The office was not open no one ever showed up and we had a pick up of 9:30 after an hour 15 minutes someone on phone was able to convert my contract to 24/7 which i was not familiar with. several people also showed up to pick up trucks and just left after an hour. terrible customer service. i also had to wait 4 days for a call back to speak to someone afterBrad H.

The U-Haul barely had any gas in it. Luckily my boyfriend noticed when he did or he would have run out of gas and had been stuck on the side of the road. We returned the truck at night and it was pitch black. There was no light so it was extremely difficult to complete the return, take pictures, etc. It was also difficult to return the keys to the office because it was so dark.Davin H.

UHaul offices should not be closed during business hours! There should always be a customer service rep behind the counter. Mobile check-in was great, but I had questions and needed help. Since the office was on "vacation" for a week, I had to wait on hold for 10 minutes to be connected to a customer service rep on the phone!Sara L.
We were unsure what time we would get off work when we made the reservation. We were told set it to the earliest time and pick up any time after that. We were not told to adjust the reservation time for later pick up. When we attempted online pick up, 2 hours after reservation time, it didn't work. After a 96 minute wait for customer service, we were told pick up had to occur within 30 minutes of reservation time. Customer service agent had to reinstate reservation. then all worked.Jim A.
Be open, its ridiculously stupid that no one is working in the office. You're online/remote pickup of your uhaul vehicle is excruciatingly painful. Way too many screens, way too many problems that arise. I had to call customer service and wait over 20 mins to get someone on the phone to help me as I was sitting in the uhaul parking lot. She even said to me that I hit just about every issue you can hit with this experience. Anisha out of Phx was great, very patient and very helpful. Hire more people in your customer service call center, as waiting over 20 mins to get someone on the phone is just plain stupid and bad for business!!!!!Andre M.

rented a 10" van and drove for 21 miles, and they charged me 5 gallon of gas, and emailed them ask for a explanation....after week and half, no reply....guess they try to over charge when they can....KENNY Q.

The rental pickup location was specified about 15 miles away from me and I requested a 9am pickup. Two days before my rental, I was notified of a different location which is nearer to me, but the pickup time remained 9am. When we went to the pickup location, there was no one, it was basically a storage facility doubling as a UHaul contractor (I presume). But they only open at 9:30am. Why wouldn't your software check their hours of operation and amend the pickup time also accordingly? This is either bad programming or careless attention to details. I am all for software automation, but the people developing the software should also know who their customer base is. 30+ minutes of our time wasted for lackadaisical software developers.Rajoo V.

The truck was dirty, and I did not have the moving pads for my trip then I scheduled a week and a half before so the attendant said I would not be charged but I later found out that I was charged for the moving pads.Stone C.

My experience with UHaul was HORRIBLE!! Not with the people at the location but the customer service with the representatives whom I called for assistance at the local traffic division. Turning in the vehicle was a disaster ... for some reason when I changed the rent date on the vehicle, Uhaul's computer system changed the drop off location to Roseville. Finally, after spending over 3 hours on the phone and being passed from rep to rep, I found a competernt employee who was able to correct the error, arrange for the drop off at my prefered location, San Ramon, and save me a 120 mile drop off drive back to Roseville. Many thanks to that employee and my poorest recommendation to the others!Robert S.
I waited for 1 hour for the office to open up. I signed up for 24hr pick up so the key to my vehicle should have been left outside and it wasn't. This happened to three other people. I won't be coming back to the uhaulSOPHIA K.

We were called less than 24 hours before our rental to let us know that there were no 26' trucks (which is what we needed/reserved) anywhere near our pick up. We were offered $50 and extra mileage but that doesn't help fitting everything into a much smaller truck. VERY disappointed in Uhaul (not the local stores).NATHANIEL S.

Their office is mostly closed and there is no real person to deal with. I requested the large U-Haul over the phone, and despite my explanation, she still made my reservation with a small car. I had to take it anyway just because it was too late. When I return it, they charge me $25 for 5 gallon of gas, and I only drive 27 miles and fill up 2.5 gallon of gas. When I showed them the gas receipt they refused to give me credit for the $25 charge. Total ripoff. I won't recommend this branch to anybody.Reza K.

I made a reservation for a truck in person 2 days prior to picking up vehicle. The facility was closed day of pickup so I had to redo the whole process on line to obtain vehicle. Come on what a waste of my time and people waiting to help with move. Why not just tell me the day I rented initially that I would have todo this. Poor communication!!!!!. Had an appointment to pick up the truck at 9am, the online portal would not work and others standing in line with me waiting for the shop to open, had the same issue with the online check in. The shop was supposed to open at 9:30, it did not open until about 10am. Received the truck nearly an hour after I requested to pick up, noticed that the fuel gauge was marked at 1/2 tank on the paperwork, but was actually slightly below a 1/2 tank mark. Already being over an hour late for my moving day, I didn't have time to go back in and argue. Checked in the truck later that day, the fuel gauge did not move for the 14 miles I drove the truck. The next day I was sent my invoice and noticed I was charged for 3 gallons of gas at a ridiculous rate. Very frustrated with the lack of customer service at this location.Trevor H.

Truck was in good condition and rental process was easy. Return process, however, was more problematic. Return has to be done over a mobile device at the return location. Software and website that U-haul was using was not functional, so I was unable to do the return when I brought the truck back. Return required a follow-up phone call to avoid extra charges. Better software/app is needed for the return process.David S.
