I went to the UHaul site online, selecting a location for pickup. I was assigned a vehicle and pickup point (on the same street as my request, 11 miles north of my requested location). UHaul did not mention the lack of my requested vehicle at my requested location and the assignment of pickup to a different location; so I did not check the street number against my original request, just went to my requested store. The proprietor at the West Ave., San Antonio location was amazingly helpful and resourceful in finding the correctly rental location for me. Thank you very much!Sheila L.

This location was much smaller than any I have ever seen. I drove by there today 9/23 and they were expanding the property. Considering how small this town is I'm sure it will work out just fine. The people were extremely friendly and consideratewilliam L.
I did have a problem, though it wasn't really with this location. The reservation I made wasn't honored properly, and I was given no compensation for this. Instead of my pickup location being Carlinville, IL I was given Bethalto, IL, which is more than one hour away, one way (the UHaul representative insisted this was within 30 minutes when I called in...it isn't...not by mapping software, not remotely in actuality). I wasn't told this until the day before my pickup, via voicemail. Then, on the day of the reservation the trailer didn't arrive until near noon, instead of 8am. I wasn't told this until I called in when already on the road that morning to pick it up. This all seriously impacted my move timeline. Basically everyone was very nice, but UHaul in general failed me pretty hard. I was able to make everything work, but more despite UHaul, not because of it.Terence B.
Not really has to do with this location.. The experience started bad due to Uhaul shifting my reservation from the closest location to this location. This location was about 10 miles farther from the location that my close to my house. With my reservation I was allowed 37 miles from East Alton Uhaul store. Not the bethalto location. So ay the end I ended up blowing my mileage and owed additional. On top of that I requested a furniture dolly in which this location did not have. This location did call around and found one in South Roxana but if I would have used the truck I would have had to add to go another 15 miles out of the way... I know you guys move a lot of pieces around from location to location every week nut it should not be on the customer to go and pick up equipment that was reserved 2 weeks in advance and received verification of the reservation. Your rates are high as is. AGAIN this was not on this location but on Uhaul.Robert P.

Showed up an hour before their closing time of 5:00 pm as requested. As I walked into the shop, 2 kids were playing on computers. The mechanic had no idea how to fill out UHaul paperwork. The lady that worked there was gone and I had to wait 15 minutes for her to arrive. On-Line paperwork was messed up and showed no additional miles as requested. Had to call someone to fix that. While on the phone, another mechanic was walking in and out of office asking her all kinds of questions while she waited on me. After paperwork was fixed on-line....she gets a call about the church choir and that delayed leaving another 10 minutes. For something that should have taken 15 minutes...I was there close to an hour before I left with the rental. Will not recommend this pick-up location.sandy H.

Reservation was set for 10 AM. Business owner did not show until nearly 11 AM. Really messed up my schedule. Owner did come in on his Saturday just to get me the trailer, and I understand he is a busy family man, but he should not be operating the U-Haul business if he can't keep his reservation timelines.Luke D.

I received the worst service in my life. I have never experienced such a bad experience at uhaul before. From the place of picking up, to the customer care representitive I called to help assist Horton complete my process for rental. I honestly believe I will NEVER deal with uhaul after this experience. The worst service, worst customer service reps and most of all the worst truck. This truck had a death shack so bad I honestly thought we wouldn't have made it to our destination.Anthony M. S.

the women that caked us in was rude she took use that she was going to charge us for gas for the truck be choose she Bose not mow how to read the gas gage and we gust field out up at Quake trip a mile down the road the truck was clean wine we go it .there and thin I do not no were she got the sand dut we hald nothing with sand in it but thay hade samd in it sh wa fery rude to use .JOHN P.

The trailer lights were working but the turn signal and brake lights were intermittent - it checked out fine when first attached but after the trailer was pulled a short distance the brake lights and the turn signal lights became intermittent. Supposedly the lights had been fixed recently. I suggest that whenever someone repairs trailer lights that the trailer is towed for a few blocks to see if they are indeed repaired?john C.
I was told by Uhaul that the facility would be open at 7:30. They did not open until 9:00 and the person who could complete the Uhaul paperwork did not come in until 9:15. Uhaul gave me the wrong time. There were computer problems which delayed the paperwork and then the dolly and pads were left out of the truck. The owner offered to have me stop on the road and he would bring them to me, but I declined as I was already late and my loaders were waiting.DAWN T.

Horton's worked hard to make my reservation work. I reserved for a location that would be open on Saturday morning. Horton's is not, but fortunately I knew someone locally that was able to pick up the vehicle on Friday night. Had that not happened, it would have been a disaster. U-Haul needs to pay more attention to the customer needs. This is no reflection on the Horton's, they were excellent.Lynn A.

I reserved a truck three weeks in advance at a location that was convinent to me and had hours that were good for me The day before I needed the truck I Recieved a call from your agent telling me to pick the truck up at a diffrent location in another town If I wanted to go there L would have reserved it there They weren't open when I needed to return it which ment I had to make another trip to get my reciept The truck was very beat up and the roof leaked water onto my furniture A very poor experince overal !!!!JEFF E.
I used the truck as agreed. before returning, I used the chart on my paperwork, to be certain I put enough fuel plus extra to accommodate short distance from fuel station to the drop off destination. The fuel gage was exactly where it was supposed to be....but because of the terrain of the lot, the gauge showed slightly....very slightly below where it should be. I had to go put more fuel in. Then the owner engaged in a verbal confrontation with first my wife, then myself. I am so disappointed and angry about the service, especially after renting your trucks (4) times over the last year, that I may never use your company again, certainly not my drop off location.
