I was first very shocked at the Northlake Auto repair location, when after filling out the online form to rent a 15' truck through the phone, it said I had to go inside and pick up the key from a person. The phone clearly said I have to wait until 7:00 am to pick up the key. Seeing it was already 7:30 I went into the shop and asked to pick up my rental. The mechanic Juan Delgado looked at me and said, "uhaul doesn't open until 8." I told him my reservation was for 7:30 and then showed him the confirmation email. He turned to his computer and started typing without saying anything. After a minute or two he said, "I dont know how you were able to reserve a truck here because I dont have any left. The two trucks here are already reserved for later." I again showed him my reservation and told him I needed the truck. He sighed and asked how long I needed the truck for. I told him about 4 hours. He then started to continue typing on his computer. He handed me some paperwork and said to sign it then looked at me and said, "I need the truck back around 11:30am can you do that?" I told him I was pretty sure I could. I went to start moving into my new apartment. Around 11am I got a call from Juan asking where his truck was. I told him I was about half way done with unloading the truck. He was upset and said his client was there to pick up the truck and he would be charging me $500 in late fees. Then hung up. I called the customer service line for uhaul to report the incident because I left my car in the auto shop parking lot and was afraid something would be done with it. Valerie and Chris were very helpful from uhaul customer service. I am still waiting to see what will be done about Juan and the Northlake location

Well I picked up truck with 3/4 of fuel return it with 7/8 fuel got charged for 13.50 fuel used would like to have credit back

We left a couple of items in the cab of the truck by mistake, but the U-Haul staff recovered them and kept them safe until we could stop by to pick them up.

The gentleman that was at the counter greeted me immediately, came right outside to show me where to unhook the trailer, and then did all the work disconnecting it while complimenting my trailer back up skills.

It was really a pleasure in working with, I think his name is Jim. Walking into an auto repair shop at 7:00 in the morning and smelling the aroma of fresh popcorn being pop. Wow! His whole attitude was a Blessing to my husband and I. He showed us and gave us all the information we needed to know about the truck. He went he and beyond giving us information.

This comment has nothing to do with Northlake auto repair, they were very helpful. When I reserved my truck online , I did the self pick up. You sent me all the way to river grove to come to find out that your app doesnt work and i had to wait and call you to let you know and then you send me to another location. Not very convenient at all. Please find people to fix your app

Tie downs inside box totally unacceptable for anything other than a rope. No floor tie downs, otherwise, nice piece of equipment.

The only issue I had was the van that was given to me smelled like hot garbage. When the owner gave me the van I noticed the smell. He went around back and pulled out two large bags of garbage and walked away. I had to drive with the windows down to try to air out the van. Thank goodness my drive was that long.

The reason I give this rate is because someone change my location and time when I got people ready, they send to a far location with the wrong time. Absolutely ridiculous, was a very frustrating experience. The fault was from who ever schedule not the provider, Jim and Michael were really good on there locations.

You must ALWAYS clean each vehicle after it has been returned. I always get a van for my DJ'ing events, and every time, I always have to clean up the back of the van. I should not have to do this, but I do it so my equipment does not get dirty. Otherwise, the service is good.

Someone left their trash in the back. Plus I should not been charge for 2 galloons of gas. I should of check in not believe the employee he would check me back in, because I checked the gas tank and it was the same as I got it because I didn't even go far. I know better next time. Gas is not 4.00 a galloon. This location took 8.00 to much from my account. I will not use this location again. And will tell other people what they did. I will go back to Bellwood location.

Long wait to get attended. Finally when I did get attended, they didn't have the truck I ordered due to the U Haul network not recognizing this site as a dealer. I was offered a smaller van which in the end worked out but I was unable to stand up in it, so that meant I had to climb in and out more often taking a toll on my bad knees.

Truck and service at this location was great. However, the only issue I had was when Uhaul never notified me that they changed my original pickup location. Because of that I lost time and money. I'd be looking to rent from other companies next time.
