James KMy only issue is with the communication from U-Haul. There are things that weren’t communicated by U-Hail that are very important if one is not familiar with your process. I wasn’t told that I needed to pick up the reservation within an hour. I wasn’t told that the location would be closed. (Location was changed the day before pick up) So when I showed up at 10:30 to pick up my vehicle, the location was closed and the rental email didn’t show any instructions. I had to call the central office number to see what was going on and they informed me that my rental had been canceled but they were easily able to re-activate it and I’d need to download the app to check in and get the key and vehicle. Once I knew what I needed to do it was super easy. This isn’t a reflection on the location, just could’ve used better communication after making the online reservation.

Bart EI will be issuing a formal complaint once my trip was done. I placed a one way trip from WV to AZ on March 6, 2026 with a pick up at cheat lake U-Haul. I reserved the truck with a bench seat as three people were going on the trip. It cost me $1,300 with insurance and supplies, which I did not fully get. I got a call from a different dealership across town telling me they had my truck. I go there and the truck did not have the bench seat. They said I could understand grade to a 15ft, but the nearest was columbus, Ohio. Now, I had to pay $400 to take the 10’ truck to Columbus and get a truck with a bench seat. In Columbus, I paid $2,100 for the upgraded truck. So, I went from paying 1,300, which was refunded to then paying $2,500 because of U-Haul’s multiple mistakes. They also had me returning the truck back to St. Alban’s WV, which makes no sense as all my records show Tempe, AZ. I was offered zero compensation or discount, and was told I could put a crate between the chairs for the third person. If that was to uncomfortable, I was told a smaller lawn chair should fit. I would like to say they were joking, but the rep at the location and the lady on the phone said a chair should fit easily. Is this how U-Haul wants to be represented? To even indicate that type or seating with no seatbelt is beyond comprehension. That was from two separate U-Haul reps. As I said a formal complaint will be filed as paying $1,200 more is inexcusable especially when U-Haul botched a reservation made on March 6th.

Felipe STruck was not clean when I picked it up and when i tried to let uhaul know through the app when returning truck they tried to charge me the cleaning fee. It had dog hair all over and smelt really bad plus had a bottle with spit in it behind the seat.

MICHAEL BI had to walk across the lot, 75 yards probably to the next to furthest away from the building. It was jammed in-between 2 other trucks. Both sides of the mirrors were folded in (I am a big guy with a healing hip injury) I barely had enough room to squeeze between the door to even get in. Then I had to blindly back out into the lot. Didn't have enough room to fold the mirrors out first. Then with my injured hip get out and flip the mirrors out, and then get back in to check and the back out again to readjust. Then had to back up to the salesperson to hookup the trailer. He was having difficulties I had to keep moving forward and backward and forward again. The attendant pretty much just bolted back to the building with no other comments. I Then recieve a text message about checking plates and taking pictures, none of which were ever explained or even warned about. The link was garbage and left me with more questions than answers. The tank was not full as told to me by the attendant. The wires were trash when it rained left me with nothing but streaks and at night with the very poor quality headlights that shined yellow. It was a very dangers truck to be driving in the rain at night. I was also told when I reserved it that they would do me a favor on lowering the cost from $1.29 a mile to a lesser amount. But that guy wasn't even there when I picked it up. Felt kind of like a bait and switch almost, very shady. I don't know but I paid for 500 miles only used 470 and got refunded like $8.00. Math just doesn't add up to me.

BRUCE AFor starters, you need to train your employees on even the most basic shit. Such as that dual axle trailers have surge brakes. Or whether or not you’ll bill me for three days if I’m going to return the trailer on a Sunday, as I’ve been charged different amounts for the same duration week-to-week depending on the employee I interacted with. Also, you need to actually check your lot for returned trailers and not bill for extra days when the trailer was sitting right where I was asked to leave it on drop off. Your employees are idiots; do better.
JACKSON MThe tires are half flat and offer little to no traction. Also, it was filthy. I had to spend my own time cleaning off the windows and mirrors just to be able to see. Also, I booked this at the Westover location, but UHaul just ignored h the e request and placed it at the other location without any update. Terrible service.

JOSE HI really want to give kudos to the young man who helped us. His name I think was Robert. In addition to him showing up where the shift worker before hand wasn't there, the systems were down and he had to manually assist us in getting our reserved truck out. He was patient, courteous and helpful, in a situation which could stress anyone. When we returned the truck, he even reached out about an item of value we accidentally left on the dash. He is really an asset to making things work and was a bright spot in a stressful day.

JASON CThe tires were not maintained causing a blown out tire. While UHAUL roadside was wonderful once I was able to get in contact with them, the location did not ANSWER THEIR PHONE even after I called them 5 times do to the UHAUL app not working properly, on top of this their voicemail box was full, after the third call I was being sent straight to "voicemail" where i couldn't leave a message to have someone call me back (calls were made on a Saturday during operatong hours). While I was able to get assistance the lack of communication from the location was frustrating.

JAMES RWas supposed to have a utility dolly, did not get one. Had people helping me move all my appliances and furniture on this day & it was a disaster! Also had trouble opening the lock to get my key out because of the freezing weater(I know it wasn’t this locations fault alone). It was picked up between 11 & 12, I believe, lot wasn’t plowed yet, but it was being done while I was there. Tried stopping the guy for help, he ignored me until I all but stepped in front of him to ask for help opening the lock, he said he didn’t have anything to help (I told him I just need help with the lever, it was hard to move, thought it was frozen). Had trouble getting on U-Haul sight. Spent an hour the night before trying to fix it so I wouldn’t have trouble the next day, well, I did. Had to call U-Haul for help again. This agent wasn’t able to help and didn’t know why. I managed to get on my reservation somehow to do the check in but got kicked out in the middle of it. Called U-Haul again to make sure it registered as me picking it up so I didn’t get stopped for a stolen vehicle. It did check me in. Got my receipt, charged me for the dolly & gas. Called the U-Haul location, refunded dolly but couldn’t do anything about gas because I agreed to it when I checked in. Nonetheless, I took pictures of it before I started and ended with more gas than what I began with and got charged for me. My experience was a nightmare, beginning with the night before!!!
Brooke GPickup and drop off was amazing, however the U-Haul trailer itself I was not happy with, a ramp would have been great but having a trailer without a tongue jack is unacceptable.
