Where do I begin? Terrible pick up. Made us wait 1/2 an hour until they opened at 10am even though we had a 9:30 â€œguaranteedâ€ reservation. Sent us on our way with no papers signed for insurance, even though I asked if we needed paperwork. Gas level was recorded incorrectly so I was charged almost $150 extra in refueling fees. Unfriendly staff not interested in solving issues. In the morning when they weren't â€œopenâ€ yet at our reservation time ( even though they were there) i was told â€œthat's u-haul's problem not mineâ€. On phone regarding the fuel discrepancy I was met with the same attitude. He wasn't interested in helping. Just told me â€œ I checked it myself and took a pictureâ€. Wellâ€¦ I also took a picture and it didn't match our contract which was emailed to us 2 hours AFTER we picked up. Now dealing with trying to get reimbursed for the additional charges. Glad I took a photo. Ridiculous. Poorly managed. Spent 2.5 hours on phone with customer service today who at least are responsive and friendly. Thanks for the worst experience ever.Kristin M.

The fellow renting out the uhaul should know how to rent it out. I ended up reserving it in front of him using my mobile and then giving him the reservation number. Despite this. The lake trail location is still 100 times better then the guy in McPhee who's brain dead. It only took me 45 min to get my vehicle here, at McPhee it takes 2 hoursBrennen W.
Fellow on-site doing the uhaul rentals was rude, kicked us out for " trespassing " even though we were doing online check in - and said most of his uhaul customers were cranky , and unpleasant to deal with - generally that would happen as one would be reciprocating his negativity. Didn't seem interested in handling his customers with professionalism. Also was smoking while helping us with getting the truck - didn't want to move trucks around to get our unit out ( their parking area is really tight ) .Brendan M.
So I was supposed to pickup my uhaul at north island highway in Courtenay. I arrive there 10am for my trailer and a sign is up saying sorry power outage nobody here. Nobody phoned me. No heads up. I call uhaul dispatch. I get re routed to another location. I rent the trailer around noon on Oct 5. The uhaul dealer asks where can I drop off. He gives me 2 options : Langley (1hr away from my Chilliwack home) or Mission (45min away). I choose Mission. I return my trailer to Mission as required exactly 48hrs later. I'm charged $20 more for an "additional day". Return time on my order says 10am. I figured that was a "standard time" chosen my my original rental agreement that uhaul was unable to make good on due to a power failure & lack of communication. Uhaul owes me $20.Duane S.

Drop location was disgraceful - filled with old broken down equipment. Felt very sketchy to leave because Drop off after hours app did not work (kept looping back to location after pressing location - this happened on two different cel phones, both of which had location services on) so called "assistance with online pick up and drop off" number and waited 58 minutes on hold.WENDY H.
I picked my van up with 1/4 tank of gas and was told to return it the same way 1/4...what a joke, how do I know the weight of my load and the fuel consumption of this van. I returned the van with 3/4 of a tank... that's half a tank more than the amount needed...$100.00 more. No one could tell me if I would be reimbursed. However if I was $100.00 short I would be charged for damn sure. Right now I have not seen my bill only the intitial quote of 154.00 which was the bait to lure me in. I have no idea what your van move has cost me. Sorry I can't follow along..maybe give more info and responsibility to your puppet clients maybe they can salvage some of your dignity. The trailer I received had a turn signal that didn't work. Also there wasn't much for tie-downs inside it....but the lighting was my big issue. Normally I would refuse it and get another one elsewhere but it was close to closing time for the other franchisees in town and I was hung up on by each of them. So I had jo choice but to take this trailer after spending an hour trying to get another one. The guy I originally dealt with said to call the 1800 number to see what can be done. So thats what I did. I called and was forwarded to roadside assistance. It took almost an hour and 45 minutes on hold to finally speak with someone. She was trying to be helpful, but was unsuccessful in finding someone to come fix it. I was stuck with a trailer that wasn't road worthy. Good thing I wasn't in an accident because of this. I sure as heck will not be renting another uhaul again. It wasn't worth my time or my money. The whole process was frustrating and again, a huge waste of time.Christopher N.

It was so quick and easy from the moment I called them. I got a real person right away. I ordered it for the next day. It was such a quick transaction to get the vehicle. Everything worked out perfectly. Location was so convenient and the truck was perfect for the few hours I needed it. and it didn't break the bank. And the agent was professional and quick. The gentleman who served me at 1999 Lake Trail Rd, Courtenay BC was very rude. Accused me, in front of other customers, of smoking weed in the vehicle, when in fact a package of marijuana I was transporting had spilled on the seat. I had vacuumed it but apparently the smell lingered. I was never asked about fueling the vehicle, and had forgotten to in all the rush to return the vehicle. I was then charged over 80$ for using approximately 30$ worth of fuel. I don't deny my own responsibilities here, however, for me, this was an overall terrible experience on an otherwise very bad day for me, and I will now have to reconsider renting from uhaul again in the future.Patrick M.

The drop off went good. Personnel was friendly to deal with. Our only complaint was the location switch at the last minute. We had to drive further to drop off than what we had originally scheduled.Derek F.
