I was given the wrong key from the wrong lockbox to the wrong truck. Customer service was very unresponsive and I am still getting calls saying I have not returned my truck even though I never drove it off the lot. I had to drive over 30 miles out of my way and waste 3 hours of my evening. I am extremely frustrated and will not be using UHAUL again.

I reserved and booked on line and got a confirmation number but when I went to get the vehicle I was told I had to do the contract. It was very confusing. Then A contract email came after that and I did not realize it sort of explained the refueling levels. The cargo van used way less gas than I thought it would so I lost a lot of money by filling it too much. I wish Uhaul explained this better up front.

Horrific from the moment I arrived to pick up my vehicle. I had registered online for this van and when I got there I was having difficulty completing the reservation and the gentleman sitting inside at the desk could not help me. He did not know how to help me complete my on line pick up and I asked him if we could cancel the reservation and I can have him rebook it for me on his computer and he said no. I ran late to where I needed to be to pick something up and the people on the other end left and didn't wait for me so I wasted all my money and time for nothing. Not only would I not recommend this location I will tell all my coworkers not to use this location. I was not even compensated for my troubles.I should have been reimbursed to use for another time. Very bad business.I would suggest that whoever is at that location gets trained to help with better customer service

The van smelled like smoke and there were ashes in the cup holder. It did. It seem like it had been cleaned after the last use. Also, I had a very frustrating experience trying to get a final adjusted invoice after we returned the vehicle. I would definitely not rent from this location again.

It's really over-the-top with the hidden charges. A $19.95 rental suddenly becomes closer to $200. Also the mobile renting experience is super annoying. I didn't know I was going to have to have another person standing by to take a phone call and confirm. Ultimately didn't save any time from just renting in person. There's just a lot of fine print when renting from you guys and it feels pretty sleazy.

This interaction was one of the most horrible, traumatizing, and horrifying experience. First this place was supposed to open at 9 but the owner, Ron, did now show up until 9:45 AM. I waited 45 minutes for him to show up with delayed my moving. When he showed up, he saw us standing there and said nothing and I greeted him with good morning and he said “give me a second”. I thought he didn't hear me. But I just said okay because he sound so mean. Then he came of the office and was walking towards his car and I walked behind him to confirm he was the one we're actually waiting for but he yelled “I said give me a second” then proceeded towards his car and started backing up while I was standing behind his car. My had to ran off because he almost hit me. I am highly considering filing a lawsuit for this one. And after that he came inside and was so nasty towards me and my friend I honestly wanted to cry. Then I returned the truck. He kept trying to force me to park the truck in this tight spot and I was very uncomfortable with the idea because; one, I would have been stuck , and two, I would have probably damage one or both of the vehicles. When I told him I wasn't comfortable with doing so, he got upset and told me “you're just an ignorant person”. Finally he checked the truck and told me he's going to report the vehicle is dirty and make “make sure I'm charge extra by the company because that's what being ignorant get me”. I tried calling Uhaul yesterday and couldn't connect for some reason but I intent to report this to the fullest extent. This interaction was just horrible.

The location closed before the time stated in the website so it created a lot of time lost when I then had to call customer service and switch to a digital check in. My app wasn't working so it took even longer to get someone online to check me in from phone

Feedback relates to a ticket notification I got (and paid). I don't doubt UHaul is getting these notices from the NJ gov't - but I had paid every toll that I went through on the day of rental (to someone stationed at the toll), so I think they are billing customers because they don't expect to have them disputed (and it certainly wasn't worth it to dispute <$10) - but it doesn't feel right. In case you get any other customer feedback like this, it may be worth looking into.

Why is every single UHaul truck I ever rent dirty and rancid? I don't care if the truck has 20 miles or 20,000 miles on it, the seat is always wet, the steering wheel sticky, the cabin wreaking of a musty smell. There is never any upkeep of these trucks. Awful.

The online checkout and checkin system is extremely cumbersome and slow, especially in areas with limited cell service.

I didn't have a problem at all at this site. Everything went smoothly and the two gentlemen were very kind and informative. I rented from the U-Haul Center on 22 at the ExxonMobil Station in Union. They weren't as informative and the attended outside wasn't friendly. He was rude.

The website wouldn't allow me to check out the truck... so they charged me for them to check it out. Also, truck wouldn't start once I loaded it... why? Because they rented me a truck with a battery that was from 2006. The roadside assistance was great along with assistant changing the battery. No discount no nothing. I had to pay my mover extra because of the truck not being starting.

Simplify the online registration approval process. I completed a lengthy online application and then was held up close to 1hr due to the verification process that would not allow my contact person (my wife) to serve as my verification person (my wife). This made no sense and caused a unnecessary delay in picking up the van which led to me being late to a meeting. This process should be improved for the next customer.

The first problem was that you rented one van to two different customers at the same time, and I lost because I got there later a little than the other customer. Then I had to sit around for many minutes waiting for the situation to be resolved by human intervention. This was a delay I could ill afford. The second problem was an extremely poor design characteristic of the interior of van's cab door. There is a little pocket sized just right for a phone. A little sticker with an image of a phone with a red circle and line over it is not sufficient to prevent some people from mistakenly thinking a phone should go here, then closing the door on it and crushing the phone. An unfortunate incident of this kind cost me a phone and an entire day's delay of my trip.

I arrived earlier to my pickup location- I arrived at 8;45am for a 9am check in, and I wasn't able to begin the check in process on my phone which was frustrating. The staff was friendly at this location. I was disappointed though as I ordered a dolly for my moving and it didn't come with the rental which made my move out process harder than expected, but I was provided a refund.

They charged me extra $14 for coverage which i told them that i don't want any coverages, and when I called them back he said he is not at work he'll go and check our phone call recording and then he'll give me a call back i even saved his number so i don't mis his call but he never called back, nor did he returned my money. What's with all the added fees? I drove 7 miles -that burned a gallon of gas??? I returned the van at 3:00 PM not 5:05. I don't like not having a paper receipt when I returned it and insisted that Ronnie sign something saying I returned it at 3. Environmental fee?? You advertise 19.95 a day - what a joke - then add $20 of fees on top of it? No thanks, lesson learned.
