Dispute Reference #5772820 The truck was dropped off within 8 hours of being picked up and yet we were charged an extra $80 or so for an extra day as well as another $16 charge for insurance (which was a result of the error by the other office). So now we were charged $16 twice. When we tried to deal with the issue, the customer service agent could only "elevate" the issue and send our pictures of mileage and the date of return to the drop off location for a follow up instead of resolving it herself. Now we have to take more time to explain and resolve the situation again with someone else. Still no satisfaction as of yet.

How is it even possible that I drove 8km and burned 12 liters of gas? Even 8 liters I was officially charged is ridiculous. I am very unhappy with this experience

Archie HHorrible experience. Told by a employee to move the truck to another area and he disappeared. Could not locate the Uhaul office and was told by another business next to the drop off parking, that the office is in the flea market. Had to ask three people to find the office. Employee told me to go back out to find the guy in the parking lot to check in the truck. I refused, gave her the key, and left. Horrible experience.
ARNOLD SInitially paid $75. Total kilometres run 23. Vehicle returned at 5.00PM. Original fuel marker was between 1/4 & 5/16. Vehicle refueled at Petro Canada (Canadian Tire branch) upto 5/16 mark. Receipt provided along with the key as advised by the Petro Canada cashier. In the new invoice refuelling charges of $13 is not acceptable. Will be contesting this claim in person with the UHaul representative.
MELWYN PLot was not well signed. I basically drove into the back lot and parked with all the other U-Haul vehicles. The back lot was muddy and there was garbage everywhere. There was no drop box for keys. I did the online return and handed the keys to the clerk in the office. She took them but said there was an employee in the lot. A bit confusing but manageable.
christopher p“Office” is inside a flea market. You p/u the key there and have to drive all the way to the back where the vehicles are, find it amongst all the other ones (!!) then you submit pictures of all sides of it and verify the gas, mileage etc. The truck desperately needs a new exhaust system (!!!) and the check engine light was on the whole time. If it was really cheap I’d say go for it, but this place is pretty sketchy.
Gregory PThe mobile pickup option is messed up, you can not just do the check in by yourself, you need to find a person to get the keys from? And the person start asking things about your renta, informations which you already provided in the app and already put as part of the “self check-in”? Instructions on the app are not correct for both check in and drop off which generates frustration, delays and confusion. Definitely not like any UHaul experience I had before, 1/10

Loi TThe guy working in the booth at the Mavis location was polite/good customer service. I would not recommend this location because there no parking at the front and U-haul lied. I returned the vehicle at 4:45 pm and dropped the key in the drop box at 4:48pm - Sunday April 12, 2026 and they lied on the receipt that the vehicle was returned at 8:45pm. I have pictures of the pickup/return. Mileage/gas...etc, the vehicle.
hyman ci had a 15’ truck booked for over a week. went to get it using self pick up on Saturday morning at 9am. there were no keys left behind and the business didn’t open until 1030. called customer service and they transferred my booking to another location. had to drive there then wait in line to be served. finally had my truck (1/4 tank of fuel remaining and flashing engine light). $350 paid for the day. i think ill go with enterprise next time.
Jake Mpick up and drop off was super easy. ordered a furniture dolly but it wasnt included so that was disappointing. Also the app would not let me upload photos of the truck/equipment before use. This bug needs to be fixed

ALI JThe car was not where it was supposed. It took me 1.5 hours to locate the car and made me super late. I ordered and paid for moving mats and they were not provided in the vehicle and i have made a claim but have not heard from the location yet.
Matthew VTruck’s cabin was very dirt, with mud spilled all around the dashboard, and with food remains. Parked on a muddy parking lot with difficult access. Truck was damaged on the right side and on the front bumper. Requested items on the reservation (sheets, carts etc) were not available.

Ashley MThe rear right tire was low pressure when I picked up the truck and I tried to filling it air from 2 gas stations but couldn't reach more than 70 psi because their machines weak and have only 80 psi and the requirements for this truck is 110psi so it was unsafe to drive it on highway to Windsor!!
MURAD AThe vehicle was leaking gasoline, the odor in the vehicle was unbearable, the odor outside the vehicle was even more pungent and embarassing, and the leaking damaged driveways and walkways at both properties the move was between. I had to find cardboard/materials from the move to catch the fuel leak underneath the car while I moved my things in/out of the vehicle.

Umut UThe truck came to us with little to no gas and had to fill it up and hoping we could reach a gas station when we picked it up! Also it was filthy dirty and smells like years of no cleaning.
Joshua BMy experience with U-Haul was extremely disappointing and not reflective of a professional business. Reservations are clearly absolutely pointless and useless, because I never got the truck I reserved a MONTH prior. The staff were equally unhelpful and liars, as I was repeatedly led to believe a truck was available at another location when it really wasn't. I was late for my move, and had to make 2 trips instead of 1, spending more in gas, and added unbelievable amounts of stress to an already stressful moving day. Horrible. I hope we can get more compensation for this horrible service and inconvenience. What was the point of booking a truck in advance if it wasn’t going to be there? And instead of calling to let us know it wasn’t available, we find out when we get there. What a joke. Simply unacceptable and pathetic from a company that has been around so long.

Lindsey KThe tyre was kept in ice for so long. Once it was used it broke flat on the road putting us at risk. Thank god someone on road told us that the inner tyre was flat and that we had to waste our time for roadside assistance for over 2 hours. On top of that, we were charged extra for the delay. When we repoted about this incident, it was promised that we will be contacted to get more information, no one called and we still paid full and extra cost for all this which happend.
Edwin JMy experience at this location was extremely disappointing for several reasons: 1. Although I had a confirmed reservation for 9:00 a.m., I was required to wait in line for approximately one hour before being served. 2. There were no seats available for customers waiting, which made the long wait even more uncomfortable. 3. I had prepaid for the truck rental, as well as a dolly and moving blankets. However, the staff was unaware of these additional items, and they were not placed inside the truck. As a result, I had to carry them myself afterward, which was both inconvenient and frustrating. 4. I originally selected a pickup location close to my home when making the reservation online. However, the pickup location was changed to a farther branch without proper justification. This resulted in additional fuel costs and unnecessary inconvenience. It raises the question of what the purpose of making an online reservation is if the pickup location can be changed unilaterally. While the truck itself was in good condition, the customer service and overall organization at this location were well below expectations. I hope this feedback is taken seriously so improvements can be made for future customers.
DANIEL VUnfortunately, this was not the best rental experience. At this location, it is not possible to pick up the vehicle independently using the “Mobile Pickup” option. The location only opens at 9:00 AM. The employee who was working that day when I arrived had difficulties with the system. My reservation was scheduled for 9:00 AM, but I was not assisted until 9:20 AM — even though I was second in line. There were issues with the computer, printer, and internet connection. When I finally received the keys at 9:30 AM, I discovered that my vehicle was blocked in by another U-Haul truck, and I was unable to exit. I had to return to the office and ask for assistance to be let out. After that, I realized the vehicle was not fueled, which required me to spend additional time refueling before I could finally begin my move. I would like to acknowledge the young woman who arrived a bit later that morning. She handled the subsequent customers’ issues efficiently, coordinated everyone effectively, and, at my request, moved the vehicle that was blocking the exit as quickly as she could.
YURII KI'm not exaggerating, but I think those two have had the slowest customer service I've ever experienced. They're seriously lazy. I've rented trucks from you before and I've never had such a bad experience until yesterday.

VU CMy experience at this location was extremely disappointing. When I walked up to the counter, there was no acknowledgement at all. The employee continued eating and talking to another staff member instead of assisting me. When I asked if the other person was a customer, he responded, “You are the customer,” which already made the interaction uncomfortable. Customer service was very poor, and the attitude from the employee at the counter was unprofessional. When I declined the insurance, she made a comment to the coworker beside her saying, “She refused insurance,” which was unnecessary and made both me and my son feel awkward and unwelcome. On top of that, the equipment I rented was not in the truck. Instead of bringing it to us, my son had to walk all the way from the back to the front in freezing temperatures to get it himself. It was clear the employee was more interested in chatting and going home than helping customers. This was a horrible experience from start to finish. Thankfully, I don’t have to move often, but if I ever do, I will never return to this location.

Wasim NVehicle was very poor condition. Not well maintained. Dirty with tea and other spills. Took 1 hour to get my vehicle as they process too slowly. Vehicle alignment and axle was moving, couldn't bear the load and was going out of lane while driving. It was too risky to drive the vehicle
Brijesh RHave extra staff available on weekends. It took 45 minutes to check out and then there was a mistake on the mileage which required going back in again. The app was useless, text messages didn't arrive, and I wasn't able to load the picture of my license. All around a fairly frustrating experience.

She dealt with one customer at a time and only kept trying to reconnect her computer. From 9:00 am I finally was able to pickup truck at 10:45 while I had helpers waiting....

Colin HI am writing to request a refund for an incorrect fuel charge that was applied to my recent U-Haul rental. At the time of pickup, the U-Haul representative informed me that the fuel level was at one-quarter tank. However, the vehicle was not at one-quarter when I received it. I did not use any fuel during my rental, yet I was still charged for refueling. I have photo evidence taken at the time of pickup, which clearly shows the fuel level. You can also verify this by checking the before and after mileage, which confirms that no fuel was consumed during my rental. This charge is unfair and does not reflect the actual condition or usage of the vehicle. I kindly request that fuel charge be refunded after reviewing the provided evidence. Please let me know if you require the photos or any additional information from my end. I appreciate your prompt attention to this matter and look forward to a resolution.

MOHAMMED ABooking the truck, truck availability, customer service was great. Final bill was processed correctly and quickly. However, a couple things about this location. It's located in the Mississauga Flea Market which is really busy to get in and out of on weekends. There was one service representative in the office who has to take calls and service the line up. Very friendly but it seems too busy for one person. The back door on our first van was broken but they gave us a replacement right away. The vehicle was clean but had no windshield washer fluid which I had to refill myself, but worked out very well for our move. Lots of space and power for our full load. Overall, renting from this location was good and would recommend, just plan ahead for pick up and drop off.
