I made online reservation Thursday at 2, for 9 am Friday. Upon arrival at 9, the 5x8 was not available, the trailers were helter- skelter in the yard, access to the 5x9 blocked by a wrecker and disabled car. The employee tried, but claimed she never received the notice from U-Haul. She eventually found a 4x6 that was accessible, drug it out, hooked it up. I had to fill out another contract, and finally left the dealer at 9:50, almost an hour after I ecpected to just hook up a d go. The 4x9 trailer tut ed out to be too small for my needs, so I need to return next week to complete my task. This was absolutely HORRENDOUS. I fully expect to be contacted, and I'm submitting claim for the $50, as described.Michael M.

Terminate this franchise immediately. The facility was filthy and appeared to be a cross between a garbage dump and a refugee camp. The single employee was completely ignorant and obviously untrained. She was pleasant however had no ability to operate the system and little understanding of any of the business processes. 1 the truck was filthy 2 it took me 20 minutes to somehow drive the truck out of their garbage dump yard property 3 there were no packing blankets and no handtruck 4 the truck was only three-quarters full of gas although I was charged for a full tank 5 due to the incompetence of the staff it took me 45 minutes to check the vehicle out even though there were no other customers Overall this was the worst experience with a Business I've had in a decadepeter C.

I would have been nice if the truck was cleaned and ran properly also having the keys put in my hand vice telling me they should be under the front would have been great. Upkeep on your equipment should be a priority so that road side assistance should be a last resort. Very unpleasant/unprofessional experiencealvin W.

The female clerk is extremely uncooperative, curt, and unprofessional. Poor customer service skills and argumentative. I had a problem with safety issues with trailer and wanted to change my payment. She never asked me anything or what was up. Very sad. I will follow up with local owner and corporate UhaulChristopher S.

The U-haul equipment is located in the back area of this place making it very hard to access. Spent an hour total going through a maze of car parts, mud holes and cars to get the equipment we needed for our move. Was not happy. They could have brought the U-haul equipment to the front of the junk yard and had it ready for pick up.DEXTER T.

Replace them. The rep. at the desk needs attitude adjustment. The trailer needed an electrical connection extension; she said she didn't have one. Fortunately another employee stepped in and took one from another unit. The rep. didn't get a drop off location on the computer. She looked up locations on the web site and provided me with a location which had no U-Haul facility. I spent three hours and 50 miles of driving to find the eventual location after many attempts, including a convenient location which couldn't of wouldn't take the trailer because lot was full. That rep. was very helpful in finding the final drop off, another 30 miles out of the way.Joseph G.

I made reservations about two weeks out from date, I received a phone call two days before my pick up date (Saturday) notifying me that my reservation was changed to a different location. I tried to call to verify but the voicemail I received provided me with a phone number that was not an active number. The location was very tight, was not able to navigate around lot very easily. Uhaul equipment was in the woods. Feared I was going to get my vehicle stuck in mud or get a flat tire from debris in dirt .Ricardo R.

The location would not do a walk around on the truck with us, they said it wasn't necessary. we performed it one our own. They were not knowledgeable at all on the UHaul system, it took the lady 45 minutes to print our paperwork, she kept saying the system was smarter than she was.PAM H.

The trailer lights for the tow dolly were not working, neither were the brake lights, and one turn signal was not working. This impacted my ability to drive at night and forced me to have to rent a hotel room once it got dark outside. Not a great experience at all.Beverly E.
I wasn't suppose to return to this location BUT did because couldn't find the other location. I received about 10 calls from the original location and/or from U-Haul concerning my drop off. I explained to ALL that I called the U-Haul 800 # and the recovery 800 # the morning I dropped off the U-Haul at the new location with all the information BUT still continued getting calls.... so that part of the experience was not so great!NANCY E.

The distance was truely too far away from where we were moving from to where we were going to. Apparently nothing was available for this past weekend, so we not only had to drive 15 min past our new house to drive it 30 min to the old house to gather our things. The mileage was unbelieveable. No one had anything nice to say (not at this location but the one we had prefered ) about reserving on line, we got a "good luck with that". Im POSITIVE we will never use U-Haul again. First they wanted me to pick up in Savananah GA (1 hour away), the website is not very good, , and even the "regional" office where they do the routing was terrible. The cab of our truck had honey bun boxes and misc trash in it. And then to top it all off they were going to rent my u-haul because I wasnt there at 1:00 on the dot to pick it up, we got there at 4. I feel mostly we got the run around from U-Haul themself, not from location we picked up and dropped it back off at though.WENDY C.

I was very disappointed in the service that I received from J-1 AUTO & TRANSMISSION on behalf of U-haul. I received a text message on my cell phone stating that I had an overdue U-haul rental - this was not appreciated when I called in ref to this I was told that rep was busy dealing with other U-haul renters and I would need to call back in 30 minutes. When I finally spoke with rep (Jerry) he was abrupt and stated that he had handled that not to worry. After disconnecting that call I received an email stating that I had been charged a cleaning fee. I called back and spoke with Jerry again - I explained that we had in fact swept the cab and trailer of the truck (it had been raining all weekend and we did not travel any dirt roads) he informed me that he had to wash the outside and that the cleaning charge was automatic and I would need to call U-haul in ref to this. Jerry was again abrupt and not at all concerned with this issue he then disconnected the call. The convenience of his location was a definite plus; I would have even over looked the situation of being text about overdue rental (that happens sometimes). The lack of customer service and empathy tells me that I do not want to do business with J-1 AUTO & TRANSMISSION ever again in any shape form or fashion. My hard earned money can be spent where it is appreciated. How can you improve for the next customer? Inform your reps that customer service is what makes U-haul a leader in the rental business when that falls short you lose customers.DONNA B.
