The truck was not at the location promised, the location I was sent to did not know how to get the lock box open, i had to get in contact with dispatch, it was a big hassle, finally got the truck, but no moving dolly, no furniture pads, had to go to different location, where i was orginally scheduled, they had the pads, but no dolly. when done, had to return the pads to different location than returning the truck to, still more hassle. the truck itself was perfect, clean and worked well for the move. it was just all the jacking around to get the truck, and the accessories, that's what made the experience awful. paul 952-846-9887Paul S.

The truck was in terrible condition. It leaked like a sieve, the engine had no power, and halfway during my trip all the alarms went off for the brakes and steering. Vehicle lacks necessary maintenance which created a very unpleasant journey. It's unlikely that I would choose U-Haul as my preferred moving vehicle provider ever in the future.James H.

The guy who runs the Uhaul location gave me permission to park in the lot and then had my car towed by his friends located behind the Uhaul lot. It cost me 350$ to get my car back. I had to switch multiple trucks due to missing keys, and trucks parked in compromising positions. The truck I was finally able to get had such bad alignment, that It was difficult to drive. Overall the worst truck rental experience I've ever had. 0 out of 5 stars.Jared F.

The only thing I would suggest at this location is move the sign out more to see name of place, we drove by it the first time but no problem. We couldn't have asked for any better service, the guy that helped us was friendly, knowledgeable, and since we had an issue on our connector end of our hitch, he was able to help us with that and the 2nd trailer worked just great with lights and all after he found the problem. Not sure, as there were many people were involved in this rental, which didn't know what they were talking about, including a manager from U haul with guaranteed me this trailer would be available at the U haul dealer in North Port, Fl. loccated on pan american blvd. It wasn't and didn't find out until about 2 hours prior to my pickup time. There was broken glass and plate pieces on the trailer floor, He was no help, even though I showed him my paid receipt from a previous U haul dealercraig W.

U-haul changed the pickup location the day before. While your text said the new address, it did not explicitly say that the location changed. I went to the original location first. The new location gave me a trailer that was stored with its door slightly open. I had to clean the dirt inside. The location wasn't aware or ready for me to pickup trailer. I had to insist that they check that the lights were operating correctly.Thomas S.

I had poor service at this location. The clerk who wasn't busy asked me to get the odometer and fuel level for the truck I and car dolly rented for a 1 way move. It would have been very easy to take advantage at this point. I was honest. I did this but felt it wasn't my place to do this. The building and store was dirty and very unorganized. I understand about blocking some things off because of Covid. So when you walked in for the first time it was pretty much a shock compared to the other locations I've been in with helping other's move. I asked more than once for a copy of the contract. I was told it would be emailed to me. He would not give me a hard copy of the contract. 4 day's later when I went to deliver the truck and car dolly off at the designated location. I still hadn't received my email. We called him at 4: 30 PM and he tried to say it wasn't him we picked the equipment from. Had us verify to him the address location and equipment we picked up. Then the clerk gave us another phone number to call, which we did. Again we verified my email address. He had the correct address. The clerk had us text him my email address . At 4: 45 wwhen we called him back and he told us they were closed, by the clerk when it clearly says he's open till 6 pm. We called the 1800 number. The lady we talked to was very helpful and she confirmed my email address. To date I still haven't received an email for the contract. I delivered the truck and filled out the application for delivery on my phone which was fairly easy. I'm very disappointed in the U Haul companyGary B.

Were not there when the hours said they were open, we scheduled to pick up at 7:30 and had to wait until 8:30 until an employee arrived. We lost more than an hour of our paid help to load. The location was very dirty and unprofessional in appearance and behavior. The truck was very dirty. We had to clean before loading our stuff into it. It had been used for construction materials so had drywall mud and dust, concrete dust and aggregate in it. The employee was unapologetic and unhelpful.Creager S.

Closed down gas station with no service and no personnel. Our pick up was to be 5pm, but was auto changed to 6pm. We waited for help which never arrived. We called uhaul and waited on hold for 15+ minutes. I later found 2 small lock boxes on building with no signage. It was then I figured I would see if setting up APP and signing in would help the process or alert an attendant that we were waiting at his store. After going through the check in, we were given a code to the little key box and found the key in order to now realize this was all self check-in. I then followed all the steps and then after much aggravation for me and my ride, I was on my way. The self check in itself was fine, but without knowing that is the process the first time is just awful. ADD AN ATTENDANT, OR SIGNAGE, OR CLEARLY IDENTIFY THE PROCESS DURING RENTAL PRICESS - COMMUNICATION WITH THE. CUSTOMER IS KEY TO A FLAWLESS EXPERIENCE AND SETS THE EXPECTATION UP FRONT. Same happened on the return. Thought we needed an attendant to return the truck, again nobody at the building. Figure self check out might give us a code to put key back in lock box. Completed he self heck out, but no code was provided at the end! So frustrated I was going to put the key in the bed and leave, but my wife happened to see a beat up key box on the left corner of the building adjacent to the two small key boxes on the front left of the building. Again signage and communication relative to process is very lacking. The good points - the 26' unit was awesome. Only 6K miles, clean, comfortable, modern, great ride, braking, engine power, the price structure is appropriate and a great model. When not traveling high mileage, it is very cost effective and encourages me to rent more frequently rather than overloading a personal truck or making several trips.Robert H.

I orig ally ordered the trailer at a place that was a mile away. I get a ransom call saying can you pick it up a day wailer. I said sureZ. So I go to the spot where I originally ordered it and the doors where locked. So I call that number back who called me. He said the doors aren't locked. I said well where do I go then. He said 5 miles uo the road. So I go there and again I ordered this online for 123. He tells me it's 165. I said no it was 123. He said so no Insurance. I said that's what I put on the internet. Then he says ok it's outside. I got out there abs hook it up on my own. It was covered in leaves and sticks. I hook it up by myself and drive away while the leaves and sticks go in the main road. Terrible experience. And I rent a lot of trailers from y'all because I buy and sell carsKevin A.

I chose this location because they showed having the size truck I needed and because it was close to where I was going to load it. I scheduled an 8AM pickup for a truck an dolly. I had had driven for 3 hours to get to the pickup location I was there before 8AM. Then I waited about an hour before anyone showed up He gave me the keys to the truck that was all (no paper work) .He did not have a dolly and told me I would have to go to another location to get one, which I did. He was not very helpful and I was not happy. At the location where I picked up the dolly They printed off my paper work for me. They were helpful! The window of the truck needed to be cleaned otherwise the truck was ok. As a result I was delayed in getting started with loading. Again not happy.Larry S.

I had rented pick up & trailer.. When I arrived I was notified that there was no hitch adapter block/ ball & had to buy one .. How can you rent a truck & trailer without adapter & expect client to buy one .. unacceptable . Regards Ken Russell-MurrayKen M.
Location is very dingy and not well maintained. The pick up truck i rented was disgusting. It took me 2 hours when I got it home to clean and sanitize it before I felt comfortable with being in it. Not good during this stressful COVOD 19 time. I complained the evening i rented it and General Mgr Paul Bottitta reached out to me with a $25.00 credit for my trouble. However you must do something with this location because I will not rent from there again.Dennis S.

I was overcharged $100. The proprietor added an extra 100 miles to my 16.5 mile trip. He did not check me out when I returned the vehicle,he stated that he would send me a receipt. He also entered the return time as 3:07pm when it was actually 1:00pm. I will not use this location and will advised all my friends and family not to as well. Although we had registered to drop off our trailer at this location well in advance and had the paperwork to prove it, the man at this store told us to go away and take our trailer somewhere else. He was so rude and didn't seem to care that we had just driven 15hrs straight and had already arranged this as our drop off.He was very angry with us for wanting to bring the trailer there and barked at us where to put it when my husband challenged him on this policy after being told to go away to he airport across town. He did not help direct us into a spot to unhitch & walked around with his arms crossed Or texting on his phone back inside his store -with very curt replies as to where we should leave our already folded moving blankets. He was angry bc too many people had been dropping off trailers and I guess he would have preferred trucks instead. Not sure why U-Haul continues to do business with this man as it was an uncomfortable experience and borderline aggressive interaction. Needless to say we were as polite as possible and got out as fast as we could! I would most definitely NOT recommend this for U-Haul customers.JOHN R.

1) Had to hook up myself (68 years old) or he would charge me $20 for him to hook up. NEVER experienced this at a 'real' UHAUL store. 2) Trailer was not what I ordered. I wanted a 5'x9' with a motorcycle choke in the front so I could haul my motorcycle. This one did not have that feature. While calling in the parking lot I was on hold for almost an hour being bounced around to different centers, each with their own waiting time... 3) Finally, this trailer was all beat up with multiple scratches and dents. When I picked up the vehicle the person that I got it from took the keys right from the drop off box then gave them to me and I immediately had a bad feeling. (Assuming he never checked the fuel levels or mileage from last renter) I noticed about $196 worth of a hold put on my credit card that I used to reserve it which I found odd for a truck rental that was 29.99 for the day. When I got into the vehicle the fuel was pretty much empty but I had a short trip so I moved forward. I used the truck for 4 hours and a total of 14 miles. The truck was reasonably clean which is about the only positive thing I could say. Once I returned the vehicle the hold stayed on my card for 4 days and when I did finally get charged, what I was expecting to be 44 dollars was over 100. I was charged for 2 dolly's that did not come with the vehicle and I never received, and a fuel fee of 30 dollars plus 4 gallons of fuel after I put in 2 gallons to replace what I used. I will never use uhual again and frankly after this I would rather have carried every item we moved the 2 miles the move actually required over getting charged for things I never received or used.Zack W.

After hours drop off Was given a previous drop off closer to my house, went there first and app would not allow me to self return. Had to go another 20 miles round trip to self returnwylan N.
Upon arrival, my truck would not start. There was no one around to help, I was put on hold for 45 minutes to even get to talk to someone from U-Haul to explain my scenario. Upon explaining that I was on a tight time table and needed to just switch out to a truck that worked, it was explained to me tha was not an option and I had to wait up to an hour for someone to look at this truck and attempt to get it running. An hour and a half later, a man came and changed the battery. By this time, we had lost all of our helpers who were willing to help us move, got eaten up by mosquitoes, was waiting in the dark at night in a very unsafe location and did not end up even getting to move anything that evening as planned. Never, ever, ever, will I pick up a truck from U-Haul when there is not a human there to help. Ridiculous and terrible customer service.Shelly V.
