My experience this time was quite wonderful! All the people I dealt with were friendly and efficient. I am very pleased because I had a very bad experience at the u-haul on Immes 2 years ago and swore I would never use your service again, but this experience changed everything! I had signed up for self pickup using my mobile device. The morning of the pickup, I could not do so. Called Uhaul and after 25 minutes on the phone, was told that the service was not available at that location. I had to go to a local Inn to meet someone. The district manager changed my booking without asking me. I received a smaller trailer. This was difficult to work with as I had to then do many trips instead of one. This cost more gas and more if everyone's time. The actual employees at KC were great. I sent an email to complain about my trailer not being there and never received a response so far.Natasha E.

I booked a 15ft truck, show up and there's no truck, I'm offered a 20ft the a 26 then she settles on a 20. I wanted to be on the road for 9am , I was there at 850 with a reservation. I left at 945, I rent a truck every month and every time it's a pain. If it was the first time I would not care but every time I rent a truck you would honestly think it was their first time doing it.Paul F.

Renting uhaul equipment is not a common conversation piece, therefore recommenation to a friend does not apply. I did to and provide a review on google maps as well. Could of received 5 stars is 1 - the equipment was easier to find. I found the plate did not match the tracking number, this took me 5 minutes to figure out (it was cold and icy outside) 2 - after hour return process should be better labelled, or brought to my attention (I know, I'm a princess) 3 - Took me a few minutes to figure out the hitch attachment method where you turn to attach. Good thing for youtube :) 4 - (going above and beyond here) - Being told the trailer adds ~20% fuel usage to a trip on a 4 cylinder SUV. See? Everybody has to complain. We are very satisfied with the uhaul in Vars Ontario. Excellent service. We are just disappointed that the uhaul in Bourget, only 5 minutes away, did not return our phone call when we left a message on their machine, as it would have been far more convenient to pick the trailer up and return it. Also, we physically went there the day before, to request a trailer and when we went there the next day to pick up the trailer, the shop was closed, no sign on the door. We were then scrambling to find another uhaul dealership. Dissatisfied with Bourget uhaul.Ernest L.
Not enough availability of smaller trucks. I only needed a 9 foot van for 3 pieces of furniture. Instead, I had to get a 15 foot. Much too large for my needs, obviously more expensive, as well as the gas expense. The staff was great, but no walk-around when picking it up. We did the online check in but still had to walk through all the questions with the receptionist despite telling her we had checked in online. She stated the computer wouldn't let her skip ahead so we had to go through all the questions again. It was a waste of time for both of us.John V.
We arrived at the scheduled pickup time, 6 pm, but the manager was not present at the location and we had to wait over an hour to get the truck. We didn't mind waiting but requested that the manager change the drop-off location for my rental to 859 Yonge St. Midland, ON L4R 2E8 to allow me to make up for the lost time driving time. Not receiving a receipt with this return location on it (after having been delayed 1.5 hours) resulted in my being incorrectly charged a $654.00 "wrong destination charge."Joseph L.

I overfilled the gas tank on return. I would like to be compensated. we also overestimated our kilometers and used only a 1/4 tank of gas. The float was not working properly or reads slowly - I filled the tank to full - 78.56 litres at a cost to me of 95.37$ - that is about $64 overpaid in gas. Empty water bottle was left in truck. No dolly. No blankets. When I was packing and unloading truck, I noticed signs indicating hand dolly and blankets to be put back and folded. I never had this equipment with me. Wasn't required, but what about the next people, they might require it. The support bracket to secure loads was broken (disconnected from panel). This would be right side of truck and in front of wheel well and towards the back. Recommending this location is boiled down to location and availability. I needed a 10' truck to move two couches and that's it. Had to take a 20' and at full rate. I wasn't happy about that but was stuck as it was a last minute move and take it or do without. I believe, we should be given a map of location where we are dropping it off. My bad for not goggling it first, but since I was overwhelmed because of the quick move I didn't think of it. And since its a business --- I believe they should've just had it mapped or send it to my iPhone.gordan P.

Having to re input information that was provided by me for online reservation is a waste of everyone's time. Location often has problems with the check-in due to lack of knowledge/ comfort with your systems. 30 min for check-in when much of the info was provided online is not acceptable. My whole experience with this rental was a total let down. Yes, I did finally get a rental truck for my task, but not before U-haul sent me to a location 42 km from home to pick up a truck. Which did not turn out, because the locatation never opened and I had to go to another location instead. I ended up being about an hour and a half late and drove about 65 kms out of my way to retrieve a truck. The truck had only a 1/4 tank of fuel in it and no snow brush to remove the ice and snow from the windshield. My main reason for choosing UHaul was Location, but I feel that I would have possibly been better off renting elsewhere! Your rating is a solid 3 out of 10, 10 being most satisfied. Personnel was not familiar with uhaul system. I was charged extra, instead of looking into the problem and fix it, I was charged the extra fee and told to contact uhaul myself and try to get refund. Made online reservation with UHaul more than a month prior to the rental date. This location was a 40 minute drive from our Preferred Pick up location. We did not get the vehicle we requested and had to wait to receive the handcart we requested. The manager did their best to accommodate us given the error made by UHaul's online team.Bruce R.

I came on Friday to ask in person to reserve a 5'x8' enclosed trailer. The girl said no problem and I asked if it would be an issue to pick it up at 7am. She said that I could come anytime because there is someone there 24 hours and I could pick it up at 5am if I wanted. When I got home I received a phone call from the owner asking me to reserve online, which I did. I reserved it for 7am. I arrived at 7am and was told that there was no one here that could help me and that I would have to wait at least 20 minutes. At 7:25am the owner arrived and did the paperwork. I hooked up the trailer and left. On the road, the trailer was shaking like crazy. I have towed many trailers of different sizes and I have never experienced something that shook so bad. There is a $50 guarantee that the trailer/truck will be there, but what about when there is no staff to serve you? I had an important meeting to get to at the office, so time was of the essence for me.Charles D.

We had requested a 10 ft truck to be picked up in Ottawa. Instead we were asked to drive 30 km to Vars to pick up a 15ft truck. The woman at the desk had very no knowledge of our request, was not helpful. The truck had 1/4 of a tank of gas. Please ask the location to fill up the tank - it is difficult to return a truck with 1/4 tank.Anna D.
The location at which we were FORCED to pick up a truck we didn't order is NOT the PROBLEM. The people at these places are just pawns in the overall U Haul scheme.The system put in place by management is negligent. We received confirmation both written and orally that a 15 FT. truck which we ordered on March 30th, 2017 from a lovely lady named Vickie would be waiting for us in Ottawa. On April 27th we received verbal and written confirmation that the truck of our choice would be waiting more specifically in Almonte at noon. There was NO more communication from your company or representatives that it would Not be waiting and available for us. We set out in good faith from Brantford Ontario at 4:30 a.m. to meet our time at noon in Almonte. Upon our arrival there was certainly a 15 Ft. truck waiting but is wasn't for us, as a matter of fact there were NO 15 Ft. trucks available at that location. We then had the poor attendant Blaire who was just as confused and upset as we were, (he said he was informed there would be a truck available for us at that location at the required time) call U Haul. We were then informed that NOT only did they NOT have another 15 Ft. truck available in the ENTIRE OTTAWA area, the only truck available all was a 26 Ft. truck at a location in VARS. When my husband complained the operator on the call, Catherine wanted to know what the problem was. I then took over the call, Catherine at that time informed me that there were no other options that this was the only solution to our problem. She then informed us there would be a $50.00 credit charge back to our Visa that would appear in the next week or so once processed. This is unacceptable. I then asked her again if this was the only solution and she said yes and that the truck would NOT be available until 4p.m. We were stuck, we had to take it as our cousin had to be out of his apartment, he had given notice. We then headed of to Vars which took another 45 minutes to get to and wasn't going to be available until 4p.m. When we got to VARS, yes, the truck was there. though the attendees that normally look after such things had left. They had a young waitress, inexperienced in the system look after us. Don't get me wrong she was lovely as well though frustrated because she couldn't get the system to work and it took her over an hour to enter our information. Then she couldn't get the contract to print and informed us that we would receive it the next day. Once again, NOT her fault. While we were there and chatting though, she let us know that the truck had been sitting... waiting since the day before. Another frustration and inconvenience added to the mix. We didn't get back to the apartment and start loading( where we had other problems, getting the elevator as we had already booked it from 1-4 p.m. that day which we had to cancel). The help that we had couldn't wait any longer either. So here we are forced to take a vehicle that was far to big for ouchristy P.

Our experience with renting one of your trucks was not good as the truck we had reserved would not start. And of course there was no other truck we could take. Booster cables were found in the building, but of course, they did not work either. So we were told we would have to wait an hour for someone to bring new cables. Since this was our moving day, having to wait for all this did not go over well. In the end, we had to call a friend to come and boost your truck. We were offered no type of apology or discount price for all the trouble and work we had to do to rent one your trucks. I would think you would keep your trucks in better condition. And because of this, I will not take a chance renting from U-Haul again.Linda S.

It would be nice if the trucks are checked to make sure they are road worthy before they are given to the customer. I had reserved a truck at uhaul in Cornwall Ontario at tollgate. The truck was a death trap. I didn't even make it home. I had to return it to uhaul. They had none to replace it so I had to drive one hour away to pick up another. This is unacceptable.aan S.

I got an email with about ~20 hours notice that my reservation in Ottawa meant a pick-up 30km out of my way, which means paying for more gas and starting my already-long day with an hour drive. I get that I booked late, but your system accepted my reservation - for in Ottawa. Fine print, sure, but it makes for a really subpar experience.KENT A.
