1-Star: Unsafe Equipment and a Horrible Experience for a Long Haul I specifically visited the Pickering location in person five days before my pick-up to request a well-maintained vehicle due to poor past experiences, and management assured me everything would be in perfect order. Instead, the 26-foot moving truck I was assigned for this cross-border road trip to Dallas was an absolute nightmare. Severe Safety and Maintenance Issues: Dangerously Loose Driver's Side Mirror: As documented in the attached video, the entire left mirror assembly was completely loose and shook violently while driving. It was positioned incredibly low, forcing me to constantly bend down just to look into it, but the severe vibration made it impossible to see anything regardless. My whole drive was hell due to this. Missing Blind Spot Equipment: The right-side mirror completely lacked a blind spot mirror. I had to pay out of my own pocket to purchase and attach a new one just to safely change lanes (visible in image_3.png). Concerning Engine Noises: The engine consistently made strange, unsettling noises throughout the trip. I was genuinely terrified the truck was going to break down entirely, which forced me to drive with constant anxiety wondering where we would end up stranded. Broken Windshield Washer System: The truck had absolutely no windshield washer fluid when I picked it up. I purchased and added fluid myself, only to discover the system itself was completely broken and would not spray. I had to repeatedly take highway exits just to manually clean massive amounts of flies and bugs off the windshield so I could see the road. U-Haul failed completely on basic safety and mechanical inspections for this reservation. Please do not give this truck to another customer before it is thoroughly fixed. For all the hassle, mechanical failure, and mental stress I endured on this trip, I expect a prompt and meaningful refund.

I booked a truck and trailer for 8h and ended up extending to 3 days (2.5h) this cost me close to $600 for 300 km drive. the owner/operator only told me after sending a bill of that amount that I could have used the flat rate of $99 with 150km included per day. I wonder why he did not tell me that everyday that I call them to let them know I have to extend the booking due to customs delays. It feels like they were just happy to charge the max when there was a little cheaper solution that could have guaranteed them a faithful client.

Got 12 of the moving blankets. They left them outside and they were all soaked. It rained over night and the blankets they gave me were all wet and I couldn’t use them.

Staff were helpful in accommodating my after-hours return and provided clear instructions, but I’m glad I had someone with me otherwise I would not have felt very comfortable navigating the back of the building and large fleet area by myself in the dark.

Just before returning the truck and filled in the gas and after putting in 15 liters the fuel guage reading went down, instead of showing more it is showing less.. Is this a setup or by accident?

Offer incentives, promotions, ie, on rental basis, if trucks are return early/late, based on the reason,,,, show sympathy, compassion, etc re discount, refund, perks, etc in order to keep me ( existing client) or the new client that I usually refer to also. Also, helpout with small misc items ( boxes, tapes, cords, dolly, blankets, etc) if clients are unsure of all the things needed at time of picking up the truck/van. Otherwise, using U-Haul has always a good experience for me, families and friends. Thanks,

I booked at my local place only to get a call 2 hours later saying they don’t have anything to rent. They confirmed at rental they had equipment. I was moved to this location, opens later, appointment then booked even later, arrived and the guy took a call so 3 customers waited in the back for more than 20 minutes. Lost 3 hours of my Sunday. Will rent from Home Depot in the future as I’m better to pay more than get messed around.

I tried calling 1555 Warden Avenue to see if they accept one way trailer return. I was on hold for 50 minutes. There should be no reason a customer is on hold for that long. There is no reasonable explanation for this long of a wait. I also called repeatedly and it always went to hold. Unacceptable.

I rented this truck 3 weeks in advance. The location was easy for me . I was able to leave my car and I felt safe. My only issue was the truck didn't have a full tank of gas..I pick up the keys 1 day earlier witch I was happy about.

Try not to scam the customers when they return the rental equipment on a different day by mistake and then stop saying you didn’t receive the rental equipment
