I had difficulty while driving, bumpy ride with hard to steer many times. Upon stopping for gas I discovered the front tire were horribly worn out. The inside third of both tire were wore down past to a bald state. There need to be better inspections while performing service checks. The tire were illegal.

Had to correct them on over charge for mileage. But they corrected. Corporate should only charge insurance for days used not days allowed. Someone else is going to rentbthe truck the next day and get insurance when I already paid for it. Corporate double charging. Uhaul BS

This comment really has more to do with the equipment than the location, and with U-Haul as a company. The owners were very helpful overall. However, getting "upgraded" from a tow dolly to the auto transport was the biggest mistake ever. Four hours into my trip, the driver's side tire was smoking. Since it was behind me, I couldn't see it; fortunately, a passing driver flagged me down to stop. I called U-Haul's roadside "assistance" and was on hold for over 10 minutes. The repeating message was to go to their website for "faster service." I hung up and tried to do this, but when I reached the chat, the agent simply told me to call the 800 number. So I called again. After another 10 minutes on hold, I finally reached a representative. When I told her the problems--how the tire was warped and so hot it was melting--she said, "Sounds like the wheel bearings." Clearly this has been an issue before. I told her I was stuck in the middle of nowhere in 100 degree heat; she said she would get back to me within 30 minutes. After an hour of waiting with no call back, I called again. This time after being on hold, I was hung up on. Another attempt yielded another agent. She told me they were still trying to figure it out, but a tow truck driver should be there "soon." By the time the tow truck arrived arrived and took the tire off, the axle that connected the tire was so worn, he was amazed the tire had lasted as long as it did. The tire could have come off, caught fire, destroyed my car. Jim, an independent contractor for U-Haul, seemed to be the only one who knew anything in this whole experience. A picture of the inspection shows that the trailer hadn't been checked in over a year and who knows how many miles. Three hours in, U-Haul told me I'd have to drive over 30 miles in the reverse direction to get a tow dolly in Redding while Jim towed the trailer with my car still on it. Of course, it was left to me to go get it; they couldn't have the tow truck bring it to me as a replacement. Again, the U-Haul people in Redding were helpful, but it was now abundantly clear that the communication between corporate and the local stores was not only poor, but leaves the problems in the laps of the local owners. After five hours, I had equipment that worked well enough to get me to Washington, but lost valuable time and money; food spoiled sitting in the hot sun, wasted gas, and I had to spend money on a hotel, which I hadn't planned. And the problems didn't end there. Apparently, the Redding folks had only given me less than a day on the tow dolly, and it was expected the next morning in the Bellevue, WA store! The owner called me several times to ask how quickly I could bring it in. When I told her that I had rented the equipment for four days, she explained that the local offices were sent customers by corporate who were expecting equipment to be there waiting; it was up to the local companies to figure out how to get them what the corporate representative

Nothing against the pick-up location, but they did not receive pricing information that they should have had from corporate/sales. We had been quoted a different price for the Safe Move coverage and told that the pickup location would have that information and they did not. We ended up paying more than we had expected, which was VERY frustrating on an already stressful day.

my only complaint is the gas tank was only 3/4 full when i picked it up,and i had to return to the facility to point it out.They then corrected the paperwork.
