This location gave me the most hassle free and pleasant U-Haul experience I've ever had. The gentleman who manages this place was incredibly friendly and helpful from start to finish, and I really felt like I was well taken care of and valued as not just a customer, but a person. I just moved back to NC from California, and I had to move my mom and brother's belongings from storage into our new house. Thanks to Security Storage, this process has been the easiest and most pain free part of my move. I would use them again in a second! =D

I was charged an extra $12 for fuel even though I filled the tank back to the level it was when I rented it. $12 is not a lot of money, but it's the principle of the matter that the sales rep chose to overcharge me and did not call or email me back as I requested to explain the extra charge in fuel?? Never had this problem with Uhaul before and I always fill the tank back to the level I received it. I won't be renting with Uhaul again!

I received a quote online for a uhaul van and trailer hitch for 2 days plus insurance coverage and when I came to pick up the van and trailer Casey charged me a higher price and when I told her that wasn’t what I was quoted Online she said she could change the total by not charging me for insurance and adding in the dolly at no additional charge. Well the total price was less because I didn’t get the insurance, but she hiked up the price of the trailer. Be aware of bait and switches here, the uhaul website will tell you it doesn’t recognize your zip code for billing so you will have to call the 1-800 number where they route you to another Uhaul location so you can be up charged when you go pick up your equipment.

My containers were not tracked from their departure location to their destination location. One container was "lost" for over 3 weeks. My containers arrived 2 weeks late and Uhaul only refunded me for 5 days. Upon arrival, one of my containers had been broken into and I was missing numerous items, some of which were inherited and irreplaceable. I would NOT recommend U-Haul's Ubox shipping to anyone!

The information I received was inconsistent. Money was taken out of my account without my approval. Needs to give customers full price break down from the beginning instead of these pop up fees that when you are already stressed having to deal with.

We had a really bad experience. They said they booked moving help for us, but on moving day nobody showed up. When I called to see what was going on they said my boxes were set up for self-delivery and no movers were actually scheduled...yet my credit card was still charged for them. I was left to find a solution to the problem on my own, which is not something you want to deal with in the middle of a move. After speaking with 4 people nobody knew how to fix the problem and they suggested I dispute the charge via my credit card.

We moved across the country and when things looked their worst for us, it was the amazing customer service with meaningful outcomes that allowed us to avoid what would have been a disaster. I cannot speak highly enough of the corporate managers that helped us, all the way down to the folks running the local Winston-Salem store in Glendale and the friendly crew that helped us move at the 11th hour. I never received a phone call or email to setup a time to pick up my U-Boxes, and when I came to pick them up they literally turned me away because they couldn't put the boxes on a trailer for me. THE WORST MOVING EXPERIENCE I'VE EVER HAD!

We originally tried to return our trailer at the location on Marshall street in Winston-Salem. They told me they were full and I needed to take it to another location on Glendale. I asked them twice if they'd call and let them know I was coming and the guy told me yes, he'd called already. When I got to the other location on Glendale, I asked if they'd called from Marshall ST and she told me no, that they'd been sending drop off's to her all day with no phone call. While we were there, 4 trucks/trailers came in and all of them had been sent there from the Marshall street location with no phone call. The girl working the Glendale location handled it like a pro and was very patient and professional. She was great. I think it was really crappy that the folks from Glendale 1) kept sending people there with no heads up and 2) lied to my face when I asked if they'd called. I will not go back to the Marshall street location, but will definitely give my business to Glendale.

Improve communication between corporate customer service and individual locations. I asked if there were student discounts over the phone and was told that they did not do student discounts and I needed to ask the individual location. When I got to the location I was told that I needed to call the customer service number.

You advertise 29.00/day but i had to have the truck back in 6 hrs. Then instead of having a full tank of gas i was told it was 7/8, when i got in truck it was on the line above 3/4 and thats how i returned it.The attendant said he would have to charge me for gas after saying he hadnt personally looked at the gauge before. Then he wouldnt tell me how many miles i had driven. I am waiting for bill to see if i will dispute with my credit card company. So i cant really recommend this location

This process of moving is so hard and . Overwhelming. I was very impressed by the awesome costumer service this place provides. From the minute I walked through the door until I left the place... very helpful, understanding professional, and friendly.First time renting a moving truck in my life and the best experience ever. Ricardo, agent on duty, pointed me at the 6x12 cargo trailer and I had to connect-hitch it to my truck. Every time I have rented from U Haul (except from here/Ricardo) the agent makes the hook-up and ensures all is done properly, even the brake, running and turn-signal lights work...Not this time by Ricardo at your 2100 Glendale Street location. The clerk was uninterested in anything to do with the service. He automatically gave me a charge for a high amount of mileage without even asking what my mileage will be. And he lied about the insurance. After the truck was returned, I found that I had been charged twice for the incorrect mileage, so there is something else I will have to battle. Not a pleasant or smooth experience.
