Absolute worst experience I’ve ever had with any company I’ve ever dealt with. Not even worth the time to write everything that went wrong, but let’s leave it with this - they like to blame you for their own mistakes and then claim you didn’t do something right. I’ve had to resort to disputing the charge with the credit card company because of how much I was overcharged for mileage I was not responsible for.

The truck I got literally felt like we were riding a horse. The staff at this location is always friendly and exceptionally good at what they do. I was supposed to be renting, based on my reservation, one specific truck but they had to switch it at the last second and were super helpful and fast. My son unfortunately found a half smoked joint wedged in the floor board sets when he leaned down to pick up my keys for me, so maybe tell the staff to just give those cabs a little extra looksie when people return them. Aside from that, keep up the great work!

Leave exterior directions for checking in without smartphone required. Trying to call U haul for directions and clarification was a nightmare of HOLD forever. TERRIBLE customer service.

Upon returning trailer 2 hours early, the attendant asked if I would be satisfied with an email receipt. It took almost 24 hours for that email to be received. I think that could be improved upon.

Charged for fuel after showing recipients for 2.5 gallons after using the van for fourteen miles. You people are thieves and should be charged with fraud!

I WAS TOLD I HAD UNTIL MIDNIGHT TO RETURN THE VEHICLE....RETURNED AT APPROX 11:30PM AND WAS DOUBLE CHARGED.

While I rented a dolly in College Station Texas for four days we had it for two days. I did not pick it up until the second day but yet they would not change my contract and they charged me for the earlier day. Then my son drove the truck and Dolly to the Kansas City area and I get a phone call from the U-Haul people in Shawnee mission asking if it would be turned in today I told them it was rented for four days and it would be there on time they said they just like to plan ahead and they wanted to know if it could be back today so they could read it tomorrow. I asked the woman who was very polite if I would get a discount for turning it in early so they could re-rent it for four more days at full price and she said no. My son went ahead and turned it in but I thought that was very unfair that you’re just double dipping getting one customer to pay for four days use it for two charge him for four , And then charge the new customer for four days when one of his days has actually been paid for by the previous. Bottom line it’s a pretty legitimate scam.

The name of the female manager escapes my memory at this moment, but she worked with me on a remedy to a poor inventory booking glitch.... no car trailers when I got there. At least she gave me a 6 hour rental for 24 hour price so I could milk the vehicle to it’s new location, ever so slowly.

Don't block off your lot for after-hours returns. Or if you do, please tell the customer ahead of time that the lot will not be open, and advise them where an appropriate space is to return the rental. The main gate was chained shut and the side entrance to the lot was blocked by a truck that staff had put there.

The customer service at this location is terrible. Long lines and long wait times each time I've rented equipment at this location. It took almost 30 minutes standing at counter to rent this trailer. Was in line 10 minutes for total time to rent of almost 40 minutes! Terrible! The young man who hooked up trailer was competent and quick. Counter help as slow and incompetent. This is what I experience each time I rent at the Metcalf location.

Stephen was super nice, but the systems are slow. There were 4 people in line and it took 45 minutes to finally get to a truck I had reserved online. The dolly I rented was poor. Wheel condition and didn’t roll easily. Truck was very clean, but really old. Time to check out was the biggest issue. In this day and age it shouldn’t take that long. When I returned the check in guy was friendly and fast.

The check out process was a joke. Only one of 4 terminals was in operation and the card reader was not working. A personal cell phone was used to photograph my DL in order to upload to the Uhaul site. Upon arrival about 7:20 I was 3rd in line. By the time two customers had been helped there was literally a lone out the door of about 12-15 waiting in line. The franchise owner was the only one working the desk. On the positive side the yard help was indeed helpful.

Pick up was pretty bad. I joked with friends about it being worse than the DMV. I picked up on a Sunday at 9am. I showed up at 8:45am and left at 10:15. The line was about 15 people back and there were several registers open. It seemed like they kept taking off and no one was solely dedicated to a register. So it felt like one slow person at a Walmart. When I got to the front one guy was bouncing back and forth and no one even acknowledged me. No “be right with you”. No “thanks for your patience”. Nothing! Not even a smile or eye contact. As a side note I ordered 2 dozen blankets and only found 6 when I unzipped the bag. Return was totally different! I returned it on a Wed around 8:30am. The first woman said I could leave so my wife could take me to my car and come back. She also said I could clean it out and avoid a clean up fee. When I returned around 9:15am, it was a gentleman who was also fantastic! He was kind, quick to speak to me and assess the truck. Those people should train the other people on customer service! I’m surprised to find such a drastic contrast at the same location.

uhaul moves my belongings from Maine to Kansas. Uhaul was very pleasant to work with and I was very pleased with their service.
