I walked in and asked the desk agent the same question but he told me to go back outside and see the return agent. Not only was this ridiculous to be directed and then redirected back but the desk guy was actually kind of rude and full of attitude about it. I’m not paying nearly a thousand dollars to be treated like an idiot. You figure your job out and don’t put that crap on the customer.

alfredo peralezTotal disaster I must’ve made over 40 phone calls with no help. They forgot my one pod left it there in the lot for a week then sent it to the wrong city. I had to pay the movers twice so I could get my mattress I could go on and on I will never ever ever use this company again, and I am going to be posting many social media platforms about my experience in detail. No one has ever called me back. I have made several complaints.

Ann Michele JanowskiI was rented a truck with a tire that was in really bad shape. Called U-Haul they asked to take it back to U-Haul. While dangerously driving back the representative calls me and said just stay where you’re at they were send road side assistance. That threw off our move. Asked to extend my time to return the truck Veronica the manager said she would extend but didn’t. At 1:30 pm I called to make sure my time was extended was on hold 30 min. Finally talked to a representative and she said I was going to have an additional charge for returning the truck late, then said let me see what I can do, puts me on hold. Who on hold we unload the truck, drive back to U-Haul to return the truck around 3:00 pm and this whole time still on hold. I was on hold for over 1 1/2. The move is stressful enough then to deal with this kind of service. HORRIBLE!!!

Katie GoodeI am a frequent renter of auto transports (approx1x/mo) at this location. Many times I’ve had the pleasure of working with Russell. I know when he is working the back lot, things will go smoothly and effortless. It doesn’t matter how busy the lot is, he has it all handled. I’m in and out in no time at all. He is knowledgeable, courteous and professional. I’m rating 5 stars for Russell but the front desk only deserves a 3-4 star rating b/c of Yvonne(she deserves a 1 at best). While in line, I watched her get loud and disrespectful w/ 2 other customers. I heard both sides of the conversation and she was over the top and wrong. I wish you had more Russells’s working for you…great job!

The girl on the phone at the slaughter location said I couldn't rent the trailer because of the computer. At this location the girl on the phone said the same thing. But she was nice and said she'd work with me to make it happen. So thank y'all.

We rent a storage unit at the facility as well and pay almost $200 mo to U-Haul. We will be looking for another storage facility asap. Customer service for roadside assistance was impossible to get ahold of. Poor poor poor

However when I checked my receipt it charged me for $220+ worth of moving materials, none of which I opted into. I was using android. Next time I'll just call in. Shout out to the rep who helped me out.

Judy PrimmThe lady at the front tried to overcharge me which was not cool. I was initially only looking to spend the amount provided via the estimate I did online. But when I arrived there was a 75 mile hold placed on my card, that would have been nice to know about while setting up the reservation and thinking I was only going to pay so much. In that sense it felt like I was brought in with the promise of one cost but duped into another. Super shady practice. So the cost even with the 75 mile hold should have been around $140 on my card, she tried to charge me $215, I know that because I spoke to my bank and they stated the declination was in that amount. Once again super shady U-Haul as moving is costly and we come to you for an affordable option. Please be more transparent about the cost you are trying to charge on your site when it comes to reservations.

RYAN TARBYThe main improvement is with the customer service. Nobody seems to want to work there and assist the customer. I called because I need a trailer from 6 am - 2 pm on Saturday. Since the store didn't open until 7 I was asking how to pick it up the night before. The person who answered cut me off and said just go online and choose to pick it up the night before. I did that with an 8 hour use. This put my return at 2 am. When I came to pick it up the trailer was going to need to be returned at 2 am. I'd have to pay $100 extra to keep it that day. The first person could have explained just a little more about being sure to reserve it through the time I needed it. The counter person did call another location that had a trailer. So I ventured through horrible traffic to the next location. The people working the desk there did assist me but seemed like they really didn't want to be there. It is now dark outside, so harder to see everything in this setup I'm not used to in order to drive to the trailer. Once the person was ready to get my trailer he pointed to it down a long stretch and said, "There it is.". Not familiar with the process I asked if he wanted me to back my truck down there. His response was "It's not going to grow legs." I backed my truck to the trailer and was watching how he was hooking it up. He was uninterested in any of my questions as I was wanting to confirm any aspects of the setup. Every employee was short with me and more interested in me getting out of there way instead of interested in helping me through a process I might do once or twice a year.

Had a wonderful experience at the first location, but at this location the front desk employee let me forget my rope that i paid for, which i know isnt their fault, but it would be great customer service to let me know. Or put it in a bag and set it on the counter. Offer me my receipt. Just anything to grab my attention and let me know ive just completed my order. Instead, they gave me incorrect instructions for the after hours box, very brief instructions on your stupid app you require us to use to turn in our truck and ran through the contract as quick as possible like I already know everything. I know this review will probably mean nothing, but god bless this uhaul location. It was almost more tiring than my move. and also, your app sucks. I should charge you $20.44 an hour for causing us to do a FULL INSPECTION of your TRUCKS... OURSELVES. You have EMPLOYEES. FOR. A. REASON. I just moved, 15 hours OF work over 2 days. YOU THINK I REALLY WANT TO TAKE PICTURES OF YOUR STUPID TRUCK IN THE COLD WEATHER when i only used your truck for a couple hours to MOVE PLANTS ACROSS TOWN. WOW. CRAZY. ONCE AGAIN. EMPLOYEES. DO. CHARLES BROOKSThe trailer I rented needs to be fixed up. Y'all have taken so many quick-claim settlements on this trailer. QC stickers on every inch of the trailer. Just replace the plastics already. You look like a greedy corporation. Also, there where 5 trailers available and y'all gave me the worst looking one. Why? And finally, There was not room to maneuver in the parking lot. Next time you bring the trailer to my truck, not my truck to the trailer. Once I was hooked up, I could not get out of the parking lot. Spent 10 minutes trying to do a 3 point turn to back out with a trailer that kept jack-knifing. The online checking process was awesome. I would have liked to have had the option to do an on-line return process. But they man receiving my return just said, "We will send you an email, don't worry about it" But I was worried about it. Although I did not further damage this beat up trailer, I was worried that the inspector would try to claim more damage to milk money out of this already poorly maintained trailer.
Kevin KaraffaThe truck had about 110,000 miles on it. It ran well, and was able to keep up to highway speeds very well (as it consumed lots of gasoline). It was clean, but there was no inspection of the vehicle prior to our driving off the lot. When we got to the apartment to load it we discovered two gashes in the roof that would have been problematic had we travelled in rain - because we were carrying 25 book boxes full of books among other things. Luckily we had good weather for travel day and the roof defects were not an issue, but we taped the gashes just in case. The front alignment was off (either camber or toe out was excessive) and the inside of both front tires was much more worn than the outside. Noticed this at the first 300 mile fuel stop. Probably a pre-existing condition, I think. Anyway, I have photos of the roof gashes from the day we rented it and we had no contact with anything that would have caused the damage while using the truck. Wind noise was quite loud above 60 mph. Bummer. Overall - satisfied. Next time: Truck with less than 50K miles, will have cruise control, will be newer than 4 years old, with a more comfortable cab. Thanks very much, Dan Appel

More importantly, your "Truck Share" program is really sketchy. I thought it was a scam the first several times you contacted me via text. How do you know what is in the trailers you're asking people to transport? You don't. It could be drugs, animals or people for all you know. Also - how do you know the people you get to transport them won't just cut the lock and steal from them? This seems like some shady gig economy B.S.

I made a reservation for a storage unit with drive up access. Furthermore, I called the day before arriving to make sure everything was good to go. I was told everything was fine. I arrived with my truck ready to unload, only to be told they didn't have the 10×20x8 outside drive up access unit available. Very disappointed! What is the point of a reservation if it doesn't hold?

I wasn't strong enough to break it so I had to go out and get something from the stuff I was storing. Also, I didn't understand that I didn't have to put in my security code every time I went through the door (which is nice) and when I went back in to cut the tag, the alarms went off when I opened the unit. It was pretty scary lol It was early in the morning so Maria one of the cleaners was kind enough to come down from the floor above and help me. She walked me all the way down to the front door showed me how to put my code in and explained that I didn't need to enter it in again until I left. Which I just realized I think I forgot. 🤦 Maybe the access could time out after 3 hours?

While running two computers/multiple customers at once, she was also answering people on the radio and helping run through those that had “app immediate access”. It’s a good idea and I understand what her intentions were but it was very inefficient.

The alarm in the building would be triggered frequently and then turned off, what is the point of that other than to annoy customers, no one ever showed up to see why the alarm was triggered. I cleaned out and cancelled my storage unit the day my monthly rent was due and was charged for another month of rent; that is pretty greedy of Uhaul. I have had some very poor dealings with U-Haul in the past, but this was just greedy and poor customer service.

They Always have equipment at the inside of the doorway to help haul your boxes and other stuff in or out. Temps are kept within stated range—but what works for your belongings may be too warm or too cold, depending, for you! Bring water; dress appropriately. Also, I rented a UHaul van—it was clean, & worked well for a reasonable price. If you’re short,—I’m 5’1”—bring an extra cushion to sit on! The store has everything you might need, from locks to boxes, equipment, padding, tape, mattress cover, & so forth. Location convenient, parking can be an issue; but worked for me.

I was first assigned one storage unit but when the employee walked me over to it, we were unable to get into the building for about 10-15 minutes due to issues with the access card and keypad. Once we finally got in, the assigned storage unit appeared to already be in use. So we had to go back to the desk to get re-assigned a new unit from scratch and I had to provide all my info once again. Then I finally got a proper unit after about about 45 minutes of waiting and shuffling around.

After moving all day and driving 3 hours to have the doors lock and have to leave my stuff unattended and could not lock my unit when I literally had my last dolley and tried to open the door at 10:02pm. I had to keep the truck which was an extra charge, go over miles which was an extra charge, and literally none of that was explained when getting it. I would have found a 24 hour facility and rather paid them. So much for the free storage if I paid 100 today. The Assistant Manger was excellent and helped me move something. He didn’t have to and that is customer service. GM take the signs down to call you for after hour help. That is a lie. It is 11:30am the next day and you still have not call to follow up. Make the assistant the GM.

The supervisor tried my password AND his, but both were declined. He basically told me sorry but nothings working. I can't open the building where your unit is. I told him I had to be out of my apt by midnight so he needs to get me a unit in a building that will open. He did & Said this unit costs $30more. For my trouble, I didn't think I should be charged more. He told me I wouldn't this month, but they'd probably charge me next month. He also told me that I'd be able to get back in this building without a key bc sliding door will open. So, when I returned an hour or 2 later(at 8pm) I was unable to get inside bc they were closed and doors didn't just open up. No key, no code, 4 hours until I'm supposed to be out of my apartment & ive got 2 more loads to get insude this storage and a van to return! Yet I'm completely locked out with absolutely no one around to help me out, not even the customer service line could help. I was charged that extra $30, without giving my permission uhaul just decided to charge My card on file. The worst part- I had to keep van extra and I wasn't able to be out of my apartment in time therefore I git charged extra for the van and for my apartment. Completely unexceptible! Very bad experience!!

I was told by the Owner at the Tacoma, WA UHaul that since I was given an UNSAFE trailer to rent when I went & picked it up 3 hours away in Yakima, WA & then had to drive to Graham, WA to pick up another trailer (& unload & reload what I had in the unsafe trailer by myself, that I would be given a $50 credit. I had already paid $184.11. I was rented a trailer with no brakes. 😮 Well, I never got this $50 credit & when I got to Austin, TX to drop off the trailer, I had to pay an additional $176.00. I am not happy about this at all. I am a travel RN & I’m thinking twice about using UHaul again for my additional assignments.

The one of the most ridiculous reasoning I’ve heard of! I want a refund for the month storage unit I was charged for!!!

The location was okay, but the front desk staff are rude, aloof to customers and don't seem to know how to do their jobs right. Either re train them, or get new staff, please.

So in short the hitch wrecked my truck, my storage space wasn't what I was given and had to pay for two separate locks because of it, then the drop off and storage was in the same place but when we got here Ohio didn't correct the mistake and so now I have to pay for something that wasn't my fault and the clerks inside the store were very rude and acted as if we robbed them of fees when I paid what was told to me and nobody told me about another Dee once I arrived I doesn't say in my bill that I have a balance due. I'm very upset and when I can move into my new place no I will not recommend this service to anyone I'm so disappointed 😞😞

I explained we were taking items into our storage unit which was why I was parked up front by the door leading inside the building. He stated where I was parked was “their” parking and customers can’t park there. When I asked where we should move he stated he didn’t know but I can’t stay where I’m at. Another vehicle pulled up and parked close to the entrance to begin unloading to which the employee told them “you can’t park here”. We both asked again where we should park and the employee began to get frustrated only stating “I don’t know but not here”. We were not blocking the flow of traffic for other customers or other employees to move trailers, cars , trucks etc. Overall I was rather shocked by the employee’s statements and lack of help to know where we should park to unload.

Then, car broke down, traded it in fast. So busy, frustrated & exhausted. I had to store all my belongings. No full-time job after returning from Dad's funeral. Someone went in my unit, stole an item that I know it wasn't me. Only I have the key and no one else. Rented for 2 years because I had no home of my own. Whoever is going around the units sneaking around when manager is gone stealing from the ones stored for so long should know I found out because I'm very particular of how I preserve my belongings. The item was permanently tied in knots with a large item because I wanted it there always!!! My item was cut and yanked off by someone. I have to forgive the soul who did this, so God will forgive me, too. I don't know if manager will believe me. I've been through enough already.

We paid for extra hours access but several times weren't able to get in. Though our storage units were never bothered, the building security was not secure. I would NOT recommend single women use or access this facility. The automatic front doors are open to the general public all day during business hours despite the fact that it is described as a "secure" facility. I inquired about why a code was not necessary and why it wasn't locked during the day, and I was told by management that it was "public." This is simply not true: I paid significant amounts of rent monthly to use it ($350 per month for two 10x10 units for years) and random passersby do not pay a dime; therefore, they should not have the same access as I do, and this certainly lowers the level of security. On several occasions, I had uncomfortable moments at this facility when transient men entered the building; they made lewd comments and drove back and forth on their bikes in front of the building, and as I was going in and out and would enter the front doors with their bikes to use the bathroom. The bathroom (on the first floor) was treated as public, rather than reserved for renters. Additionally, during COVID, the mask mandate was not enforced here.

The m staff member over the intercom was disrespectful and condescending. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. People who need a storage facility are generally in some form of transition. Ugliness and a lack of communication are not helpful at a time like that.

He refunded my late fee, however, he was very unkind and and condescending. He expressed no empathy whatsoever and stated as long as I had the unit he would never refund another late fee. In October, the keycard machine wasn’t working one night and a line of people had gathered and were trying to swipe in. I called the after hours number and it was the same unpleasant manager. Still discourteous. Still unhelpful. I hope that staff realize that moving into a storage unit can be a very low point in ones life, particularly after a job loss related to Novel Coronavirus. The human element is fundamentally important in relating to people.

I then went to ask the other person working outside to help and he yelled at me telling me I'm a big boy and can drive the vehicle by myself, which I couldn't. I went to the manager to tell him and he brushed it off like it was no big deal, and told me that he would do nothing about it. I will NEVER give my money to this UHaul location again knowing they are anti LGBTQ+ and just flat out rude. Been using UHaul for years and this is the only location I have ever had issues with. Disgustingly awful experience and I wish I could do ZERO stars.
