Truck rental included a hand truck that was not secured in the rear of the vehicle, just laying on the floor causing it to move all over the truck while driving. Additionally, the cab smelled like a wet dog which was confirmed by the dog hair on the floor.Jeff G.

I originally tried to rent a uHaul at In Scotia Lockup and even though i went there weeks in advance to ensure i'd have a truck ready on moving day the guy who runs this place couldn't get me a truck and didn't go out of his way to make things right, all he had was excuses even though i was talking to him Wednesday morning and didn't need the truck until Friday morning. He had plenty of time to get me a truck for my move. Instead i had to cut my vacation short to pick it up a day sooner from a location almost 40 minutes away instead of 2 minutes away from the original place.Karen M.

Truck smelled of heavy cigarette smoke & I then found a half smoked cigarette on the console. I have a picture. My son & I already lost an hour trying to pick up the original truck half an hour away. The dealer never opened his business that morning. So after finally getting in touch with a human, she was able to find me the truck we ultimately used for our move to NC. It was only 2.8 miles from my house. There are 2 UHaul locations less than 3 miles from my house & another about 9 miles away & yet I was sent to a closed location in Hadley. And when I questioned the woman who gave me the information prior to the pickup, she told me it was the only truck available. I made the reservation well in advance of this move. Who is in charge of your logistics? Your poor management cost me a lot more time, money, and wear & tear on me physically when I was so careful to plan my move. I'm very disappointed.Karen E.

I ordered blankets and the process did not show me they don't carry blankets. I had the project lined up with volunteers and lack of blankets caused a delay. I could have easily provided my own if I had been notified! This is not appropriate customer service. So much for your online ordering process - I was not happy!JON H.

I went to a different location the day before and it was such a shitshow I left and started looking for a competitor. However, it seems uhaul once again had a better location for pickup, so I chose a different uhaul location than the previous shitshow. Was a totally different experience. The woman whose name I forgot because I'm a dweeb was kind, quick, and helpful with pertinent questions. Give her a raise, and consider using secret shoppers to reduce customer shitshows. When we picked up the truck the cargo area was super dirty and clearly not disinfected. We spent some time cleaning and sweeping. We did take pictures for record keeping. There was also a dolly in the truck just moving arround back there that we did not use. Not in our contract. The receptionist was nice and helpful. My family and I wish the truck had been cleaned and disinfected due to covid before the pick up. It took time that we couldnt really give. Thank you though.Jose C.

When I picked up the truck I had to look around the truck and found things wrong with it that they had to mark on my paper because there was Damage Done to the truck that was not marked also there is dried up ketchup and coffee in the cup holdersROBIN S.

I used the truck share option, but cell reception at this location was spotty, so it was a bit of a pain. While I was wandering around trying to get enough signal to upload info, the owner or manager came around to see why I was wandering around on his lot. He started out a little confrontational, but was very nice after I explained the situation. It wasn't as easy/streamlined as some of the other locations I've used for truck share, but it wasn't bad by any means.Carrie W.
The vehicle was covered with snow when I got there. I had to clean it off with my snow brush. The woman at the desk did not follow normal procedure when I picked it up which I thought was odd. I got a call while I had the vehicle asking if I still needed the rental. Someone in a central location did not know I had it. I only drive 24 miles total and got an invoice for over $200 dollars. Should have been $35. On top of that I started receiving text messages after I dropped it off telling me to what to do when I drop it back off. I only had the vehicle for 2 hours and drove 24 miles total but my invoice says I had it all day and drive hundreds of miles. I have not heard back from uhaul. I am not happy.Norbert T.

The truck was apparently used to haul hay and was not thoroughly cleaned or deodorized upon return. remnants of mud, hay and a farm odor were very apparent.David G.

Be sure to check ahead of time if you ordered any furniture dollies or moving pads. This location was a small one and I found out they didn't have those things after I'd arrived to pick up my truck. Luckily they were able to call a nearby U-Haul location that did have them and sent me over to get them there.Nicholas B.

I went to return the van on a Saturday yhinkig someone would be there and thete wasn't. I called the number on the paper on the keys. The woman that helped me eas excellent. We made reservations online. The site indicated they were open on Sunday, so that's the reason we chose this location. When we arrived, the place was closed. I called the emergency #, and the woman who answered had no knowledge of our reservation, told me they're not open on Sunday, however, she was located close by and came down to the site and allowed us to rent the truck.Laura D.
The equipment and location were suitable. The experience of reserving a truck, and dealing with customer service was disappointing. One of the local locations I stopped by didn't have a vehicle available for the timeframe I needed it. I was told to call the toll free number. The reservation agent told me the vehicle I wanted was available locally, the scheduler told me I would need to drive 25 miles one way ( at .69/mile) to get what I wanted. I ended up settling for a bigger vehicle locally. My pickup/drop location closes early on Friday so I needed to get the vehicle earlier than I wanted it, forcing me into A two day rental since I was going to be past the 24hr drop off. The local location is closed Saturday and Sunday so I am forced to deal with the customer service people on the phone. They 800 line hold times are terrible and the agents read off a script and offer no flexibility. Overall I paid more for a vehicle I didn't want for a timeframe that didn't really work for me and dealt with piss poor customer service. I will rent Budget or Penske next time.Gerald F.

I ordered 24 moving blankets and an appliance dolly. None of these were at this location or ready when o picked up the truck. I was sent to another U haul location to retrieve those.troy G.
Proprietor told my spouse and I the equipment had 1/4 of a tank of gas; the rental contract reflected this. In actuality the 15" Moving Truck had less than 1/8th of a Tank, 29 Miles to Empty. Sadly we were in a rush and already loading when we realized this. No furniture dolly on site. We were required to drive to a nearby sister location to pick one up. Vehicle was dirty, though free of trash. When we returned the vehicle, notwithstanding the fact that it had less than 1/8 a tank of gas at the beginning of the trip (Not 1/4 ), we returned the equipment 1/4 full for an additional cost of $30. Overall, very poor performance, failure to inspect equipment, limited communication and ultimately very poor customer service.Ian H.

The facility looked fine. The problem was I drove up from out of town depending on renting a trailer. While checking out your system said I could not rent with a Ford Explorer because you are involved in a lawsuit(s) with them. This was a major inconvenience for us and caused problems that we should have been told about when we asked about a rental. Because of this I would not recommend U-Haul.Steve K.
