Sean BI called the pickup location and spoke with the manager Veronica to confirm the reservation, she said she did not see a truck at Ben white for this reservation and would put in a transfer request to make sure a truck would be available. I called again one day before to confirm everything was ready, the rep said the computer system was down and she could not help me, hour later I tried calling again more than once and no one would pick up the call. Later I called phoenix and told Victoria I was concerned and needed a solid confirmation, she seemed to sway back and forth and made suggestions that I might want to pick up at another location and that the wait time might be long at that location but did confirm that the reservation was for Ben White and that they did have a truck ready. My confidence was not super high so I called phoenix a couple of hours later and Sylvia seemed to hesitate as well, so I asked her what was going on! Asked if they really needed me to pick up at another location I would try to make arrangements but that Ben White was way more convenient for me. Sylvia said she could confirm the appointment at Ben White and that the truck was available. The next day I arrived more than an hour early in case of some blunder. When I checked in I was immediately told my appointment was another location approximately ten miles away, I told her I had confirmed, she insisted and showed me her screen, I told her I had spoken to Veronica on Tuesday and confirmed. She said I had to go to the other location. I asked to speak to Veronica and reminded her of our previous conversation four days ago and told her Phoenix had confirmed twice. With no acknowledgment or connection to me, as if I was not there she simply turn to the clerk and told to just transfer the reservation and walked away. The clerk was very impatient with me, took my picture and pictures of my driver's license front and back with her personal phone, which I found extremely disconcerting. When I went out to inspect the truck I asked for an inspection sheet to document any damage the man laughed at me and said they had not done that in 15 years. I was uneasy the entire trip not knowing if they would try to charge me for any existing damage. No instructions where given to verify the condition of the truck. The inside was sticky with food, and snacks remains under the seat, not a big deal compared to all the previous fiasco.

As an older person, trying to do everything online on my phone doesn't work so well. No problem here! Great location for me, easy access, clean, well stocked supplies in the facilities. My best 5-star rating!

If someone reserves it, you should keep it for them. - The check-in process took 30 minutes of our reservation. You should tell people to arrive 30 minutes early to get their full time with the truck.

Erica AI requested a motorcycle trailer, the only location that had them was 45 minutes from where I live. I attempted multiple times to find an alternative U-Haul, or ask if they could let me drop it off closer to home, so that I would not miss Easter with my family. The service team was ultimately unhelpful. They told me that I would have to rent a different trailer which would cost more, but before I could answer, just continued on with renting the motorcycle trailer, as if they had decided for me that I did not want the upgrade. As it turns out, the only motorcycle trailer that they had was broken, and they had to upgrade my rental to a one-way trailer. They told me that my price would stay the same, however, this was not reflected in my bill as I had an increase for the upgraded trailer. It was a one-way trailer, I thought it might be possible to return it to a closer location, and was even willing to pay The fee to do so. Somehow, my contract still reflected in the System that I had a motorcycle, and the service number agent refused to even consider allowing me to return my one-way trailer, as even though it Was not a motorcycle trailer, They were treating it as such in the machine. I ended up missing Easter with my family, thanks to the delays with broken trailers and the Refusal of staff to be aware of the situation and allow me to drop the trailer off closer. The service staff in the Equipment yard were very helpful, and did try to help despite the failures of the office staff.

Milkon WThere was one person working the front desk. I arrived on time for my reservation & still ended up waiting 45 minutes to get my equipment. The dolly’s I reserved and paid for were not available, making my live even harder. The truck was only gassed up to half a tank. To make it all worse, my reservation was for 4:00pm for 4 hours, and I didn’t get my equipment until after 4:45pm… and the associate still had the nerve to say, “you’ll need to return everything by 8 pm”, as if 45 minutes if my reservation wasn’t wasted waiting at their location. The associate was friendly, along witg every other U-Haul worker I encountered, though they had none of my items ready. This location needs some serious customer service/experience training and a review of their business practices because those of us coming in spending hundreds of dollars should not be subject to subpar quality service.

Dyrall LMy first time renting out u-haul. I paid for 1 day rate to a van and 50 miles. I’ve noticed first at the beginning that they game me a van with half tank fuel even though they said it’s full. I came back and let the sales person know, she ensured she will make a changes in the system. When I dropped off the van - they called me right after and asked how many miles I drove. I’ve noticed that the miles that was stated in the paper was different when I actually took a van. 2 days later I was charged extra $350 and when I looked at the receipt it says that I drove almost 200 miles. As a fact I drove only 17 miles. Now I have to deal with filing a complaint and get my money back. Attempted to call a store multiple times- I’ve been placed on hold 4 times and on the hold for almost 2 hours… wasn’t able to speak to anyone from the store, but was able to talk to someone from the corporate office. My first time renting out U-Haul was so stressful and have to deal with getting money back

Steven VThere was just a slight miscommunication re: the mileage that caused some frustration when dropping off. The records indicated that the cargo van had about 800 fewer miles on it when I picked it up than it actually did and I was charged $520 at drop off for driving the vehicle 15 miles. Thankfully the staff was very effective in rectifying the situation and getting me back a refund, even at a discounted price! I thought their professionalism was very reassuring.

Not only was this ridiculous to be directed and then redirected back but the desk guy was actually kind of rude and full of attitude about it. I’m not paying nearly a thousand dollars to be treated like an idiot. You figure your job out and don’t put that crap on the customer.

I had to pay the movers twice so I could get my mattress I could go on and on I will never ever ever use this company again, and I am going to be posting many social media platforms about my experience in detail. No one has ever called me back. I have made several complaints.

Ann MI was rented a truck with a tire that was in really bad shape. Called U-Haul they asked to take it back to U-Haul. While dangerously driving back the representative calls me and said just stay where you’re at they were send road side assistance. That threw off our move. Asked to extend my time to return the truck Veronica the manager said she would extend but didn’t. At 1:30 pm I called to make sure my time was extended was on hold 30 min. Finally talked to a representative and she said I was going to have an additional charge for returning the truck late, then said let me see what I can do, puts me on hold. Who on hold we unload the truck, drive back to U-Haul to return the truck around 3:00 pm and this whole time still on hold. I was on hold for over 1 1/2. The move is stressful enough then to deal with this kind of service. HORRIBLE!!!

Katie GI am a frequent renter of auto transports (approx1x/mo) at this location. Many times I’ve had the pleasure of working with Russell. I know when he is working the back lot, things will go smoothly and effortless. It doesn’t matter how busy the lot is, he has it all handled. I’m in and out in no time at all. He is knowledgeable, courteous and professional. I’m rating 5 stars for Russell but the front desk only deserves a 3-4 star rating b/c of Yvonne(she deserves a 1 at best). While in line, I watched her get loud and disrespectful w/ 2 other customers. I heard both sides of the conversation and she was over the top and wrong. I wish you had more Russells’s working for you…great job!

The girl on the phone at the slaughter location said I couldn't rent the trailer because of the computer. At this location the girl on the phone said the same thing. I arrived with my truck ready to unload, only to be told they didn't have the 10×20x8 outside drive up access unit available. Very disappointed! What is the point of a reservation if it doesn't hold?

Also, I didn't understand that I didn't have to put in my security code every time I went through the door (which is nice) and when I went back in to cut the tag, the alarms went off when I opened the unit. It was pretty scary lol It was early in the morning so Maria one of the cleaners was kind enough to come down from the floor above and help me. She walked me all the way down to the front door showed me how to put my code in and explained that I didn't need to enter it in again until I left. Which I just realized I think I forgot. 🤦 Maybe the access could time out after 3 hours?

The alarm in the building would be triggered frequently and then turned off, what is the point of that other than to annoy customers, no one ever showed up to see why the alarm was triggered. I cleaned out and cancelled my storage unit the day my monthly rent was due and was charged for another month of rent; that is pretty greedy of Uhaul. I have had some very poor dealings with U-Haul in the past, but this was just greedy and poor customer service.

They Always have equipment at the inside of the doorway to help haul your boxes and other stuff in or out. Temps are kept within stated range—but what works for your belongings may be too warm or too cold, depending, for you! Bring water; dress appropriately. Also, I rented a UHaul van—it was clean, & worked well for a reasonable price. If you’re short,—I’m 5’1”—bring an extra cushion to sit on! The store has everything you might need, from locks to boxes, equipment, padding, tape, mattress cover, & so forth. Location convenient, parking can be an issue; but worked for me.

I was first assigned one storage unit but when the employee walked me over to it, we were unable to get into the building for about 10-15 minutes due to issues with the access card and keypad. Once we finally got in, the assigned storage unit appeared to already be in use. So we had to go back to the desk to get re-assigned a new unit from scratch and I had to provide all my info once again. Then I finally got a proper unit after about about 45 minutes of waiting and shuffling around.

After moving all day and driving 3 hours to have the doors lock and have to leave my stuff unattended and could not lock my unit when I literally had my last dolley and tried to open the door at 10:02pm. I had to keep the truck which was an extra charge, go over miles which was an extra charge, and literally none of that was explained when getting it. I would have found a 24 hour facility and rather paid them. So much for the free storage if I paid 100 today. The Assistant Manger was excellent and helped me move something. He didn’t have to and that is customer service. GM take the signs down to call you for after hour help. That is a lie. It is 11:30am the next day and you still have not call to follow up. Make the assistant the GM.

The supervisor tried my password AND his, but both were declined. He basically told me sorry but nothings working. I can't open the building where your unit is. I told him I had to be out of my apt by midnight so he needs to get me a unit in a building that will open. He did & Said this unit costs $30more. For my trouble, I didn't think I should be charged more. He told me I wouldn't this month, but they'd probably charge me next month. He also told me that I'd be able to get back in this building without a key bc sliding door will open. So, when I returned an hour or 2 later(at 8pm) I was unable to get inside bc they were closed and doors didn't just open up. No key, no code, 4 hours until I'm supposed to be out of my apartment & ive got 2 more loads to get insude this storage and a van to return! Yet I'm completely locked out with absolutely no one around to help me out, not even the customer service line could help. I was charged that extra $30, without giving my permission uhaul just decided to charge My card on file. The worst part- I had to keep van extra and I wasn't able to be out of my apartment in time therefore I git charged extra for the van and for my apartment. Completely unexceptible! Very bad experience!!

The first guy said “oh I must have checked the wrong box”. On another day I wasn’t able to access my box at all because a worker parked a truck in front of it and took the keys and wouldn’t be back to work until later.

I was told by the Owner at the Tacoma, WA UHaul that since I was given an UNSAFE trailer to rent when I went & picked it up 3 hours away in Yakima, WA & then had to drive to Graham, WA to pick up another trailer (& unload & reload what I had in the unsafe trailer by myself, that I would be given a $50 credit. I had already paid $184.11. I was rented a trailer with no brakes. 😮 Well, I never got this $50 credit & when I got to Austin, TX to drop off the trailer, I had to pay an additional $176.00. I am not happy about this at all. I am a travel RN & I’m thinking twice about using UHaul again for my additional assignments.

The location was okay, but the front desk staff are rude, aloof to customers and don't seem to know how to do their jobs right. Either re train them, or get new staff, please.

So in short the hitch wrecked my truck, my storage space wasn't what I was given and had to pay for two separate locks because of it, then the drop off and storage was in the same place but when we got here Ohio didn't correct the mistake and so now I have to pay for something that wasn't my fault and the clerks inside the store were very rude and acted as if we robbed them of fees when I paid what was told to me and nobody told me about another Dee once I arrived I doesn't say in my bill that I have a balance due. I'm very upset and when I can move into my new place no I will not recommend this service to anyone I'm so disappointed 😞😞

Another vehicle pulled up and parked close to the entrance to begin unloading to which the employee told them “you can’t park here”. We both asked again where we should park and the employee began to get frustrated only stating “I don’t know but not here”. We were not blocking the flow of traffic for other customers or other employees to move trailers, cars , trucks etc. Overall I was rather shocked by the employee’s statements and lack of help to know where we should park to unload.

Then, car broke down, traded it in fast. So busy, frustrated & exhausted. I had to store all my belongings. No full-time job after returning from Dad's funeral. Someone went in my unit, stole an item that I know it wasn't me. Only I have the key and no one else. Rented for 2 years because I had no home of my own. Whoever is going around the units sneaking around when manager is gone stealing from the ones stored for so long should know I found out because I'm very particular of how I preserve my belongings. The item was permanently tied in knots with a large item because I wanted it there always!!! My item was cut and yanked off by someone. I have to forgive the soul who did this, so God will forgive me, too. I don't know if manager will believe me. I've been through enough already.

We paid for extra hours access but several times weren't able to get in. Though our storage units were never bothered, the building security was not secure. I would NOT recommend single women use or access this facility. The automatic front doors are open to the general public all day during business hours despite the fact that it is described as a "secure" facility. I inquired about why a code was not necessary and why it wasn't locked during the day, and I was told by management that it was "public." This is simply not true: I paid significant amounts of rent monthly to use it ($350 per month for two 10x10 units for years) and random passersby do not pay a dime; therefore, they should not have the same access as I do, and this certainly lowers the level of security. On several occasions, I had uncomfortable moments at this facility when transient men entered the building; they made lewd comments and drove back and forth on their bikes in front of the building, and as I was going in and out and would enter the front doors with their bikes to use the bathroom. The bathroom (on the first floor) was treated as public, rather than reserved for renters. Additionally, during COVID, the mask mandate was not enforced here.

He refunded my late fee, however, he was very unkind and and condescending. He expressed no empathy whatsoever and stated as long as I had the unit he would never refund another late fee. In October, the keycard machine wasn’t working one night and a line of people had gathered and were trying to swipe in. I called the after hours number and it was the same unpleasant manager. Still discourteous. Still unhelpful. I hope that staff realize that moving into a storage unit can be a very low point in ones life, particularly after a job loss related to Novel Coronavirus. The human element is fundamentally important in relating to people.

I will make sure to let everybody know what a bad service you provide, and advise them to give their business to a place that values customers and not to a place where the "after hours" service is not provided because the general manager is too tired to even pick up the phone, that is why even the customer service agent kept calling him and the general manager never picked up the phone, shame, shame, shame.

I will NEVER give my money to this UHaul location again knowing they are anti LGBTQ+ and just flat out rude. Been using UHaul for years and this is the only location I have ever had issues with.
