This was the single worst customer service experience I have ever encountered. They charged me for full hitch installation, but when I went to a local U-Haul dealer to get the trailer attached, we realized that the U-Haul on N. Lamar did not install my ball OR do the wiring (that they charged me for). They had me come back to their location, and since the local U-Haul dealer was closing at this point, I had to get the trailer from them. It took MULTIPLE hours to get them to install the wiring and agree to a refund that was only half of my total (rental plus hitch installation). When they went to put the trailer on, they then informed me that they needed to put a different ball on than the one they JUST put on hours ago (even though it should’ve been put on earlier that week during the hitch installation). They then proceed to charge me for this new, more expensive ball. I could write so much more (and I will on Google reviews and Yelp) but this U-Haul location has taken enough of my time at this point. They delayed my travel by half a day, which has caused more expenses and issues. Do NOT go to this location. Go to ANY OTHER location. They will charge you for things they don’t complete and then have zero accountability when dealing with dissatisfied customers.

CELESTE CORDEROAntonia was delightful and very patient. I originally thought I wanted a box van but once in it I wasn’t comfortable with the setup. She tried to accommodate me in the original vehicle but then suggested we switch for a van. She did so with patience and grace. I’m very grateful to have had such excellent customer service.
Carmen CaccaveleOnline, the web site stated $96 for a two day unlimited mile rental. When I phoned the toll free number to inquire about ball size required, I was given a different price. THEN when I picked up the U-Haul trailer and explained I was moving my daughter from Austin TX to Temple TX and was going to returning U-Haul trailer in my hometown, Waco TX, I was charged MORE. None-the-less, trailer was rented for only 7 hours total. Just fulfill what your web site states.

Elder CantareroMultiple serious unsafe and inconvenient problems with pick up location/agent. 1) They did not keep a moving dolly for us although I had reserved over a month before and confirmed the day before. They simply said "sorry we rented out last dolly this morning!" This was a huge problem when moving from a second floor apartment using hallways, elevators, parking lots. 2) At pick up, upon checking the 10 ft truck, its dashboard gave a message about RR tire low pressure. When we told the agent, instead of addressing it, he dismissed it as 'just the sensor; tires change pressure in cold weather" (although it was 65 degrees)! So he didn't do anything about it. Well, the next day, after fully loading the truck and getting ready to drive from Austin to Houston, not only was the dashboard message still there, but also the tire was visibly low in pressure. So we had to go around and find a tire shop which actually checked and said tire was 25 psi below recommendation. They put air in it and we got on the road. 3) At pick up, the agent was confirming our return details, and when I asked him if we can change it at that time, he said he will change our return plans to "Customer is not Sure" and he said "that way, you can return the truck to any UHaul facility that accepts after hours returns. When we wanted to return at 10 pm on Sunday night, it was a mess because he had not updated the reservation as he had suggested. We ha to call U Haul Customer Service wherein Ruby tried to change but couldn't and we had to complete the process the next morning. There are more details to this last part which is well documented by Ruby at Customer Service and Lisa at Scheduling Dept. It was a terrible mess but thanks to those 2 ladies, it was sorted out. The agent at Austin N Lamar location (Lucifer M) was unreliable, incompetent and frankly harmful for all the above reasons.
Shahram BadreiThe length of the loading area was confusing. I needed 12 feet of flat surface because I didn’t want to bend what I was moving. That is why I got a 15 feet truck. The 15 feet, though, included the small loft above the cab. I did have to prop the material up slightly. Fortunately, it did not bend or break.

Logan PriceThe woman working (I believe she was the manager) was absolutely AWFUL. She had a terrible attitude and treated me with total disrespect. The other girl at the counter was decent and actual helped me with my rental. I needed a truck last minute and our usual Uhaul location was sold out. (The Burnet location team is WONDERFUL, by the way) This was the next closest with availability. NEVER AGAIN will we use this location. Completely unprofessional attitude with zero customer service skills.

I told her as long as it was the location near 183 and Burnet. That night I got a notification that it changed to McNiel and 183 and then University of Texas of N 35 both were no where near where I needed it to be. I had to Uber back to my car which was a huge inconvenience.

Alan BenacquistoAfter loading the vehicle on the auto transport the next morning to learn that one of the tires had a flat, it added 2+ hours of our already lengthy drive for the day. Overall, everything else was okay. The interior of the truck could have been cleaner, in particular the windshield that once it was night was incredibly hard to see and so we had to stop to find cleaner to clean it ourselves.

Although the only complaint I have is what I assume to be the shift manager, she was very rude and inappropriate with her fellow employees. Her behavior was unprofessional, and had it not been for the young man that assisted me, I would have taken mu business down the road.
DAVION JONES ROBLESAfter driving just a few miles, the dashboard lit up with a bunch of maintenance issues that needed to be done from stabilizer, airbag, and oil change. I turned off the stabilizer, but it was still showing up. Not sure if any of those also had to deal with the check engine light coming on, but i kept an eye on the temp and oil pressure. Gas mileage seemed to be less than 14 mpg it is supposed to be, especially seeing my trip was short, and almost all highway.

JAMES COLIN HARDINGThe cab of the truck we rental smelled HORRENDOUSLY like smoke, and there were no options in the self check in/returning vehicle on mobile to notify u-haul of this. We had our windows open the entire 30 mile trip to try to air it out for ourselves, it was awful. Also lack of parking for renters at this location is a little inconvenient. Otherwise a very easy rental with friendly staff and convenient location.

Asa BakerToday I was yelled at by a so called Manager named "B." She wouldn't even give a real name. I was called at my job during work hours and she accused me of several things and refused to give me a refund. Yelling at me, and seemed hostile, aggressive and unprofessional. She also didn't read my full complaints about my negative experience with the vehicle and my return. I don't feel comfortable nor safe discussing the issues of my truck nor my bill with her. I was asking for a refund since the truck needed an alignment and kept pulling to one side during my drive, it also had some sticky substance on the mat and a odor. I also explained I was charged a check in fee when I arrived and turned in the truck with the employees. They assured me I was good to go and the truck was checked in but I was charged... They took the keys from me right when I pulled up and locked the doors to the store and turned my keys into the drop box before I could even attempt the online checkin... therefore I wasn't sure of the exact milage, and I couldn't record my gas either. I think I was charged extra. This hasn't been a good experience for me... I want a refund.

U-Haul broke a promise to me as a customer, she was not interested in making anything right. The best she could do is give me the address of another UHaul which I asked a favor of someone to go to and they also didn’t have any after she told me they did.
