The truck was dirty and the engine light was on the whole drive. We had to stop 4times to check it. I tried to call but only got message after message. My rate was wrong as far as the total and I feel I should have been compensated because it took so long to get moved because of the truck not working properly and had to make so many stops I did not put the gas in it because I was worried I would get stuck again on highway. Check out was not working and the guy said he would take care of it. I felt very uneasy about that because I never got paperwork when I left or returned.Dawn R.

The online only experience was very frustrating with the app crashing several times with no indication if I had completed the process. I didn't know until I got a message from my bank saying money had been taken out of my account. Truck was fine and the place I rented from was wonderful, letting me hold onto the truck for a couple of extra hours. Just the online experience was frustrating and I will use in person next time.Barrett J.

I originally scheduled this pick-up at a location that offered a Sunday option. On Saturday morning I received a call from the Richmond Central dispatch saying that the trailer that I reserved was not available at that location and could I pick it up at Millers which was closer to my location. After agreeing to this I received a call from Millers say that they were not open on Sunday so I changed the pickup to Monday morning. This interfered with my being onsite when the Moving Company was loading up the rest of my household. This was not Millers fault.Theodore B.

The truck itself had a lot of areas of damage on the outside, the inside was very dirty and literally mud on the floor. I was trying to do online check-in but I had to get the keys from inside at which point they checked me out but I never received paperwork for the rental or entered pics/gas/mileage/etc. When I returned the truck, after adding 11 gal of fuel, they said it started with 7/8 of a tank. I went 28 miles, filled it up from 1/2 to 3/4 because I didn't notice how much fuel I started with. With needing extra fuel per their log this would've meant that I used 3/8 of tank and approx 16 gal of fuel resulting in 1.75 miles per gal. This has to be impossible.Brent D.

I loved the convenience of "no contact pickup/drop off"! However, I feel a little more could have been handled in advance so that pickup could have been expedited. I tried to be diligent in showing pictures of prior damage. But it was difficult. I know there were stickers showing prior damage, but it was hard to tell where the previous scratches may have begun/ended. I did picture some additional scratches that i thought were noteworthy. It would be helpful if it was shared with the renter what minor damage needs to be identified. Also, I wasn't sure where to add those pictures that I wanted to send. I called the customer service rep and she guided me to send to her email address. The return process was easy. However, with returns being done "after hours", it needs to be understood that some pictures are more difficult to show details of the cleanliness of truck, location of parking, etc. Overall I give a B+ to my experience with U-Haul today. Thanks for introducing the no-contact reservation. That receives an A+!SUSANNE C.
The 800# needs to let customers be aware of the closing times of the U-Haul pickup locations. I had specified my pickup time would be around 3:00pm and when I went to get the rental I was almost denied service because they closed their U-Haul department at 2:00pm. I want to recommend that the fuel should always be picked up and returned on a full tank. It doesn't make any sense to have to head straight to the gas station after pickup. It's the easiest solution for everyone's time and money as you don't have to guess how much to put in to make it to a certain level and when you pickup you're ready to go.Margaret B.
