This was my first time renting a U-Haul truck, and unfortunately, I had a very poor experience while taking possession of the vehicle. The main issue was that the mobile app was malfunctioning, so I was unable to complete the pickup process. Since it was a Sunday, the location was extremely busy, and I had to wait for almost an hour to be served at the counter. Even then, the system crashed during the first attempt. Fortunately, the front desk staff tried again, and the process was completed on the second attempt. I would strongly recommend that U-Haul address the app and system issues, as they significantly affected the customer experience. The pickup process should be simple and efficient, especially for first-time customers. Based on this experience, I would find it difficult to recommend the service to others until these technical issues are resolved.

Trailer was dirty with gravel from a previous client. I was charged a cleaning fee as well as an extra day for a 5 hour rental on a trailer that was dirty. U-Haul head office rectified the extra charges upon review of photos taken before taking the trailer off site.

I booked a 15 feet truck and confirmed with the location for moving on 28th of June, 2026. But when I went to pick up the truck, they said to me that they can't provide me the truck due to the truck shortage. And they canceled my reservation. And they pushed me to take the 9 feet Van. For this reason, this moving cost me lots more what i was expected with 15 feet truck.

Good location, lots of equipment but some of the counter staff can be a little off-putting. The people working the equipment have always been solid to me. Also not sure what the point of checking in in advance is... it barely saves anytime. I just want to get my equipment and get out. Please try to figure out how to make this more efficient. Last negative, last time I was charged for CDW insurance even though I clearly said I didn't want it. My fault, I noticed it AFTER I returned the trailer??

Location difficult to find. It’s inside a waste management area and not clear instructions. Also had booked 4 dollys however this location does not offer any dolly and was not stated in the app. Had to look at another location which also they were none but they said if we rent for a few hours and return by 7am they can give us but will charge the full day cost. Very very inconvenient. Had to return both things at separate locations. Also unprofessional and no proper set up for U-Haul pick up or drop off. Would not recommend this location and the whole experience. Made moving day harder and more stressful.

One of the worst experience ever. To begin with, I reserved a dolly online and went in person to pickup they said no dolly are available. Infact I have been charged for the dolly. The staff was rude.

Pay more attention to customers. I was talking to one of your associates for a little about my online reservation. I wanted to change my requested truck from a 15 footer to a 20 footer. However, the associate left instructing me to just scan the QR code without hearing me that I have a question. I was standing in front of where the associate was working. In the meantime other associates were taking in customers and I was left waiting for an associate to help me finish my transaction. The associate did come back, however, I lost a significant amount of time waiting for an associate to complete my transaction. The nearby associate who was working beside where I was standing, gave me the key. I got out; found the truck; did all my necessary check with the vehicles; the system stalled me for a bit; went back inside the store; told the associate that was there that the pictures kept stalling. I halted one of the associates inside the store about my technical issues with my camera. He just told me just take a picture from your camera and you're good to go. So, I left.

My reservation was first not able to be located, then when located the equipment to rent wasn't available even though I booked online and talked to 2 different customer service agents to confirm my booking in the week prior. The female I dealt with in store Friday was great but the situation wasn't. She swapped out my request with what was available but while I was inside for over a half hour, another customer backed into my vehicle and damaged it. The other customer apparently got out and talked with an employee about hitting my truck. The employee did not record the license plate and the offending customer drove off. Now I have a damaged truck and no way to go after this customer because both store employees and head office say they don't have access to the cameras and the manager is on vacation until this Friday. All in all, not a great experience and definitely leaves me questioning if my business should go elsewhere. I mean if this is how you treat your clients, I can imagine why they'd take their hard earned dollars elsewhere.

Frankly- automated check in process was a deterrent and makes me want to seek out another company. It might electronically efficient but it takes away the personal service and interaction. I had to run around a large lot to find my rented vehicle - only to see it was blocked in. Then go back and wait again to get another key. And then run around to find it again. There wasn’t anyone outside to help. It was a shit show. It took an hour to get checked out. It was awful. I get the APP process of checking vehicle b4 leaving the lot. But the check-in process was horrible and driving customers to do it electronically is a deterrent.

Very rude staff indoors, in particular the older woman working the front that's not very good in english was rude and bossed everyone including customers around and the other young indian-canadian woman was very rude going on her phone while I waited for her to serve me and simply do her job. The young man at the counter was awesome, he took me back to the unit after I cleared it to confirm and we had a good chat about (censored) but that was about it.

Worst staff on the planet. Staff speak in Hindi amongest themselves. Extremely rude no clue how to speak to costumers. When picking up and dropping off I got nothing but attitude. They don't give a sh*t about costumers. The other customers that were there also were treated extremely bad. No clue how to communicate in a pleasant manner. All three members were rude and useless. When I dropped the trailer no one came out, I waited for a while and then I unhooked the trailer and parked it. It was pouring rain, I ended up going in and asked if there's anyone around the were rude and told me to go and wait. I will no longer going to use this location. Ruined my day coming here.

Staff as always GREAT! The truck should be removed. - had a 1/4 tank of gas on the guage drove off the lot and the 50 mile gas warning came on. This meant i had to stop for gas before anything. - rip on passenger seat - passenger mirror could not be adjusted - Getting up to speed was an experience. The gears shifted with a clunk This was the worst truck i have ever had from uhaul

I would like to share some feedback about my recent experience. It takes a long time to get a vehicle, especially on weekends. During my visit, there was only one employee responsible for vehicle registration, assisting customers, and answering phone calls at the same time. This made the process very slow and resulted in long lineups. In my opinion, weekends are usually the busiest times, as many customers need vans, trucks, and other rental vehicles. It would be helpful to have two or three staff members available to assist customers and answer phone calls so that service can be provided more efficiently. I appreciate the service your team provides, and I hope this feedback helps identify an area for improvement. Thank you for your hard work, and I wish you all the best. Good night.

It was such a ridiculous process to rent my own vehicle … so poorly designed and thought out. This is the first bad review I’ve ever left in my life… but it really was just that bad. I’m now motivated to go and spend a couple grand on my own truck just so I never have to interact with U-Haul… please improve your mobile system or get rid of it entirely.

I Ordered TT2043G and upon getting to my location where I was to load my properties into the equipment, I noticed it the vehicle (TT2043G) was too big and immediately called U-Haul customer care line. a new reservation was done for me while to initial was was meant to be cancelled at Warden station in Scarborough (pick-up location). I went in that evening and dropped the keys with Uhaul staff. I was told I won't be charged for rental for the initial one, but when I got my receipt, I was charged for the rental separately. This is wrong and it is deceptive. ALL your staff told me all I would have to pay for the initial vehicle was the mileage. Why was I charged for rental when you have access to the vehicle almost immediately and could rent it out to another user? This is sheer deception from Uhaul.

the place was extremely busy, hard to get in or out, and almost no place to park. the trailer was very dirty, and had oil on it. but the guys were quick to give it a blow to remove the dirt and tried to clean the oil and they were nice enough to give me couple card boards to put on the floor . Over all it did the trick.

Lokesh and Akash came through for me on very short notice, and I couldn’t be more grateful. They quickly loaded my 20-foot truck, handling 10–12 bins, a pair of couches, a dresser, and several really heavy furniture pieces with ease. Everything was packed securely and efficiently.On top of that, they unloaded everything just as smoothly at the destination. The entire job was completed in about 3 hours without any issues. Their speed, professionalism, and willingness to help last minute really stood out. I’d definitely recommend them to anyone looking for reliable and efficient moving help

Garage storages are rusty and not well maintained. I moved to cleaner and and more secure place even it's more expensive than U Haul. Also, it's very packed with trailers around the storages which makes it difficult for customers to move around and access the storage.

​A series of significant issues I encountered with your rental and storage systems on March 7, 8, and 9, 2026. While your on-site staff remained professional and empathetic throughout the process, the inefficiency of your computer systems caused me nearly 7.5 hours of unnecessary delays. ​Specifically, I encountered the following issues: ​Redundant Data Entry: I was forced to provide the same information for my storage contract and truck rental multiple times as the system failed to retain or process my data correctly. ​Data Privacy Breach: I received a text notification regarding another client’s request for a "second driver." I have no knowledge of this individual, and this suggests a serious error in how your system manages private customer data. ​Facility Issues & Systemic Upselling: I was initially assigned a storage unit that was leaking water. When your staff attempted to move me to a dry unit, the system automatically attempted to charge me for the change rather than facilitating a straightforward swap for a damaged unit. ​I appreciate the local staff’s efforts to resolve these hurdles each day, but the "inconvenience" caused by your digital infrastructure is unacceptable. I am requesting a review of my account for a partial refund or credit to compensate for the significant time lost and the frustrations caused by these technical errors.

I was generally happy until I ended my rental on January 18th and then was charged $192 on January 20th! I now have to waste time from my day to call and try to get the charge reversed. I cannot tell you how angry I am that the person who checked me out and confirmed locker was empty didn’t close the account resulting in the erroneous charge. Terrible service.

the booking system is misleading and causes alot of frustration. i booked on call with assosiate they took my card number to make a booking. i confirmed that i will just need to go and pick ip, yes? they confirm yes, that someone will call me to confirm the booking van and storage. So, when i reached the facility to pick up van, i was told theres not booking. then again when i reached for the storage, i storage i had been assigned was no longer available cause more frustration and delays.

I have used this place at least twice with extra charges, this time the same, I only rented for a month but deducted me for two months. I went to the office four times a week to get my extra deductions back and each time I was told the manager was not in and that the manager would call me but I never got a feedback. Today is the fourth time and they told me I have to come back for a fifth time. I don't understand how difficult it is to get a refund on a tour and the manager is always out of office during working hours, please give me a reasonable explanation?

There are more affordable, bigger units, and those with elevator access available at competitors. U-haul storage was not my first choice, but due to limited time to move-in and return the truck I opted for a more expensive, smaller unit, and without elevator access, instead of going to the competitor. I have nothing to complain about my almost 5 years at the Warden U-Haul storage location. My only suggestion, is they need to have more people working the counter stations. Especially at the end of the day near closing time. This is my only criticism. Other than that, I couldn’t be happier with my experience with U-Haul storage. I had reserved online a particular storage unit base on it's size. At the time of booking there was one unit left. I had the option of paying at the counter or completing the transaction on line. I choose at the counter. When I arrived I was told the locker wasn't available anymore. I assumed they meant because of me. The staff said no, someone else rented it. When I asked for an explanation they said is was on first come basis. I don't understand how you can book online and have the store override the transaction. Access to the outside unit is good. Unit very spacious. But outside area is not well lit at night. I had to keep my car headlights on to see what I was doing. Not clear on how security is maintained at night. No security gates. I opted to move my stuff to another non-Uhaul facility as this one I found to be not only overpriced but also not maintained well. My boxes were damp and right from my first day there I had a terrible time trying to close the locker door (I also had two friends attempt to close it and both struggled as well). Additionally, every time I opened the door or shut it a bunch of sawdust (our what I believe to be sawdust would fall on me). The containers were not in good condition and I was not willing to risk having my stuff in there during the Winter months.

STOP IT! management: wake up to the fact you don't understand what customer service means. Get retrained so that the staff don't get the full brunt of the criticism and harassment because of your blindspots. I would never buy a franchise for that reason. I was given an all-in price on the phone and I arrived with my own lock which was a high quality lock. When I came in to rent the van body, I was told I was required to purchase and use a Uhaul lock. That lock was junk and did not even secure through all three portions of the van body door fastener (but my own lock did). The staff were rude on several occasions. additionally, I was taken for the first time, on a golf cart, to see the unit, the driver smashed the roof of the cart on the opening garage door and debris flew at me. The ‘gold’ lock that goes on the left side of the unit is also a joke. One swing of a tack hammer would open it. Obviously this is just a means of pressuring people into paying more for 24 hour access in addition to forcing people to buy a crappy uhaul lock. The location is not secure and my unit leaked, damaging a $4000 mechanical massage chair. I have, over the years, rented many, many uhaul trucks, mostly for business purposes, but sometimes for personal use (as I did to fill up my vanbody storage rental). I did not rent from uhaul when I emptied it out. Because of your unfair, gauging policies, rude staff, inadequate facilities and the generally poor service (staff would not even provide me a paper receipt a email only) uhaul has lost my business permanently. Your service is terrible!

Rent increased 3 TIMES in ONE year. We had the 24 hour access but a few times the alarm had gone off making it really inconvenient and loud to move things around! Expensive to rent. Staff were nice.
