Then nobody answered the phone for me or customer support. It did, however, get fixed quickly. If anything like this happens again I will be calling everyone in regional management. Jacob FThis experience was a nightmare start to finish. I'm a lifelong U-Haul customer - literally I've been using U-Haul since I was 16 years old and am 40 now and have used it for every move and always recommend U-Haul to all my friends and family. However, with this move, the staff at the Santa Clara, CA office were so unprofessional and rude, did not get me my boxes on time, refused to give any kind of discount for the trouble, and were just such an overall nightmare to work with that I will never use U-Haul U-Boxes or storage again. The national customer service line needs to coordinate with the local offices because whatever the national customer service line sets up for you is basically just a wish list until the local office approves it. My husband took off work TWICE and we got pushed back TWICE because the local office said what the national service line scheduled for us didn't work for them. My mother in law flew out to watch our little kids while we moved and was here a week and had to fly back the day before we even got any boxes delivered. Finally, when we did the boxes, the movers U-HAUL set up for us were supposed to get here at noon that day and by 5:30 at night we had to just call them and cancel and find our own last minute movers to come the next morning and help us unload the boxes. Then we had to call U-HAUL back and cancel and get our money back because you pay U-HAUL ahead of time for the movers. Seriously this was just such a nightmare. The people on the national customer service line were always professional and nice but then we would talk to the local staff at the Santa Clara office and they were SO unprofessional and rude over the phone. Normally if a company acted like this you would just be like, ok well I'm just going to take my business elsewhere, I don't need people to speak to me rudely and break promises and cause me all these financial losses because of scheduling errors and all the rest but when your stuff is in their U-Boxes you have to deal with them until you get your stuff back. DON'T USE U-HAUL - THIS COMPANY HAS GONE WAY DOWNHILL!

Scott RThe passenger side mirror of the 26 foot box truck was notable to stay adjusted and kept dropping to look at the ground. This was extremely dangerous. There was no live person to answer the phone to report this to. Someone is going to get into a serious accodent.

MOUHAMADOU DThe equipment was clean but something was wrong with tire balance or something and it hopped the whole time with and without the car being on it. It made terrible metal on metal slapping noise the whole time and I was grateful the trailer held together long enough to get where I was going.
Michael hWhen I made my reservation, I reserved both a truck and an appliance dolly because we were moving several heavy appliances and specifically needed the dolly for the move. However, when I arrived for pickup, I was told that appliance dollies are “first come, first serve” and that none were available. This was extremely frustrating because that is not how the reservation process is presented on your website. A reservation should mean that the equipment requested is set aside and available, not that it may or may not be there when I arrive. As a direct result of not having the appliance dolly we reserved, my husband had to move heavy appliances without the proper equipment and injured his back. This situation could have been avoided had the reserved equipment been available as promised. I am also very disappointed that although I initially reserved a truck at a location near my home, I was later required to travel approximately 40 miles to pick up the truck and then drive another 40 miles back home before even beginning our move. This added significant inconvenience, extra time, and unnecessary mileage to an already stressful moving day. Overall, this experience fell far below my expectations. Reserving equipment and then being told it is unavailable defeats the purpose of making a reservation in advance. I would appreciate a response regarding these issues and what U-Haul intends to do to address the inconvenience, additional travel, and injury risk caused by this situation.

MOUHAMADOU DI reserved for 9 AM pick up but moved to 4:45 PM. Hindered my plans for AM pick up. Then they scheduled my pick up at Salinas location which is 40 minutes out of my way and that was unacceptable. Then they spelled my last name wrong even after I called them to correct it. They are the only game in town so I couldn’t use anybody else because I would have.

Edgar HPretty sad when I rent a trailer for 48 hours get it back to the same facility I picked it up in less than 48 hours and I get charged a $20 fee because they were closed. I was still within my time and took photos to prove it.

Seems ridiculous not to get a full tank, and return it with a full tank. Then the employee told me to go across the street and put 2 gallons in. I declined… Not good business management. Fill the trucks up.

Michael DI tried to get the truck with the app and that was very confusing because it asked for a reference lease. Something of that sort which is unacceptable when I’m at the facility trying to login to get the truck. I just had to go inside and the guy at the desk took care of it. This part of the app needs to be updated and removed. I absolutely will never try to use the app again because of this.
Peter BI wish I remembered the name of the individual that processed by truck return. He has helped me before on prior rentals. He's stellar - one of the best U-haul staff I've interacted with. He's quiet but very efficient, effective, and really gets the job done.

Sergio DI had a geat experience with Uhaul from start to finish while moving coast to coast. I highly recommend this location to anyone in the area.
Richard GThe only concern was the engine light being on, and when I tried filling the tank, it literally overflowed before the gauge hit 3/4 a tank. One thing I will say is that the next time I return, I will search for Danny. Not only did he make sure everything on the list was accounted for, he walked out with me to inspect the truck, so I wouldn’t need to walk all the way back in if something was amiss. Of course, everything was perfect!
