The only thing thant i didn't like is the customer service experience, it's the firdt time i came here so i needed assistance with the check out using my app, and asked few questions to an agent, but i didn't luke his behavior, not even a smile, didn't look at me for the most part of when i asked questions !!! Such a disappointment.

The staff outside are great and very friendly and helpful. The staff at the counter always tend to be curt. Uhaul's online check in and vehicle inspection apps have too many glitches and barriers in them and both become incredibly frustrating making the experience miserable. The check in wouldn't recognize Ontario as part of my address and therefore ceased to function. The vehicle inspection needs to allow for uploading pictures from your phone. The app wouldn't work with my cell phone camera, despite giving it permission to.

The van was unsafe. Violent shaking when braking at highway speed. Do they inspect their vehicles regularly? Another customer dropping off their vehicle said that their vehicle was in a similar state of disrepair, and that they also felt unsafe, which indicates that my experience was not a one-off. The after hours drop off function on their phone app didn't work (per rental agreement I would be charged extra for not using the app). The other customer had the same problem while dropping off. Also, there was garbage in the van from previous renter, and the rental paperwork indicated that the gas tank was more full than it actually was. I attached a handwritten note when dropping the key in the drop off box, explaing all the above. No one has followed up with me. I've received no explanation, apology, or offer of compensation in any form. I guess this is how customer service works now.

The customer service at the counter is poor. The staff are slow and unfriendly. It takes them a long time to do a simple thing like filling out the forms for renting a truck. They are sloppily dressed and appear like they are doing the customer a favour. It must be management. Customers have to line up for a long time and even though there are other staff available they don’t come out and assist but let me people wait. Also for some reason larges stacks of boxes were placed in front of the counter so it was quite awkward for the customers. And this is the thirds time I have rented in the past three years and it’s always the same. Terrible customer service. Really you need to fire all the staff and start over.

I needed an open utility trailer with the ramp on the back and this location offered great service and good value. Specially helpful with Nick! He made the experience seamless and pleasurable. Thank you, Nick and thank you U-Haul.

Everything was perfect until I returned the truck, the guy inside told me to put 5$ gas for 10 kilometers. The guy outside tried to charge me for some gas, the needle was at same spot than from pickup. I did not appreciate this. Everyone is telling me Orleans is much better. Also there was one guy behind the counter that was rude.

When I arrived for pick-up it was total chaos. Vans parked all over the place from the night before. No access to facility. The line up was over 60-people deep and I had to wait over an hour to pick-up my van even though it was booked one-month in advance. And, no, the app doesn't work. And why should I upload my passport and get a letter from my employer just to use the App. That's far to much information just to rent a van. There were no dollies available. Again, I had booked a dolly one-month in advance at the time of booking. If dollies are on a first come basis, they shouldn't be listed as an option online. Drop-off was complete chaos. I dropped off around 9:30 PM at night. No staff to organize parking of returns. Vans were scattered all over the place leaving no where for anyone to drop of their van. Total chaos. I had to drive over the grass to get access to a parking area. All of this chaos (which then impacts the next morning) would be solved by have a staff person organize drop off parking after 5pm when the location is closed. The location is in complete chaos. I will not rent from this location again.

I was never informed of the fact that uhaul truck cargo doors are not lockable, you have to buy your own lock. Maybe it's common knowledge, maybe not. A friend pointed it out to me the day I picked up the truck. Otherwise, awesome experience.

Was very busy at 9am for pickup with many customers there at the same time. Took an hour in line to get my trailer. Would be better if staff could tell those in line what was going on and what to do. Also, the driveway into the lot was completed blocked when I arrived, so I had to park on the property next door and then go get my car after I finished checking in. Was worried I would get towed.

The pick-up for the 1-way rental was very clean and accessible. The staff was very helpful and friendly. We arrived and were driving within 20 minutes of arrival with the clean, fully fueled rental.

I reserve a 26’ for 8:30 am 2 days prior they change to a 20’ for 11:30 am I call. I tell them I can manage the smaller truck but not the time. They tell me come in, no problem they are open and I can take the truck at 8:30 Show up. No truck. Help on the way. It cost me 3 hours and 2 helpers. Never again, I’ll pay the extra for Penske, budget, or enterprise. Get fucked

I booked online days in advance and did the check in properly and I’ve got last minute change of the location, after I moved to the next location they tell me the van it’s not available there so I have to move to a next location. And on top of that when I got the van y notice that the dollys I rented were not there, so I had to figure out a way to fix all this. And to top it off I got charge for the use of two dollys that I’ve never used. So if you ask me I’m beyond disappointed with this company.

Oil change on truck was overdue the smell in the truck was really bad like if someone worked all day with it the day before and didn't put on any deodorant.And the passenger side door had a a defect and was sending a message that the door wasn't close even though it was slammed shut and locked

I had to call customer service for them to activate my booking on my account so I could get the password to my key box. This should have been done from the start. My truck did not have the furniture covers that I paid for in the bed of the truck. So I had to move without them.

I picked up the vehicle and drove it to my address. It was only once I arrived and went to load my belongings that I realized the rear door was damaged and would not open at all. By that point the office was already closed, so there was no way to return the van, exchange it, or reach anyone for assistance. We had no choice but to load through the side door only, which meant most of our furniture could not fit. The mattress, the bed frame and the couch do not bend, so none of them could pass through the side opening. We ended up having to rent a second vehicle from another company in order to complete the move. The van was not in a usable condition for the purpose it was rented for, and the damage should have been identified before it was handed over to me. I am requesting a full refund of this rental. Please let me know how you would like to proceed.

Staff seemed very confused about processes and what they wee communicating. Definitely could have been more friendly or welcoming. Was disappoint that the skip the line feature does not work forcing long lines and wait times.

Both front tires on my U-Haul truck were bald and should be replaced. It was fine for traveling in Ottawa but i would not recommend that unit be used to go out of town.

storage unit was dirty upon move in. Hard to access drive up unit. Concrete blocks leave narrow passage for vehicles and only one entrance at each side of lot. Otherwise staff were friendly and professional. Just a poorly designed facility that seems to be in disrepair.

storage unit in poor maintenance with pieces of metal hanging from the door. I cut myself. Unit 445 leaked and all my boxes got wet. Staff are unfriendly- it's like they don't want to be there. The one lane access is ridiculous. There was a black SUV blocking the entrance way when I arrived so my moving truck couldn't easily access. Apparently the black SUV belonged to the "boss" that's what the guys working outside told me. Billing reminder calls are an insult and the person calling sounds bored and angry. I moved to Dymon Storage as their service and facility is worth the extra $20/month. I will recommend all my friends and colleagues to Dymon Storage rather than U-Haul. I think you should stick to renting trucks. unless one day you get serious about storage. It looks like just a cash grab for U-Haul

The staff were not knowledgeable. The unit is awful, hard to access, and smelled bad (like it had been wet). The entrance ramp was steep, icy, and dangerous. The one cart (there is only one, nobody else was there) was of poor quality. The hours are inconvenient. The entire operation is of a very low quality, considering the prices, would never use again.

The check in process was very difficult. The manager was rude, belittling, and unhelpful. Told me that the reservation that I had made was not valid and that it was for another location (which was untrue - once he finally checked his system, it was clear that it WAS the correct location and what I had reserved was available). He then proceeded to tell me that the lock I had purchased (a high security level) was not good and that I needed to purchase his lock. Horrible customer service.

The "general manager" of the Coventry location is completely incompetent and idiotic. I had settled on a final payment for my unit due to negligence to maintenance of their property my property had been damaged! I lost 3 tvs a bunch of artwork clothes covered in mold and all my tools rusted. I should've just let the unit go and allowed it to be their problem but despite my better judgement I agreed to settle on a price and move my belongings out of my unit and terminate my occupancy. Upon going to pay for my settlement price the "general manager" or at least that's what his shirt said was completely ignorant and basically tried to bully me into paying an outrageous price instead of the discussed settled price by trying to strong arm me, he aggressively approached me stating "you're here to pay your full amount and get out" I replied no I'm here to pay my settled amount and nothing more. I had spoken with. A woman by the name of Melanie and she was such a great help and a breath of fresh air during this disgusting encounter. She had discussed a settlement price with me which I went to go pay in full and start moving out my items. They gave me until the 4th of August to remove my items or they will be declared garbage. I assured her I will be out by that day. I arrived today July 30th to remove whatever items I can fit in my car until I have access to a truck this weekend, later today (July 30th) after doing my loads for the day the "general manager" calls and says "uhh yes why is your lock still on our locker you're supposed to move out today" I replied no I have until the 4th to remove my belongings and unlock the unit. does UHaul not train their management staff members on properly talking to the general public as well as basic knowledge on their job? There is no excuse for me to be greeted in such an aggressive manner, there is no excuse for harassing me and contacting me at my private number when they clearly have the information on their system stating I have the unit until the 4th!! Just curious how he got his job position because he is absolutely useless at his job. Offers zero positive marks for customer service experience during my visit, belittled a worker in front of me because they were going to allow me to make sure my belongings were still in there, attempted to strong arm/bully me into paying an outrageous price, had zero knowledge on the situations going on in his location, and now harassing his clients over problems he could quickly find the answer to in my file with u haul! Terrible experience. I will NEVER use uhaul again. They ruined most of my belongings that I cared enough about to pay for storage on and then bullied me when I asked for a solution. Anyone who asks me will be getting referred to another storage facility because this experience was/is just unacceptable. I can't believe I paid you guys 315$ today just to retrieve belongings that were completely ruined by flood damage due to your negligence of maintenance to your facility and the lack of information I was given when I rented the unit! The worst ever experience with uhaul I have ever had. The story goes, the day I returned my truck, After i moved out of my home, when I left my husband, he called th3 uhaul asked if hus wife was there with my rental gave my name , the woman on the phone from uhaul tells him yes I'm there, in so doing this she violates uhauls privacy policy with giving out a customers information out to a third party . I never gave permission to have my wearabouts or information given to anyone. I have called corporate several times left many messages and have not been given a call back. Very disappointed 😞 and outraged that I have not even been compensated for the damage that was caused because of this. My husband showed up assaulted a friend and the police had to be called. This was a breach of privacy.

I went in and stated that I was renting the unit for only a month and I vacated the unit on time. They sent me an update by email on the 15th of the month that I rented and I sent them a update on the 31st stating that I had vacated as I promised. I also told the worker who was outside I had vacated. There was no procedure given and as we buy or own locks there is no reason to return to the facility especially since we were communicating by email and they're completely understaffed and poor customer service inside this facility. They state they ignore the emails and again no notification that they ignore the emails and donnot reply. I also called in to the facility as well. This is illegal and predatory as I am a handicap and this facility should be fined and people arrested especially if they are doing this to other disabled and elderly people.

Absolutely awful customer service — and no maintenance of the grounds what so ever. If anything they made it EVEN HARDER to get to the locker. From not snow plowing after major snow falls, parking rental trucks in front of the entrances and making it nearly impossible to enter the locker area. At one point an employee even had THEIR PERSONAL CAR parked at the only exit of the locker area. Because of the way the entrance to the lockers is set up I hit my truck twice on the side wall. When I first signed up for the locker it took them THREE DAYS because the locker “had a lock on it” even though it was supposed to be empty. They never answered the phone to help me with my issue so I had to repeatedly call — while being obviously hung up on — until someone finally decided to answer in an annoyed voice. Absolutely ridiculous set up and staff is so excruciatingly unhelpful and rude. I could not recommend this location any less than I do.

I would not recommend that anyone use the internal units at this facility. My unit flooded three times in the 10 months I had the unit. And in the very heavy rains the water went all the way through the facility. I ended up putting all my stuff up on risers and planned to get out as soon as I could. Having said that, the staff were always helpful and contacted us as soon as it happened.

1- The door was really hard to close and lock, lots of rust. 2- Water infiltration : 3 boxes were soaked and mold had built up inside - nothing really damaged since it was dishes boxes 3- Accessing the storage was complicated and not convenient : pick-up the key inside only during office hours, trucks parked in front of storage (most of the time it was not possible to backup to load and download)

Unprofessional stuff. Ruined my move into a new home. Picked up truck at 6:30pm explained I'm going to furniture store to get sofa and I'm coming back to get my stuff from the storage and I specifically asked if I'm ok to access the storage after 7pm closing time and I was told that's fine. On my big surprise I couldn't access the storage cuz they put a second lock that I didn't have a key for. Had to turn around and leave plus send home friends that came to help. Next morning I asked manager Ben again why is this happening. His answer was there's no access to the storage after 7pm....the evening before he said opposite. So dear u haul you lost me as a customer forever.

I will never recommend Uhaul Storage to anyone and have reported you to the Better Business Bureau and have thoroughly detailed the fraudulent business pertaining to your insurance coverage. I have been told this is not an isolated incident and that this is entrenched in how Uhaul conducts themselves. I am the Director of Communications for a $15 Billion CPG company and will also be reaching out to my national media contacts across Canada to share my story in hopes that I can save someone else from renting through Uhaul and save them from thousands of dollars in damages, too. On top of not properly maintaining the drainage system at the facility, Uhaul does nothing to mitigate vermin and instead just traps the ones they find, does not dispose of their carcasses, and does not care that they run rampant across the storage facility. Just an absolutely horrendous experience from start to finish.

Moving out was very stressful given the fact that the parking lot was a mess. To make matters worse my brother and I were asked to push some uhaul units out of the way by hand in the rain. Lineup inside was really long and nif moving. I would never use uhaul ever again. I have friends that have stored with Dymon storage and they are extremely happy with everything across the board. I truly wish I would have had a much better experience.

Benjamin and Donald were great. Ben went out of his way to be really helpful and without his help I would have struggled. All the staff was friendly and helpful

There was one older gentleman working there who just seemed to be angry and yelling at everyone. In person and on the phone. other staff were all great. But this one guy - miserable.

Reserved a dolly for my move then was informed that they rented it out to somebody else. Was told they are rented first-come-first-served, regardless of reservation, which utterly defeats the purpose.

They ran out of ice melt and the place was so piled full of snow my unit was hazardous to access. The outside guys were kind, moving 4 trailers so we could get my truck a little closer. rough day.

Ordered a 26' truck more than a week in advance and was offered a 15' with a small trailer add on. Cancelled order and went with Penske. Never use or want to hear from you people again

Forced to take a large storage after reserving a small, credit card was not billed and was forced to pay a late fee even though the office staff messed up. Staff are not friendly. Not using again

I had reserved my storage online and when I came in person the reservation was non existing. Then it took longer for them to get me another storage. Now my storage has water in it. Expensive not happy

We had a very good experience at this location. The young gentleman that assisted us showed us a two different storage rooms and was very efficient with the paperwork. He explained the process well.

Service and staff were great the only drawback is how busy the end of month was, there were too many clients for the amount of staff but they were friendly and courteous.

I enjoyed my experience at U-Haul. The storage unit kep my things dry and clean. My storage was in the basement so it wasn’t always practical to get into the storage unit sometimes the clerk was busy

Please update your point of sale card readers to accept chips. Using machines that only swipe cards triggers fraud alerts for TD Bank since most Canadian businesses use swipe-only card readers.

I am appalled by what's happened to my personal belongings at this storage facility. 75% of my items (most valuable!) were bitten into and damaged by mice urine and feces. Missing basic pest control!

Upon calling to confirm receipt of my storage, I was told that my confirmed storage unit was given to someone else but to throw more salt in the wound, there was no more units at all & told "oh well"

I was told by your call centre that a unit was reserved and would be waiting for me at this location - I arrived and staff said there were no available units. It was stressful / shouldn't have occured

The storage unit leaked rain water and several of our belongings got wet. One day over the phone staff mistakenly advised that they had no record of our information.
