The new two-inch tongue latch when set on a two inch ball has quite a bit of slack as if the latch is worn to a larger diameter or was manufactured too large to start with. as one travels down the highway and encounters rough surfaces, the trailer pushes forward and back and really rattles the vehicle. When it is loaded heavily, it is not such a problem. There is no adjustment feature on the latch so maybe that is something that could be added to take up the slack in the hitch.?ray P.

Drop off was in a dirt parking lot, which was muddy and difficult to maneuver. Location has limited hours, and no one was available after 5 pm the day before drop off was due, or before 10 am on day of drop off (trailer was due back by 9 am)Herb A.

check in was a long wait (was busy selling cars) said he'd "come and get me" eventually he did. Appeared to be the only one there. Tried 3 trailers until finally one worked (electrical issues) I was ok with that. I looked it over and appeared ok. Looks can be decieving. Ten miles out of lincoln Neb. on I-80 the passenger side tire blew out. After much waiting (had to wade thru phone tree, put on hold , confusion about my location yada yada yada, finally service crew not affiliated with u-haul came and luckily had a tire and wheel for quik replacement. That was the good blow out. The next blow out (other wheel) was much more dangerous. This occurred roughly 220miles later again on a very busy Interstate (I-29 north of Sioux Falls, S. DaK) Was nearly hit buy a Semi who had little to no time to react. I was unable to get safely off the shoulder for nearly a hundred yards do to safety rails. Now the wait. Luckily I had kept an odometer log and could give an accurate mileage of how far north of the city i was because there were no exits anywhere near as sometimes occurs. About and hour went buy before the service station guy arrived. He explained that he was going to have to take the blown -out wheel and go back to the shop and replace the wheel as he had no complete wheel with him. Again the wait, and the traffic whizzing by at 80 mph. I got out of my car and walked 25 yards into the adjacent field as i had no intention of getting pancaked along with my expensive cargo in the trailer. After he finally returned he had to replace the wheel mere feet from the passersby. Scary and quite probably preventable Had UHAUL EQUIPPED THE TRAILER WITH ACCEPTABLE TIRES!!. I'm no novice at trailer towing. I actually have one of my own but rented theirs as i needed an enclosed rig. Smaller tires can get very hot if you drive too fast. For this reason I was well under the speed limit and was scrupulously avoiding pot holes and rough spots to protect my belongings. When finally I arrived at my destination, (some 3 to 4 hours late and by this time in the dark) I was pretty spent as an ordeal like this sort of wares you down. Returning the trailer the next morning (a day early I might add) there was no talk of any compensation for my troubles) . I was happy just to be alive. Sound overly dramatic? Believe me, multiple tire blow outs is no joke. Perhaps my experience will prevent this from happening to the next person with This trailer, but God help the poor bastard who encounters this same scenario in a year or 5 years or however long U-haul thinks they can get by with this crap. A refund seems appropriate. Are you listening U-haul? Or at least have a policy which ensures your tires (both) in my case, don't decide to explode at will. Suggestions: Enact some criteria which all trailer tires must meet.paul G.

Clean the equipment and make sure the unit is road worthy. Tires were bad, needed balanced and replaced, brakes were also bad. Really didn't feel like it was worth 850.00Donald Q.
My drop off time was 10 am- I called to verify that they would be open and he said they would. They didn't actually check my rental in until after 11- so they charged me for another day. Very unhappy about that- I expect my money to be returned but I doubt it will happen.Jo K.

I had to pay deposit at pickup and was told I'd get the cash back at return. They refused, said to take it up with uhaul. They set up the drop off location then set up my storage at a uhaul then wouldn't let me return to where I was storing everything, said it was 200 more, so I went 15 miles over to get to and from the storage/drop off location. I reserved this at a location at the other side of town- i went to pick it up and they sent me to this location. I was not notified of this until I went to pick it up. The truck had an exhaust problem which was so loud in the cab that I had to wear head phones to minimize the sound. I have driven many trucks and never experienced this before. The vehicle was dirty and dusty on the inside. The seats had tears in them. The steering was very loose on the truck, and the break system was weak. The app stopped working during the check in process so it took more time to get my vehicle.Casey H.

The main issue was the booking/pickup experience. The pickup location changed from Northwest 12th to S. 10th without notification to us, this cost us at least 2 hours, maybe 5 it's hard to say: neither agent at the locations knew about the change, nor did they give useful advice. "Sorry not sure" was the response 2 times, and the second agent had the audacity to call about the reservation while I was biking from the original location to the reschedule location because he wanted to go on scheduled break. I would never deny a person a break but this was adding insult to injury. I only asked for the reservation I made to be what it was. The equipment was below average. Medium Ford truck chassis doing overtime as a delivery vehicle. Poor turning radius, poor visibility, very poor power, weather stripping was falling off, had a sort of scary transmission shimmer below 55 and, had almost non-existent A/C. (smallest issue of the bunch, but when it is 95Â°, it's tough to ignore).Peter L.

I left the lot with the fuel tank just above 3/4 of a tank I drove the truck 8 miles and put 1 gallon in the gas tank read the same as when I left the lot and I was charged for not having the gas tank at the same level as when I left. The inside of the cab was dirty and smelt like a hot dumpster.Adam K.

The store was fine. The guy working was friendly and helpful. The equipment was complete garbage. I was worried the entire time that the truck would break down. Rattles like crazy. Smelled of burning oil and wires. I still can't believe that truck was in service. Not great. Be better.ALAN H.

The truck i expected to get (One way) wasn't returned to the location at the time of my reservation, so the location let me use their In-Town truck, which required me to return to the location (an extra 60 miles). If not for a reduction on per mile rate, this would have been a more frustrating and costly experience.Daniel M.

I was given a much larger truck than reserved. I understand that the truck I rented was not available, however I did not expect to drive such a larger vehicle which cost me much more in gas due to poor MPG. Not a fair way to do business.Steve H.

I rented a truck the same day and size at a different location. It wasn't big enough so I had to rent a second truck. This location charged me $72.46 higher then the first truck. Mileage was also higher not a fanJulie L.

The particular 10-foot truck we used had a broken/defective driver-side sun visor that was not only annoying as it drooped down with each bump in the road but also very potentially hazardous as it could momentarily block the driver's view of the road. Otherwise great experience, owner was prompt and easy-going.Nathan D.

When making reservation I was told 85 free miles. There was also a drop off fee at another city. I changed the reservation to be brought back to the same location. They told me I would not get 85 free miles. It cost me more money then I was told. Not impressed with the pricesJulie L.

Unfortunately the truck was very dirty, filthy really. The truck was also in very poor driving condition. The alignment is completely off and more you increased your speed the worse it got. Then when you would go to brake it would knock terribly and then get stuck in gear not allowing you to accelerate or break immediately if need be. Very unsafe. I then returned it with a quarter of a tank of gas and was still charged $18+ dollars for gas. Akso, I only had the truck an hour for a 1 piece furniture move, and when I returned it the shop was closed at 2 p.m. . So I took pictures and submitted a request for a refund. I've rented many trucks from Uhal, always great, but the experience was not. The truck was unfit to be used and a definite liability.shannon C.

I scheduled my appointment at a different location than this one. As I was on my way to the location I had booked, I pulled up the UHaul App and it told me I was at the wrong location. When I booked my rental it told me there was a truck at my original location available. Kind of a pain to get notified and have to drive farther to an inconvenient location at the last minute.Kraig V.
Offer parking for customers that might pick up trucks by themselves. I was moving my mother by myself and didn't have anyone with me when I picked up the truck, had I not spoke with an agent my vehicle would have been towed. They do not allow for your personal vehicle to be parked on the premises. Might want to include that information before hand.Natalie M.
