The truck got me through my 150 km drive, but the overall experience was frustrating. 1. App Check-In & Fuel Discrepancies: For the second time in a row, the Android app cut out before completing the check-in steps. Because of this glitch, I was completely unable to report that the actual fuel level in the tank was lower than what the app expected me to accept. 2. Terrible Cleanliness: The interior condition was unacceptable. The cabin was covered in dust, and the steering wheel was so filthy that I had to stop, buy a box of wet wipes, and use 10 of them just to scrub the grime off. Customers shouldn't have to detail a rental vehicle themselves before hitting the highway. 3. App Checkout Failure: At checkout, the Android app just spun endlessly. I finally had to log in on my spouse's iPhone just to successfully complete the process, as the iOS version seems much more stable. Whether it's a compatibility issue with certain devices or just a buggy Android build, both your vehicle maintenance and your digital experience need serious attention.

Carter KU-Haul in general not necessarily the workers of that location … but it’s July 1st. It’s obviously going to be the busiest time, so why not be better prepared? It’s not okay to make customers wait in line for 2 hours until getting the truck - when you reserve it ahead of time. It should be there on the time. I understand waiting maybe a 30 minutes wait but 2 hours is crazy. Leaving your desk and not coming back without any explanation- we were barely given any answers, very vague, all the employees just kept leaving and going in and out. It’s was just a mess and very disorganized. Then I get called the day after saying I didn’t bring back my truck?? Not the greatest service. It’s understandable that it’s busy cause it July 1st but then be better prepared for anything that can happen and have better customer service.
Jasmin GHad to wait 3.5 hrs in line before getting up to the counter, and then being told that my rental trailer wasnt there and that it had not been returned and is 8 days overdue. I had booked this trailer 1 month in advanced in the hopes uhaul would make sure that it would be at the location. But NOPE. What a terrible company to deal with

Jonathan WI had a reservation for June 28, 2026, at 12:00 PM. I made my reservation online on May 30, 2026, almost a month in advance. In June 28, I arrived half an hour before my reservation time. I waited in line for two hours before reaching the counter. Finally, when I spoke to an agent, he informed me that there were no trucks available! This is truly terrible! When I asked when I might get a truck, he replied that nobody knows, maybe in an hour, maybe in two hours, or more. I could rent a truck when it returned from the previous rental. The manager explained that the reservation is made by the system and the agents are not responsible for this situation. This was a truly terrible situation for me: I booked elevators at two different buildings, asked my friends to help me move, and in the end, I was left without a truck! At 4:00 PM, I finally received a van instead of the 10-foot truck I had ordered. I understand that this is a difficult time for moving, but I thought your company would be more serious about its customers. I had a truly awful experience and I wouldn't recommend U-Haul to anyone in the future.

Keven BWe arrived at 8:45am for our 9am pick up. We received our truck at 12pm! (everybody there had to wait for hours and some people didnt get a truck that they had rented!!!). Absolutely ridiculous lack of organization.
Kimberley-ann ARespect the location reservation. I was suppose to pick the truck in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu. I had to pick the truck in ville Lachine for 9 am and receive the truck at 12h30. I had to pay the 4 movers 2 and 1\2 hours to wait.. The day after,I received a phone call to ask me if I bring back the truck.... Not satisfied of your service.
denise tI waited 3h to get the car. The app for check-in was failing. Only one person on the counter. There was no cap on the gas tub and I had to wait 30min more. And I paid extra fee for gas I didn't use. Worse service ever!!
Audrey PYou need more customer service who can speak English and French. Someone that answer calls. All the customer agents in this location very unprofessional! They put you on hold right after they answer the calls and put you on hold for long hours! Bad on communications and wrong informations! Was told $1 per milliege! On the day of pick up the truck they change is $1.95 double the price. Very bad customer service

Paul SAbsolutely terrible check-in experience. The app wasn't working at all, and there was only one person working the desk with a line of 25 people. We spent 2 hours stuck in a line that barely moved. Completely unacceptable understaffing and poor service

gerald dOn my short time there I saw quite a chaotic situation with tons of problems - They seem unable to meet the workload in terms of staff. Tons of customers waiting in line for hours while 2 employees run around trying to find keys of trucks - As a result everyone gets their truck super late, like an hour to two hour late - People who got told to "skip the line" because they filled the app form had to wait in line to get a key, I was in that line and waited 50 minutes -Every customer is super pissed and employees are rude and out of patience - A customer even tried to cut in line by bribing an employee (gave them 20$), there was a confrontation over that between customers and the staff did not resolve it As another customer in line pointed out, it really felt like we were in a 3rd world country. This experience will mark me as how bad customer service can be. It's really rock bottom

Staff did not try to accelerate service or explain that the process could go faster through the app. Adding insult to injury , uhaul overcharged me 35 km and the Billling process is not completed. Uhaul truck rental was by far the most stressful part of my moving experience.
Nicolas RWe arrange self check, arrive on time for the appointment time, the truck is there, we find the key box, but no keys to be found in the box… We had to spent close to 90 minutes in the office to see an employer who told us they don’t put the keys in the box for self check in pickup. What’s the point of self-check offering? Ridiculous management.

FELIX PWaited 2 hours in line to pick up our truck. There was one person at the cash and he did not serve anyone for 1 hour. Then his colleague opened a second cash and proceeded to pass people. The first employee managed to process 2 clients in 2 hours. This was the worst service I’ve ever seen.
Stefanos SIncompetent and lazy employee. I showed up and he said he did not have a van for me. Did not try to investigate further. In the end the person returned the van and left the keys in the van so U-Haul did not know the van was returned. But he refused to help beyond telling me there was No van. I waited 3 hours to get the van.

Joseph NLa réservation que j'avais placé depuis 3 mois a été annulée la journée avant mon déménagement a cause que je raportait le camion a un endroit différent. Mon camion a été donnée a une dame qui avait réservé une semaine avant la date mais qui ramenait le camion au même endroit. Imaginez le stress que ça peut causer la veille d'un déménagement quand toi et tes amis on prit congé et que tu doit payer 350$ de frais pour réserver l'ascenseur dans ton immeuble et que le prochain disponible spot est dans 3 semaines. J'ai du refaire 3h de route pour ramener le camion le lendemain à Montréal car c'était la seule façon qu'on me loue un camion . Avant de déplacer ou annuler une réservation, vous devriez vraiment contacter les clients pour connaître les repercussion sur le déplacement ou l'annulation de leur réservation. Aussi, vois devriez donner priorité aux gens qui réserve en premier et ne pas transférer leur camion a des réservation faites après eux. Heureusement, le personnel de la succursale Montréal Ouest étaient tous des gens géniaux et ils nous ont aider avec le problème et mon créditer 200$ sur mon coût total. Je remercie le jeune homme qui nous a aider.

DEBABRATA CWhen I entered the U-Haul office the two attendant's were already busy with one client each, however they did not acknowledge my presence. No smiles, no "we will be with you in a moment" at a certain moment the two clercks were talking with eachother about non related work subjects, they were clearly not in any hurry to serve me. After 15 minutes another employee walked in and acknowledged me with a smile. This is not my first time using the U-Haul services and it seems that they are never in a hurry or happy to see me nor serve me. I think that customer-employee professionalism needs to be instilled.
Abraham MWell, first of all they seemed to be very low staffed - only 2 persons for like 15 customers. We waited an hour to get our truck, and luckily it was ok. Two persons in front of us were waiting for 1.5 to 2.5 hours because their trucks didnt exist. Also, when I brang the truck back, it was after opening hours and I was told to go through the back alley so that the camera could see my plate, but the 10 persons before me chose to park their trucks in the alley... So I guess the return parameters were not explained very well...
Caroline MSame as previous comment, but at dropoff, because of the issue with the contract, I was assured I would get a phone call from a manager to discuss the contract before any charge was made to discuss the issues. Instead I just get an email receipt with additional charges and no phone call. I will never be using uhaul again and I will be telling everyone I know to use enterprise or other options.

Dalila sWe reserved a truck a month ago, and went for contact less pick up. Showed up at the location, was told the system was down and that that they’ve just been handing off trucks on a first come first serve basis. So there was no more 15 foot trucks available and they charged my credit card even though we had never received a truck. Had to call customer service for a refund and compensation. Very frustrating, and inconvenient for our moving day.

Peter SWe arrived 10 minutes before opening in anticipation that there would be many people racing to collect their rentals for they busy moving season. Pleasantly surprised, the doors were open and we entered to collect our rental. We were sternly told by the workers that they would not serve us before 7:00 a.m. We awkwardly stood there for ten minutes, waiting for the clock to strike 7:00. When finally served, the kiosk wasn't working correctly as the credit card machine wasn't correctly seated in its port. While staring at us waiting for their shift to start, they could have ensured that the machine was working correctly in anticipation of the rush.

Keith MAsked if I had anything else to do, confirmed that the drop off location was okay and wouldn’t be charged extra for the change since it was offered by the system. The manager of this location confirmed with was fine and no extra charges would apply. Arrived home 20 minutes later and was charged an extra 101$. The employees and manager were terrible.

It took over an hour just to pick up the vehicle, delaying the start of our move significantly. It is mind boggling that this location did not deem it wise to provide more staff on such a busy day.

There was only one guy, doing whatever he could to help customers. the line was piling up, at least 20 customers waiting. I understand that we were Saturday but they could have had at least 2 people to register people. The second guy (general manager) showed up at 10h30! When I complained, he didn't seem to understand why and didn't even care I think VERY BAD EXPERIENCE, NEVER AGAIN WILL I RENT FROM THIS LOCATION!!
Abdel MMy first experience with U-Haul was extremely disappointing. I reserved a storage unit with specific dimensions, only to be told upon arrival that the unit was unavailable. I don't understand why your system allowed me to reserve a unit that wasn't actually available, sent me an email confirming the reservation, or why I wasn't notified before arriving. The only alternative offered was a smaller unit at a higher price, and I was expected to pay the difference. It's unreasonable that your company's inability to provide the reserved unit became my financial burden. Because I had already arrived with movers who charge by the hour, I had no choice but to proceed. The process of creating a new contract for the smaller unit took an additional 30–45 minutes, resulting in extra moving costs while my movers waited. The only positive aspect of the experience was the moving team, who managed to fit all of my belongings into the smaller unit. Otherwise, the entire situation was a frustrating waste of time and money caused by poor inventory management and communication.

Julie RThe guys from the front desk were looking overwhelmed, complaining loud about some customers that hadn't sent the trucks back on time, and looking very frustrated making the service runs slower. Also I paid for mattresses and the carts for the furnitures but whenever I opened the back of the truck there was nothing there. I didn't wanna come back to the deposit so I didn't use those tools but paid for it.
Marcelo PFirst of all we had a reservation for Sunday 12:45pm for a 10 feet truck, when we arrived they told us that there was no truck even if we have made a reservation, they said there is only a 20 feet truck, so we ask if we can get it for the price of the 10feet because that was our reservation and that’s what we need, they said that it was impossible and even ask in front of us the other customers « who want a 20 feet truck » like we were crazy for thinking that, so we had to wait at least 1hour and half to have 15feet with the price of a 15 feet even if we reserved a 10 feet. The truck was clean and well maintained but that service just ruined the whole experience.
Hamza KOn m’avait conseillé d’acheter des km supplémentaires lors de la réservation à Montréal car ce serait moins chers que devoir les payer après et que les km excédentaires que j’achetais me seraient remboursés lors du retour du camion si non utilisés. Malheureusement quand j’ai retourné le camion, on m’a dit qu’on ne pouvait pas me rembourser ces km de trop que j’avais acheté.

Mustafa ZMy experience with Uhaul was one of the worst experience I've had with any company. Reservation a month before was fine. This is the last part that will be easy. I'm moving from Montreal to Magog so 2 days before move, drove my car to Magog to have my car there. I did this because I could reserved a truck accross the street from my appartment. I can see the truck everyday so I have no way to suspecting any trouble. A few days before, I downloaded the app to be able to pick up my truck. Tried longing it for 3 days, everytime I got a message saying ''Oops something went wrong, try again a bit later''. Didn't make to much of it. 24h hours before move I was in Magog getting ready to come back by bus for my move. 7am!!!!! I get a text someone will call you. Why would you text someone at 7am??? I get a call at 8am (so lost an hour of sleep for nothing). I answer the woman on the phone tells me of the bat, ''Ok closest truck available is in Ste-Catherine.'' Ste Catherine is accross the Mercier Bridge at peak rush hour and I have no car. This is impossible for me. I made all my arrangements for my move based on truck is a 1 min walk away. I cannot go and get the truck in the morning. Her answer is ''Ok, well we will cancel your reservation and give you 50$...'' I can't even describe to you how insulting this was to hear. Of course, I can't cancel, I have to move, I have no option. She also tells me ''This location has a truck that cannot move for one way trips.'' So this mean that at the moment of my reservation, UHaul knew my reservation was impossible and still let me do it and believe for a month that I was ok. Again, made all my plans with this in mind. Again arrogant woman goes ''Reservation are not guaranteed until we call'' You know what, it's true if you click on 4 different links you can find at some point that reservation is not guaranteed, on main page, there is no indication for that. You who are reading this. Do you take 2 hours of your time to read all the fine print of every reservation you make. This is what pisses me off the most. It could of all been fixed by a few lines of code. Block my reservation. Put in big red letters on my reservation page, reservation is not guaranteed, whatever.... Letting client think that all is good, when it was known that it was impossible. That is such a disrespect for your clients. I asked her to call me back in 10 min that I would try and do arrangement. Had to call my helpers, ask them to come 30 min later. Found another location that I could uber (extra charge for me). Again in rush hour but at least not crossing the bridge. 45 min later she hasn't called me back. Asked for a call back. The guy there was nice, transfered me to right place. Ended up on, what I think the same woman. Finished the reservation by changing pick up time. Then very politelly asked to talk to a manager. She tells me she will transfert me and then disconnected me. Called 2 more times to try and talk to manager. First one, when she asked why, told me that my location reservation problem is a very common issue (again, why have you not fixed this in your programing?!?!). She transferes me, again disconnected. Call again, this time he transfers me to custemer service, he hears my story, transfers me and this time to go further, I need to put in employee code. At this point just gave up. Next morning I go and get my truck in big rain. I have to wait a while because all 3 custemers in front of me are having trouble. Get my reservation done, girl tells me truck is by the wall or right up the hill. Perfect I go out, carrying to bundles of blanckets. Look for the truck, go around twice carrying my bundles (try carrying two of them in the rain), my truck is not there. I go back in. We end up finding the truck at the end of the storage courtyard, bin opened and trailer still attached. So there is no way this truck was cleaned and inspected. But at this point, I don't have time., She unpins the trailer while I run back for the blanckets I had dropped. Get in the truck, start moving to try and turn it around (because it was stuck in a dead end), right off the bat, I hear and exploding sound. Someone had placed a flower pot right in front of the wheel. No damage, I just left and did my move. Let me tell you this was a very bad start of my day. On a stressfull moving day, did not need to deal with this experience that was 100% caused by your company's neglect.

J’ai tout fait sur l’application pour éviter la file et j’ai tout de même attendu 20 minutes avant de recevoir ma clé. Au retour j’ai moi meme pris les photos, payé par Internet et les employés ont eu l’audace de me dire Que je n’avais pas laissé le camion au bon endroit. Alors qu’ils étaient 3 derrière le comptoir. Nous faisons donc tout par nous même et même si c’est le cas, les employés semblent peu reconnaissants et chialent contre les clients. Il me semble que de prendre les photos, stationner le camion, faire le paiement fait partie de leur travail.
Antoine CThe estimated amount of gas in the tank was less than stated on the receipt. I did not realize as my husband was driving and did not think to ask him to verify. As a result, we were charged for gas that wasn’t actually in the tank when we rented. As we did not have a photo, we paid. But, not cool

Pierre D | Overall ExperienceI have had some type of locker at this facility for about 10 years. I have seen a lot of staff go through this location. Most staff have been polite, helpful and provided good service. I find the present team very good, they were nice, kind, helpful, and we're doing their very best with the tools and knowledge they had. Several people went out of their way to be helpful and assist me in moving out, arranging u boxes etc... They are greatly appreciated. The manager in particular Yousra went out of her way to help above and beyond on several occasions. There has been some improvement overall in the areas that have been lacking in the past, but there is still need for better support for the staff to be able to do their jobs better. 1. It is still very difficult to reach an actual person at the office, and speak with someone if you have an actual concern that is relevant to that location. I know the staff are vety busy, and it is difficult to respond at times, but leaving messages also rarely results in a response. It took over 1 year to have an issue resolved that included compensation from insurance due to damage from an air conditioner leaking inside my locker. I was pleased with the quick and immediate response from the employee on duty when it was discovered and it happened, but the follow up to place the insurance claim and be compensated took over a year, with no one at the store knowing anything about the process, and great difficulty in connecting with management to get it remedied. I am glad it was finally completed but it took far too many " lost calls" in the process. 2. The high turnover of staff has been problematic from the start. Employees often only being there long enough for a long term storage renter to learn their name to be changed again. Each new staff member having to learn the process at the customer's expense. I am hoping that this present crew will be around for a while they seem.very good. 3. Please make sure your employees are given the proper knowledge of how the U Box system works, how customer's can communicate with UHaul when the packing is complete, be able to explain the process to clients. Everyone went out of their way to help but unfortunately they were not sure of what the answers were to my questions and after I was waiting on hold for 45 min. , they helped the best they could, which was much appreciated. There needs to be a more effective and easier way to communicate with management and other UHaul departments. 4. Although I do understand the reasoning behind the limited access hours to the indoor storage facility, I was very disappointed that this had been changed. I had originally paid extra to have extended access to the indoor facility which made things much easier to access my locker during evenings and holidays. Now that this service is no longer available, I found it more challenging to complete my tasks within the alloted time.

J'ai réservé un entrepôt 7pi x 14pi il y a 5 semaines et j'ai obtenu confirmation. Le jour d'emménager, on me dit que tout ce qu'il reste est un 5pi x 5pi. Il n'y a même pas la moitié de mes choses qui peut fitter à l'intérieur et ça me met évidemment dans le trouble. On ne m'a offert aucun autre dédommagement autre que de mettre mon nom sur une liste au cas où quelque chose se libérerait éventuellement...

Rental Process is cumbersome and too long especially if one's movers are waiting for the registration to be completed since the movers are being paid by the hour. This is not the fault of the staff but of the procedure. Perhaps most of the information can be gathered during reservation. (Booking)

It was absolutely not sufficient and when I inquired about renting another space i was told there were none available. As it is we have had to split the apartment storage which is not the best solution! The staff knowing this problem did not suggest any other solutions, offer to call up other locations for us, or make any accommodations. In addition the sign in procedure is very strange, using one keypad to log in and then another to open the door to the rental spaces. I'm not sure I could manage that trick again and it didn't even work the first time I tried it.
