The equipment was clean but something was wrong with tire balance or something and it hopped the whole time with and without the car being on it. It made terrible metal on metal slapping noise the whole time and I was grateful the trailer held together long enough to get where I was going.

When I made my reservation, I reserved both a truck and an appliance dolly because we were moving several heavy appliances and specifically needed the dolly for the move. However, when I arrived for pickup, I was told that appliance dollies are “first come, first serve” and that none were available. This was extremely frustrating because that is not how the reservation process is presented on your website. A reservation should mean that the equipment requested is set aside and available, not that it may or may not be there when I arrive. As a direct result of not having the appliance dolly we reserved, my husband had to move heavy appliances without the proper equipment and injured his back. This situation could have been avoided had the reserved equipment been available as promised. I am also very disappointed that although I initially reserved a truck at a location near my home, I was later required to travel approximately 40 miles to pick up the truck and then drive another 40 miles back home before even beginning our move. This added significant inconvenience, extra time, and unnecessary mileage to an already stressful moving day. Overall, this experience fell far below my expectations. Reserving equipment and then being told it is unavailable defeats the purpose of making a reservation in advance. I would appreciate a response regarding these issues and what U-Haul intends to do to address the inconvenience, additional travel, and injury risk caused by this situation.

MOUHAMADOU DI reserved for 9 AM pick up but moved to 4:45 PM. Hindered my plans for AM pick up. Then they scheduled my pick up at Salinas location which is 40 minutes out of my way and that was unacceptable. Then they spelled my last name wrong even after I called them to correct it. They are the only game in town so I couldn’t use anybody else because I would have.

Michael DI tried to get the truck with the app and that was very confusing because it asked for a reference lease. Something of that sort which is unacceptable when I’m at the facility trying to login to get the truck. I just had to go inside and the guy at the desk took care of it. This part of the app needs to be updated and removed. I absolutely will never try to use the app again because of this.
Peter BI wish I remembered the name of the individual that processed by truck return. He has helped me before on prior rentals. He's stellar - one of the best U-haul staff I've interacted with. He's quiet but very efficient, effective, and really gets the job done.

Richard GThe only concern was the engine light being on, and when I tried filling the tank, it literally overflowed before the gauge hit 3/4 a tank. One thing I will say is that the next time I return, I will search for Danny. Not only did he make sure everything on the list was accounted for, he walked out with me to inspect the truck, so I wouldn’t need to walk all the way back in if something was amiss. Of course, everything was perfect!
Michelle BI did have an issue when renting one of the trucks last week. The latch on the roll down back door was not functioning correctly. It opened up on the freeway!! I rent truck 2 -3 times a month to assist with my job so that was a problem. I was pulled over by CHP and they actually helped with securing the latch. I did call it in a reported it from the freeway. The employee was helpful but not able to actually help. I would like a refund maybe on my next rental

Fernando HMy comment is not about the place. It is about U-Haul processing of reservations.I had ordered an appliance dollie along with a 15' truck and moving blankets. My move required an appliance dollie (i.e. not a nice to have). When I arrived for pick-up, staff informed me that they didn't have any dollies, let alone an appliance dollie. I made a reservation for truck, dollie, and blankets. This felt like a breach of contract. I was under the impression that U-Haul would hold up its end of the agreement. And please, do NOT tell me that is covered somewhere in the contract, terms and conditions, etc. If it is, then you should let customers know as they're completing the reservation that the dollie is not available.

Theodore MDrop-off was quick & easy, & the staff was friendly. Unfortunately, I was charged an unexpected extra fee due to poor communication at the pickup location. While the staff explained it well, this should have been made clear upfront.
Breanna EI rented a 9" van and it was clean and a new vehicle. My only recommendation is to clean the windows before the next rental. I needed to clean the windshield and side windows before my trip. Overall, this U-haul location is a big and organized operation with a great lobby and packing merchandise. I was very impressed! Thank you!
Richard JI got charged a fee of $100 for cleaning of the unit but my use of it did not cause that. The exterior was already dirty and I had already found the cargo in need of a vacuum and I found a cigarette butt in the cabin and a hanger in the cargo area but although that didn't affect my necessities I still got hooked for the cleaning fee.
Luis PHad a bit of a glitch with the app and loading close out photos. Was able to call customer support who made it painless to correct. The U-Haul app definitely needs some work still however the solid customer support saved the experience. Was able to talk to a real person for help as well which was critical for this style of problem. AI 'agents' have lost my business twice just in the last few days because they couldn't solve the issue. It was a huge relief to not have to deal with one during a stressful time like moving.

Richard PWe rent from this location all the time! Occasionally, the trucks on the outside look pretty ragged. Our major complaint is the huge increase in mileage fees. We may have to start looking elsewhere.
