My pick up and drop off location was changed from the U-Haul store located at: 1570 V. Odom Blvd, in Akron Ohio to R & S Truck Caps & Accessories LLC. This was a last minute change made by U-Haul that required additional drive time on my end; however, after interacting with the staff at R & S, I wouldn't recommend another location more highly. They were far more friendly, responsive, and accommodating than the individuals at the V Odom Blvd. location, and the check in process was very smooth. My only recommendation is for U-Haul directly, not the R & S Truck Caps staff. If an individual is looking to complete an in town move and drop their equipment off at a location closer to their new residence, the customer should not be charged an additional fee. U-Haul made a last minute change to my reservation, notified me less than a week prior to my moving date, and ultimately were going to charge me between two and three times higher if I didn't agree to bring the trailer back to the same location that I was now required to pick it up from. The biggest frustration with this was the lack of advance notice to me, and the additional drive time it took to pick the trailer up and drop it off, when I was initially told I couldn't do a one way trip because it limited the available trailers at the location that my reservation was made at. Especially in a case such as the one described above, a customer should not be penalized or made to accommodate U-Haul, rather it should be the other way around. In instances where a pick up and drop off location is changed by the company, the customer should be allowed to drop the rented items/vehicle off at a more convenient location to them, or the U-Haul staff should be required to bring equipment from other locations back to the designated place that a customer has reserved the item at.Nate A.

Coy was an excellent sales representative. He took extra time to make sure we understood the trailer functions any made sure we were safe. He provided his personal phone number in the event we had any problems during our trip. Coy also stayed a little past his quiting time when we returned the trailer. The place was very nice and clean. The staff was very helpful and polite. The only real problem seemed to be centered around what was clearly archaic and inadequate software used by U-Haul. The employee apologized profusely about repeatedly needing my information during various computer "hiccups". It took quite a while to actually get the truck, and returning it was also fraught with issues, including not getting an email receipt. The manager took the time to print one off for me. The entire thing took much longer than expected due to computer issues. Unfortunate.gregory M.

As a member of the military, we are training to make sure any mission is properly planned and preparations are set. I reserved a vehicle for a move weeks ago. I called to make sure my reservations were set three times and was told everything would be ready. I was to pick up the truck at 800 East Tallmadge Ave Akron, Ohio 44310. I had a scheduled pick up at 0700 am Saturday, September 19, 2020. I arrived in Akron, Ohio Friday evening Septemeber 18, 2020 at approximately 1630 and went to the office to check again. I was told by the lady at the front desk all was good (there are cameras I am sure recording me coming in the store for verification). I arrived at the store Saturday morning at 0730 and was told there was no truck available for me and no reservation. I had to drive 30 minutes to another store to get another truck that wasn't even clean. It had coffee spilled all over the seat and trash on the floor. This failure on your company cost me an hour being late to the house I was moving from. This 1-hour delay cost me because I had to pay the movers as they waited at the house to start loading. For all the issues I had, I only received a $50.00 refund but it cost me over a hundred for the movers to wait. I will never recommend, especially to military personnel, to use your company. I expected, especially with my continuous checking, to have everything ready, and it was due to incompetence from your company. I should be refunded half of my cost for this inconvenience. I had requested to pick up the trailer a few miles from my home. However, the day before pick-up, I was informed that I would have to drive 45 miles one-way to pick up the trailer. In the future, I would like to be able to pick up the trailer where I originally requested it from. I understand that trailers may not be dropped off in a timely fashion & that others request trailers. However, when I drove by the lot near my home, there were a few trailers the same size as I had requested.Stacey N.

U-Haul trucks have always had a smell of body odor when you open the door. It's some thing I have kind of grown used to. In light of COVID-19, however, this should really not be happening. If there's smell, there is filth!!!Leigh C.

My location to pickup got moved 4 times which was very inconvenient. Drop location closed at 3 pm on a Saturday. Horrible experience with Uhaul. I've used UHaul several times and have never been so disappointed as I was this weekend. Returned truck super early was not refunded any portion of rental cost.Shalonda S.

On Friday 11/22/19, I went to pick up my auto transport. The gentleman helping me was very helpful and was trying to get me set up but the trailer wasn't "checked in." Mind you, I called the day before and confirmed the reservation as requested. He called a uhaul support line and somehow it got checked in. While he was working on the computer his colleague was going to hook up the trailer. So i backed the truck up to the trailer and he set it on the hitch. I got out of the truck and noticed that the fender of the trailer was dented in very badly and I had concerns of it hitting the tire when the car was loaded on the trailer. Then I noticed the one strap was frayed and melted in one area. We went back inside and told the gentleman on the computer. He said they were going to find me another auto transport in the area. He called uhaul support and they kept directing him to auto transports that were far north of where we were despite him telling them that I needed to go south. Both him and his associate started calling every dealer in the area looking for an auto transport that wasn't falling apart but didn't have any luck. They did everything in their power to get me a new trailer. I told him that I needed to get going because it was over an hour and a half that I was up there when it should have only taken twenty minutes. They documented the messed up fender and the bad strap. Tonight when I went to return the trailer after hours, I logged onto the website and it said that I didn't have any reservations and wouldn't let me check the trailer in. I called the number that was given to me on the paperwork and they had to redirect my call to the person that deals with checking in after hours. I waited on hold for 25 minutes and then decided to leave. I have wasted enough time dealing with this trailer. I stayed on the phone for over an hour before hanging up because it said wait times were higher than normal and someone would be right with me. I called customer support and someone answered and checked in the trailer without even asking about my experience or if it had any issues. As a repeat customer, I had such a bad experience with this uhaul. It amazes me that a customer would have to deal with all of this. It's December 1st now and I still haven't heard back from customer relations.ALEX U.

I was told I could pick up my 15' truck in Massillon and I rented a car in MI to drop off within blocks of my U haul pickup. Then I was informed to pick up my truck in Akron (26 miles) difference than the 3 blocks I was gonna walk. So, I had to pay $50 to get to that truck and stand in the rain waiting. Then I'm told I was upgraded( due to the inconvenience to a 20' truck) which I drove 26 miles out of my way to pick up wasting gas. THEN the 20' truck sucked gas for 4 hours so I'd like to know what was sooo good about that upgrade I did not need?Tina R.

The cab of the truck was terrible! It smelled of animal urine, full of pet hair, cigarette ashes, and filthy seats. We had to drive for 2 hours to our destination and my son's allergies were affected by the smell and pet dander. This is the only time that we've experienced an unclean UHaul truck.Leslie H.

The car dolly was easy to use. Greg was very helpful in showing me how to hook up the car we towed from Akron, Ohio to Valparaiso, In. The only thing that was a problem, although slight, was the ratchet was rather hard to use. After arriving home, I put WD-40 on the ratchets & that made for an easier task. I'd never used this item before, & found that it was easy to haul a car this way.allen I.
This place we picked up from was very friendly, helpful and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed to travel safe. I would love to be able to pick up from them again. We needed a light attachment and their prices were very fair and reasonable for us.kamberley W.

Truck had a dead battery when I arrived for pick-up. Owner was aware and said it was just changed 2 days ago, but went dead due to cold weather. All he did was jump the battery to start the truck and told me to call the Uhaul 1-800 number if I had a problem. Well I had to jump start the truck 2 more times. I didn't have time to call to report a dead battery and then wait for a new battery.RICKY S.

Improve the registration method. I registered on line and put in all information. Had to have agent put all information in again at the pickup. He had to call uhaul to have them put all the information in again. Of course this is me giving the information each time. Same information each time, but it took the agent over the phone to get it to take. Not good for business.William R.

Our truck was supposed to be at V. Odom Blvd. It was not. We had to drive across town to get it and were told that we were not supposed to get it til 10am when we said we would be there at 7am. The site where the truck actually was did not open til 8 but the woman at R&S was wonderful. Get your reservation system together UHaul. That morning sucked.Glenn K.

You can teach your personnel how to use your computer system. I was there for an hour and was told that it will cost 205.00 for a 6 hour rental. I stated that I paid between $80. and $90.00 when I rented from the Hamilton Rd location in late December (Check Your Records) but I was told that it would be $200. plus. I told them It is BS but I need a trailer. When I returned it 6 hours later I was told that the paper work I was given was incomplete. Very Poor Service.......FRED S.
