Cheryl W"Dear U-Haul team,I am writing to express my extreme disappointment with the recent rental experience at your location. Not only was the truck provided to me in a very dirty condition, but the service at the counter was slow and inefficient despite the busy environment.To add to this, I took the initiative to clean the truck thoroughly before returning it, which took almost an hour of my time, even though I didn't have to. This was done in good faith, but unfortunately, the situation only worsened upon returning the vehicle.Due to unforeseen circumstances, I had to leave the truck at the hospital briefly, as I am the only authorized driver on the contract. My wife personally spoke to your manager, who assured us that everything would be taken care of. However, over a week has passed, and I have not received any follow-up despite numerous attempts to contact your office.Moreover, the lack of transparency regarding the security deposit until the very end of the transaction was unexpected and concerning. I was not informed about the security deposit until after I paid and signed the contract, which resulted in an unexpected additional cost of $100 on top of the gas mileage payments.I have made multiple calls to your call center, spoken with representatives, and left detailed notes about my situation. I was even assured over the phone that everything was noted and taken care of, which was confirmed by the representative. I have a recorded conversation as proof of this assurance.The disregard for my situation and the failure to address my concerns are completely unacceptable. I urge you to rectify this situation promptly, refund my security deposit, and address the overcharges. Danielle AOverall not a great experience. We asked to extend our reservation and were informed it’s $90 to keep the cargo van overnight, on top of the hidden fees. We were charged a $25 cleaning fee before they even inspected the van. Waited outside for 15 minutes in the drop off zone to do our check in just to go inside and hand them keys anyways, when the sign clearly states to wait outside. The team wasn’t very nice during any of our interactions either.

James TWe drove just 8miles, and refill the fuel to previous condition (1 gallon) and after one hour they charge my $30 for fuel service and $97.50 for 15 gallon of gasoline????? They actually just still my money.
Sorbon KI was way overcharged for using a dolly. One receipt says I was charged $120. I will return to the site on Monday when I get back in town. And try and get a refund.
Chris CI rented a U-Haul van. The van (equipment) was clean but not well maintained. It had a cracked windshield on the driver side. The airbags needed servicing and the vehicle needed an oil change per the message displayed on the dash. Overall, the vehicle was fully functional and served my needs.
Srikesh SConsidering you didn't disclose the extra charges I would get for Safe Move Plus and return date and time I will never use your location again. There were circumstances out of my control and y'all decided to overcharge me anyway. Your people need to work on y'all's communication to your customers because it sucks!!!!!

Erenstine ALady working the checkout was great. computer system crashed right 000, she quickly went to paper backup and got everyone one very quickly. she was fantastic when I checked the trailer in also. I did not get her name, but she did a great job.
Brian WHave more staff. The two ladies behind the desk were very helpful and did a great job. The worker that was supposed to be outside helping with renting was absent. One of the ladies came out to help me get on my way with my trailer rental.

Robert RI was never at the location, so don't count that rating. Everything worked great. The drop off and pick up of the U-Boxes was great. Drivers were very pleasant and put the boxes where I could get to them. I took the advice of the web site and ordered an extra box, which I needed! The status of the boxes as they moved along was very helpful and appreciated.

TYROID HThe application used to upload photos of damage on the vehicle may need some work. It did not work properly using my iphone 13. It did not allow me to upload photos. The pictures of the vehicle that were already downloaded had one picture that was of a different truck. I was unable to indicate this when using the application. Everything else was fine.

Muneeb MTerrible experience. Waited in a long line to find out that there was no available truck for one way travel- which is what I reserved for. After the supervisor approved clearance for an in town truck to be taken one way, the truck I rented was missing its gas cap, with the fuel siphoned out of it. After I filled the tank and loaded the truck up, the transmission shuddered so hard on the trip that it rattled my belongings and broke many items. Logistics, security, and vehicle integrity were very disappointing. My company uses UHaul very often, but I will be mentioning my negative experience to them tomorrow.

I’ve always put my credit card to hold the vehicle for a deposit and I’ve always paid with cash when I was finished this time you guys aren’t doing cash I had to stay in line and wait for another person to process this for cash I did not have time for that today. It was a very much an inconvenience And you need to correct that because I’ve always put a credit card down for the deposit and I’ve always paid cash when I brought the truck back this time I have to stand in another line because the lady that did me didn’t know how to do it, you need to train your people Correctly and they all need to be able to process a crash payment because now I’m not gonna go through U-Haul ever again because this was a nightmare and I only had the truck from 10 AM to 2 PM and I had to stand in line for over an hour to get the truck and I had to stand in line for 45 minutes to return it. That is unacceptable .
Lisa HI start by saying that I am a long time repeat customer. I have always been satisfied with your customer service. I was very disappointed with my latest experience. On 3/14/24 I ordered a truck for 03/20/24 at 9:30am. The day before our scheduled pick up an email from you indicated an update to a different pick up location at 1:00pm. Later that same day another update came for a different pick up location. We changed all our plans to accommodate the change of time. When we arrived the next day we were checked in and sent to a lot offsite to get our truck. My driver told me the gas cover was off and I drove back to the office to make them aware. They asked me to drive back to the truck to start it to make sure there was gas. It was completely empty! I was told to come back in the office to get another truck. After the process we drove to the second truck. When it was started it was empty as well. By this time we had been at the U-Haul office for an hour and 20 minutes. We were told that we could take the second truck and get gas ourselves just down the street which we did because our move by now was way behind. The whole experience was very irritating and unprofessional. This was a One Way truck which we returned the next day at a facility two hours away. The employee at the drop off location said she was not expecting THIS truck and it was short of gas. We told her it was ZERO gas when it was picked up. I will need to make at least two more moves but I am reluctant to use U-Haul for this process because I don’t know what to expect or how I can plan.

ed c | Overall ExperienceFor any issues, U-Haul pushes the app and there is very little viable other choise; however, the U-Haul app did not work. It did not recognize the email or mobile phone number I used on the reservation, so I could not log in. When I attempted to create a new profile, it sent me a verification code which I immediately entered (I did this numerous times) and always got an error message that said the code had expired!? The truck turn signal indicator worked randomly ... many times the left signal would not work and the right signal would go on in the neutral position. The tire monitor would go on after 50 miles with a message ... however, when I would stop and check the tires, there was no problem. The driver's side visor is broken and falling out. The sliding rear door cable on the passenger side is fraying. Never again UHaul for me! And this doesn't begin to cover the absolute nightmare I encountered when I made a reservation at the same time for a storage unit in Pueblo West.

Steven CThe entrance to the facility is basically in an alley behind several buildings, making it uncomfortable due to the area and vagrants asking for money in exchange for “helping.” We noticed a couple of them piggy backing into the facility after customers used a code to open the entrance, when gaining access to the building. We came during the day and it did not feel safe, which I could only imagine it would feel even less safe after dark. We were stuck on the after unloading our first load into our unit on the second floor. Presumably, “another customer had not closed the door on the 3rd floor after exiting the freight elevator.” We paged the helpdesk and were told they would be right over… we could hear other customers on the first floor getting frustrated and yelling up the elevator shaft for someone to close the door so they could also use the elevator. After 15+ minutes, we finally heard the office tenant yell up to “take the emergency exit to get out.” Once we got outside, the tenant stated she could not gain access from the outside because her co-worker had taken the key with them when they left. She also said that they had been having issues with the elevator not working properly for “a while now..” We got stuck the second trip up to our unit and had another person on the first floor check the elevator door, to find out it was closed, but not sending the elevator up. They opened and shut the elevator again, and immediately it sent the elevator up. This is a frustrating and inconvenient flaw or operational issue that wastes a great deal of time and patience during an already unpleasant chore.. moving.. it would be helpful if there was a stairwell inside of the building to gain access between floors in these elevator door sensitivity instances. We were eventually able to finish our move in and monitored the elevator doors very closely.. moving as quickly as possible to avoid having to close them between moves.. we were lucky it wasn’t a very busy time and no one was inconvenienced by us holding up the elevator between trips.
Shawn M | Online Move InI used less mileage on 3.9.2024 and paid $53.44. My previous rental I paid $49.30 on 2.25.2024 and paid $4930. I was told that I would be credited back and was not. Both times I made sure the tank was full. When I get credited back I will then have a good review to give. Currently I was not told the truth.
Bridget LWaited 25 minutes for counter service. Only one customer ahead of me. One counter worker serving that customer, a second counter worker outside performing minor repair. My presence was not acknowledged for 15 minutes. Employee was sarcastic when I responded to her that I was there for a reservation time 25 minutes earlier. Stopped my intake process to take an internal call on speaker phone with co-worker's complaints about a customer not paying storage business charges. Yard and office empty of employess when I returned vehicle.
Ronald OJasmine is the best, she was running the business by herself, including hooking up trailers to trucks. Very professional.

Milt LI was overcharged for the truck rental. I lost atleast an hour of my life and moving time each time I went in due to disorganization and other people's orders being mishandled as well. Customer service is horrible. Though, I had positive interactions with Barnaby and he did his best, the problem is higher than the service people. My ubox arrived damaged or was damaged onsite I lost my entire couch and half of my furniture, supplies, clothing and some irreplaceable items.

She tried to charge me a late fee and threaten me with a lien on my property after all my items were gone. I had to file a formal dispute in order for a storage unit that I only used for a month and three days. I was disappointed because I have always used that particular uhaul facility for all my moving needs. As long as she manages that store I will not take my business there.

There were a number of employees who discriminated against us for the whiteness of our skin and our hairstyles (or lack of hair in my husband's case). A lighter-skinned young black female with spiral curls was extremely hard to communicate with, and she denied us bigger rooms and bigger vehicles both times we were in there. The last day she seemed to disable our access card, which was very inconvenient. A black male employee locked us on the second floor when we were bringing our things. He knew we were up there because he talked to us. The only non-racist we encountered was the employee who first checked us in, a young, thin black girl with slightly darker skin. She was very friendly and seemed genuinely concerned about the way the other girl was treating us.

I was frustrated but U-haul and the staff did address the situation vigorously and treated my unit 4 times a week for 3 weeks. I was happy that they took my situation seriously but very unhappy that I had a problem with cockroaches for nearly a month. The staff and management was very accommodating, however, and took my frustration seriously and assured me It was being addressed. It was being addressed and by the time I moved out one year and one month later, I no longer had any issues with cockroaches.

Employee sent new employee to beat on door. 20 minutes later office employee walked by and commented are u still waiting and walked away. We continued to beat on door Meanwhile other storage customers went in and out saying this happens all the time. Finally the crack head living on 2nd floor closed doors. While I put my objects in storage I left doors open until another customer came and promised he would be sure to close doors. Well he didn't. I was yelling out of 3 rd story windows To get someone to close doors. Never ever will I close doors to allow use by anyone while I'm at facility. In stead of me contacting you about my dispute, you can contact me and. Convince me not to shoot your company down by every chance I get.

The inside elevator doors would not stay open they would close on me while trying to come in and out and it would hit me on the head. There was also a few times that I would be at my storage unit and trying to call the elevator and was stuck on the second floor for over 10 minutes. There was also no bathroom on the second floor for my daughter who is potty training to use. During the summer there is no ac on the second floor so it got hot very quickly. And to be completely honest, using the smallest unit available it was way to expensive. I will not ever reccomend this uhaul storage to anybody, and will not ever come here again.

None the less, I felt they took advantage of my homelessness and gave me a unit that the lighting was bad (time out every 5 min). Also, it appeared someone attempted to pry the lock off in May, which forced my hastened my decision to move out. They did not refund me for the 20 remaining days on rent. Also the one and only cargo elevator was often broke or way too busy!

I think that is ridiculous and unacceptable. At a minimum, I should have been given at least 1/2 a month back, knowing that you will likely re-rent that unit w/in 2 weeks. I was beyond disappointed in U-Haul as a company as a result. My family has spent quite a bit of money at U-Haul over the past year, and this situation will cause me/us to think twice and find alternate options the next time I need a truck or storage. Big fail on U-Haul’s end!!!

Michelle S | First ImpressionsThe building housing my storage unit was clean and well maintained, however the restroom no so much. When you are moving in, or out of a storage unit depending on the size of the unit, or how much time you spend there, at some point you are probably going to need to use the restroom. I was typically in and out of there quickly, but the couple of times that I did need to use the restroom it was below standards in my opinion. Was it the most disgusting restroom that I have ever seen, no it wasn't, but it needs more thorough cleaning, and more frequent attention, especially given that it isn't a public restroom, so not just anybody has access to it. The only other problem that I had was that I moved into the unit in late May 2021 with the promo of 'One month free'. Before I completed my first paid, and first free month I received a notice of an increase on my rent. One of the reasons given was to ensure facility upkeep and cleanliness! This is the same facility that doesn't keep the restrooms clean! Bad move. First of all I just moved in and you are already increasing my rent! On top of that you say it's to help keep the facility clean, and I don't even want to use the restroom because it's just not clean enough??!! That's a hard pass for me. I immediately gave notice to move out. The general manager said that she doesn't decide when the rent is going to be increased, which is probably true, but software is a thing. They should have a program that can flag the move in date of each unit, and send an increase based on when you moved in, not just the same random date for everybody!! It leaves a bad taste when you just moved in!! At the end of the day, I found a facility that is much closer to my home, super clean, and at a price that I can live with! Having said all of that, the staff was always friendly, though the wait could be long sometimes even with just a couple of customers in ahead of you. Overall it was a fine experience, but could have been better.

phillip w | First ImpressionsWe were dealing with an unexpeted situation that day, so finding a place that has truck rentals, AND storage facilities was awsome! We had previously decided to use a storage facility in Lone Tree, (which is VERY CLEAN) and closer to were we live, but having been given a unit in your newer building across the street which is also clean, AND brightly lit, we just decided to take advantage of the convenience of what you offer. Now when you are moving it takes time, so at some point you are probably going to need to use the restroom. That is where you guys fell down a little bit. While it wasn't throw-up inducing disgusting, it could have used some attention. There was dried #2 residue in the toilet bowl. The fact that it was dry, and would not even flush away after a couple of us used the facility indicates that it was probably left there from much earlier in the day (or maybe even from a previous day), and is really not acceptable. The bathroon should probably be checked AT LEAST once an hour, and the employees should be required to bring the proper cleaning materials with them EVERY SINGLE time, so that they can address whatever problem they encounter. They aren't going to use their hands to clean a dang somewhat public toilet, which is obviously understood. That's why they need to bring a toilet brush with them (or maybe even leave one in the bathroom) because NO ONE is going to steal a nasty toilet brush. Cleaning the toilet regularly will also cut down on stinky bathroom odors. We got hungry at a certain point and ran to grab some food to bring back to the facility (we ate it on the curb outside), so we needed to wash our hands. Dealing with the bathroom right before eating was frankly, GROSS! Other than the bathroom, I was quite happy with the experience. All of the employees we friendly, and the guy that helped us was great!
