.00 of fuel in to top it up. Aren't U Haul rentals supposed to come with a full tank? I really was disappointed with the brush off I got when i returned the truck and especially how you ignored me about the broken cable "biting" me. .Daniel U.
Van didn't come with the protective pads I ordered. The app didn't upload photos (tried on multiple devices), so I was forced to go in-store to check-out. Absolutely the worst experience renting a vehicle. Previously have had excellent experiences. We wasted an hour and a half as Uhaul made an error in booking the location. We were then redirected to another spot to pickup. The rate changed by another $20 despite being Uhaul's error. Would certainly never recommend UHAUL and will be using alternative rental companies going forward. An absolute disregard for my time that caused us a chain reaction of issues.Robert T.

Rented an appliance Dolly with my vehicle rental. When I arrived to my destination to pick up my large appliance there was no Dolly in the truck. I should have known better than assume my dolly order was there. Instead of paying milage to drive back to the location to get it (which would have made me late for another engagement causing me to lose more money than the dolly charge) we decided to lift the heavy item by hand. When returning the vehicle I let the cashier know there was no dolly in the vehicle and he said he had already taken it off the order. When I asked for a receipt I was told I don't get a paper receipt and that one would go to my email. I reminded him not to charge me for the dolly that I did not receive. After waiting 2 days for an emailed receipt I finally get it and I was charged for the dolly. Very frustrated but I know mistakes happen. I have already sent an email requesting the refund for the dolly to be applied back to my credit card.Thomas P.

Rental van had check engine light on. Also I was not allowed to pay the bill on return of the vehicle. I had put more gas in the vehicle and was actually over the gauge from first pickup and yet was still charged for fuel. Finally received bill about 10 days later. Where do I even start. It took over 20 minutes to get the truck signed out. The store clerk would not accept debit or credit and I was forced to use a small private atm at the back of his store. Was charged 102 upfront and another 34 when I brought the truck back. Another 20 minute process. Glad I was the only one there to get a truck. It took over an hour to check out a van, even though I had requested the vehicle and given all my personal information the day before. When I arrived it did not appear the woman at the counter knew anything about my rental, nor did she know anything about how to do a rental. Mobile pickup was MUCH slower than picking up at the desk. No information about the mobile pickup experience was available at the time I chose that method. The truck smelled like someone had been transporting cattle in it, and the check engine light was on - likely needed an oil change. If there were any other feasible options for renting this kind of vehicle then I would give other companies serious consideration - but there aren't. I guess that explains why things are in the state I experienced - lack of any real competition.Bill B.

I can't begin to describe what a bad experience we had with U-Haul this time. First of all, this location doesn't have an appliance dolly. I prebooked it and was still charged for it. I was told to go to another location with the truck to pick one up. Paying for kilometres, this isn't smart. As I was driving there, I discovered the truck would not shift out of 2nd gear and the check engine light was on. I was told at the Nash Rd location to take the truck back to where I got it and take a cab back to Nash rd if I wanted another truck. What sort of service is this? The truck was not road worthy and unsafe to drive.Ryan L.
It took me 5 minutes to pull out of the spot because it was parked so tightly. I am a skilled driver and have my F Class License. It was backed about 3 inches away from a pole and then had the other uhaul, the 10' one, parked about 1 foot away from the bumper of my rented car. The guy suggested i park it where I found it and i said it was too tight and I wasn't comfortable with it. When I returned it I had it in the parking lot and he told me to go put it back, I said I couldn't because of how tight it was. He asked me to move both of the uHaul vans. I gave him the keys and left. 2nd time at this location, 2nd time I hated it. Would rather travel further from home than go there.Matt K.

The service was poor, not well explained and way too expensive as I used the service for 1 hour to pick up something and come back, got charged almost $90 when i could have went to an actual uhaul location and would have spent $40-$50. When we got the truck it was at 32 miles, we sent it back with 50 miles and the man at the counter said it wasn't â€œgood enoughâ€ and needed to be at a quarter tank (even though we didn't recieve the truck at a quarter tank, we recieved it at almost empty.) and refused to give us our money back for it. The van was very loud, it must have a hole in the exhaust somewhere. I got pulled over by the police who were very kind and told me they wouldn't give me a ticket but to tell the operator to have the van repaired. Upon returning the vehicle they were very appreciative of me informing them of the issue. I also think that a vehicle that is advertised at 19.95 per day cost me 43.80 plus 15.00 in gas and I only drive 3km?? The staff were very friendly and that is what I base this review on.TRICIA F.

I asked to rent from West end of Hamilton location but this location was closest I could get. I arrived at 9.50 for 10am pick up, there was a person in front of me who was having problems with renting and ask salesperson for phone to talk to Agent it was 30min before salesperson got to me. He checked my booking and asked me for emergency contact name and number which I gave him, he said this number did not work and Agent was not going to rent to me so I also asked for the phone and finally got an agreement to rent. The sales person gave me the key and said I would get all information through Email, this was 50 MIN AFTER ARRIVING, VERY FRUSTRATED AND NOT THE WAY I WANTED TO START MY DAY, The vans gas register was reading under half full which usually is Full when renting so I am interested to see final billing as I do not trust this Agent and expect to see additions to billing I will have to deal with, I would not rent from this location againKen B.

Don't argue about payment method when finishing the rental. I reserved by credit card but when I returned the truck, the man behind the counter argued with me when I wanted to pay by cash. He argued that it could stay on the credit card but I didn't want it going through the credit card. It took about 5 minutes to close out the rental by paying by cash. I was told on the phone a price of 19.99 then was given a bigger truck and charged more when there was a smaller one there. I was also charged a gas fee after putting in 15 dollars worth of gas. If the operator did a check when I was there he could have told me that I was short on gas I would have gone and put more in. That is unfair!!
