The only problem was that the same trailer was more money at different locations as I looked for one. I would like to see consistent pricing and not feel like I am being gouged due to supply and demand. I finally found the trailer for a reasonable price at Shoulders Auto. The other trailer I inquired about was like $450. That trailer was only an hour away in a different town. This really made me consider not renting from U Haul. I even called Penske but they only rent the trailer if you rent their truck - another road block to doing a simple business transaction. Otherwise this was a great experienceJW A.

I rented a open trailer to move a ATV and the equipment worked like it should. The dealer in Carthage TN on the other hand is scamming ppl out of money..... they tried to charge $20 to hook up the trailer on my truck and $20 to take it off. My wife just had a back procedure 8 days before and was and still is on a 28lb weight restriction. Unhooking the trailer has damaged her back more and undone what she had fixed 8 days ago. Nowhere in my U-haul contract didbit say anything about charging to hook ot unhook my own trailer. Or having to do it ourselves. The location dealer said it was uhaul policy for customers to hook up the equipment do to liability issue. As I was on the phone with him wile my wife was outside trying to figure out what she should do. He informed me that if I did not like the fact that it was a $20 charge to unhook the trailer I could come down and do it myself . Me being 3hr away that was not a option. I clearly informed him that I would contact U-haul about this matter he said he will not charge me this time and for me to never show my face there ever again. Location dealer for Uhaul still did not help my wife with the trailer and now the damage to her back witch was just operated on had more extensive damage do to removing the trailer.......Eric D.

If they're going to charge $20 to have someone come outside to â€œshow the customerâ€ how to properly load a trailer, but not actually doing what they promise for the fee of $20. The straps on the tow dolly weren't put into the crank part, which caused the strap to come undone more than 10 times if not more when driving down the interstate, which wasn't how we planned our trip to go but every time it happened we stopped to fix it thinking the problem was finally solved, only to find out it wasn't. The whole point of the tow dolly was so we didn't have to drive our car, or spend more gas money than we had to.... but unfortunately in Atlanta we ended up having to drive the car from there anyway. So on top of having a tow dolly without a vehicle to tow, spent money for the dolly and insurance as well, it just put more unnecessary miles on my vehicle, and more money that could have been spent on the truck instead. Before leaving the pick up location we were giving a packet of instructions on how to load the trailer, and strap it properly. Before leaving the office with the key to the truck, I wasn't given the correct receipt with the mileage before travel, or the gas ruler. We only received a flip out receipt that we signed. No one showed us anything about the truck, inside, they didn't do any type of inspection on it while I was present, etc. Although they were very nice, one of the ladies that helped us was in training, and didn't explain much to us when asked about certain things. Boxes, hand dollys, wool blankets, and tape were all way too over priced. If you're going to run a uhaul company out of a used car/rental car lot.... at least get the proper training needed for the job, and have the knowledge needed as well.Kaitlyn L.

On two occasions I have dropped off a trailer. The first I had an injured back and could no disconnect the trailer by myself. The staff was reluctant to assist me. The second time I disconnected the trailer in the area of all other trailers, went to have my drop off recorded and the OWNER refused to process my drop off because I did not back in the trailer in a specific spot. He continued to refuse checking me in and using the foulest language ordered me off his property. The closest U-Haul drop-off next closest facility is 50 miles away. The problem I had with drop off is with UHaul, not Shoulders Auto Inc. This is the 2nd truck rental where your check-in online / via the app failed. I spent 20 minutes on the phone with UHaul (800-342-8465 @7:39pm SUnday, Feb 8) trying to find a way to make the Return Trailer button appear, I have an unlimited data plan on my phone, and the person I was talking to - who was polite - kept asserting I did not have a data plan so you have a training issue there. I think I've gotten it to work once on a computer but you're 0 for 2 on iPhones. What irks me is I do NOT want to be charged the $20 fee for not using the app/web after hours (and was not this time) when it is IMPOSSIBLE to get that experience to work. BTW as soon as I log in the app is always putting up a red box telling me my contracts cannot be accessed, even when I have perfectly good reception (and obviously logged on).Jeffrey S.

I was told the truck was cheaper to rent Round trip and not one way in which I did not need to drive all the way back but over the phone the rep insisted it was cheaper which not for sure how due to it's .99$ per also in which I was told was included in the $146 upfront cost. I ask the rep upfront is this all is the miles included she said I have no idea. So I'm not real happy with uhaul nor the rental company I probably could of saved over 60$ if I would of not brought the truck back they're probably just saying that so they would have another big truck to rent out. Also AC only works on high and tail light is intermitten so I'm not pleased with uhaul nor the rental company to say the least.Johnathon Cody G.
