Moving is already a stressful time. Original pickup location was moved 14 miles out of the way. When I got to the store to pickup the truck, the man there had no idea what to do, so he called the owner, who was rousted out of her home to come down and figure it out. She eventually did, some 30 minutes after I had anticipated pickup of the truck. The truck had no dolly and no pads that were ordered. Again, moving is very stressful and this pushed me over the edge. I can’t imagine any other company does thing better than you all, which is why I firmly believe you’re all terrible and don’t care, and that’s what keeps you terrible, but I think I’m going to find a local company the next time I need a truck. It’s not worth dealing with the hassle of UHaul. Good day.
James FI had no idea where or how to fix side mirrors on the truck. I thought they would’ve been inside but no. I even tried to adjust from outside, no luck. Finally I got a guy to fix them. Your company should realize I couldn’t drive that truck without a review mirror plus side mirrors. Also, you need to take in consideration women do rent the truck too without men along. My other complaint is the price of mileage. I understand gas is high bc I buy it every week but to also fill up after spending $200 is way too much money. I was just went on a 1 1/2 hour trip and 175 miles but it cost me a total of $250. My opinion is you should offer some kind of deal or package for 100,150 or 200 and as they go up. I will never use it for a short distance again. I will also inform anyone else not to either. Maybe a move but nothing else.
Melanie TThe entire process from pick up to drop off was difficult. First the reservation was booked for 9pm instead of 9am, then the app would not find my location when I was sitting in front of the correct address, between the 2 calls to uhaul and waiting almost 2 hours to pick up a truck they sent me to the location in draper va. When I dropped the truck off 30 mins early, the cashier could not speak or understand English. Told me to park in a spot the truck would not fit, he refused to take the keys and let me return it until I spoke to his manager over the phone. Overall I will not rent from uhaul again. I had a hard time through the whole process
Jessica EWe had difficulty picking up the truck on the app. I was on the phone with customer service and got tramsferred 3 times. My hisband spoke to the employee at the station and we were told that the last customer did not check the truck back in. It took at least a hour for him to correct it in the system while I was on the phone to customer service trying to figure out how to pick the truck up. This put us behind time in driving which was frustrating.
William HIt had no gas in it when it was gotten and they wouldn’t reimburse it at all when it’s suppose to be full of gas when we receive it. No proper equipment inside either.
Eric WHave the equipment that's needed
Dewey MThey had no where to put the trailer.
Cassie OMost of my comments are geared more towards Uhaul as a company not the specific location. But overall I had a poor experience all the way around. There seems to be a ton of uncertainty around what trucks are available and when and where you can drop off the equipment. And if you do not adhere to these terms that are completely uncertain, then you are charged fees. I rented my truck and was scheduled to pick up at a location near my house. The night before pick up, UHaul reached out and said there was no trucks available at that location, so I needed to drive 40 minutes away to pick it up. When I rented the truck I told the rep I wanted to drop in in Blacksburg, VA. I was told it was fine. Not a problem at all. But then a few hours after I picked up the truck I got a call from UHaul saying all locations near Blacksburg were full. I needed to drop it off at an alternate location. one was 40 mins away and another 1.5 hours away. what!!? I was told they would extend me an additional day and extra miles for the inconvenience. YET! when I went to drop off the truck I was charged for the additional miles. The shining light in all this is the customer service rep I spoke to (Kendra Williams) who listened to my story and waived the additional fee. ty Kendra! All in all a pretty crappy customer experience. I have 2 more kids to move to college and I am guessing Penske or another company gets that business. BJ
william mNo problems with the return. Not much signage to indicate they are a U-Haul representative.
