I only chose average because despite the equipment being fine - every time I have used U-haul, there has always been an issue. Usually I have trouble doing the online checkin and vehicle inspection, so I decided to do it at the counter. The employee found my reservation but it was not working. I wasted 30 minutes of the time I booked waiting for them to figure out computer problems that the manager told me "happen all the time" Nowhere am I ever compensated for all that time wasted and I had to rush my movers for the rest of the day.Shane Maxwell K.

I used the online/self-serve pickup to retrieve my van, and the web chat feature for communicating with u-haul customer service seemed a bit buggy. I would not see new messages unless I refreshed my web browser (safari on iphone) so that slowed the process down a bit as communication was somewhat broken. No big deal but heads up in case that's a bug other people are experiencing.Samuel H.
I used the mobile pickup. Picking up the rental was a huge hassle and took 20 minutes. I would have preferred doing most of those steps at home instead of in the parking lot.Alysha A.
I initially had a reservation for pickup on June 19th and drop off on June 20th. I received a call on the 18th informing me that my reservation had been cancelled, and that my two alternatives were either same day pickup and drop off at the above location, or a location on the south shore. I was only offered a six hour time slot that we tried our best to make, however I was moving off island, which I had already told the booking clerk when I picked up my rental, and we did not make it on time. I was also told the reservation was until 13:00, and then began receiving phone calls at 12:10 asking where my rental was. I chose this location closest to my move but the last minute time change the day before did not allow me enough time for the move I had initially booked.JONATHAN VIKTOR P.

Parking for customers so they can leave their car while they are using the rental truck. I saw only 5 spot of parking, taken of course. Also, when we do a reservation, please bring the truck in front ready to be taken and not let the customer go to the very back of the parking to take the rental truck. I love that the transaction is so easy, once we are done I just have to give back the key and that's it. No need to do inspection or sing anything. You already have our credit card number and you simply charge the rental. That was very nice, so quick. Never seen that somewhere else. Good job for that !ERIC B.

Within a couple of days loading the unit I found rat droppings everywhere and in and on everything... I commented it at checkout and it was not a surprise to the attendants. I also used 3 u-boxes during the same period... except for the moving helpers, which seemed to have no experience with uhaul and clients, the uboxes were clean. For the fuel related issues, it was not highlighted at all during the reservation. For the person like me using truck service for the first time, i didnt notice about fuel cost at all during reservation. Also i saw it was mentioned for those vehicles which fule is less than 1/4 before pickup, customer is responsible for self refuling otherwise 30$ service would be charged. The level of fuel is random for different cars and im not liable to choose the car with fule gauge more than 1/4 , maybe i had not considered the time needed for refuling during reservation(because i didnt know about this rule of being responsible for less than 1/4 of tank) and my budget doesnt let me either to pay extra 30$ as service fee. Also when i wanted to extend the time, it was not possible because of other customer's reservation after my timeslot. My reservation (that was booked way in advance) was cancelled at the very last minute (a day before the intended pick-up) because a representative failed to call me to confirm my reservation while I was waiting for the phone call all day. I had the self pickup option enabled but on the location, it didn't show in my dashboard. I tried getting help from the chat service and the phone line and they both proved useless. We wanted to empty the sotrage but the U-Haul locker did not work even though we had the righ key. After the staff help, we had to wait 2 hours for a technician to come, after we had to negociate hard for someone to cut the locker as we were told initially to come back in the morning whereas we rented a car for this and needed the packages out on this day. All in all we had our packages out but the manager was not friendly and the customer service was from this person was not professionnal. Système de carte d'accès sophistiqué et très informatisé mais J'ai dû m'ajuster avec quelques difficultés lors de ma première utilisation autonome. Il serait souhaitable de remettre à chaque nouveau client un document plus précis sur le 'ou, quand comment' de chaque étape (.Carte d'accès, Check-in initial, locations des points d'accès, ascenseurs spécifiques, , limite des déplacements, accès au débarcadère et check=out.) La première carte d'accès qu'on m’a remise était au nom d'un ancien client. Je n'aime pas être obligé de NE PAS prendre mon propre cadenas et être obligé d'acheter un cadenas de plus de $10. Sinon le personnel est poli, acceuillant.et serviable. The new elevator to the second floor was non functional the day I rented my unit and as such had to move my things into a unit on the 3rd floor and wait for the following day to transfer my contract to a unit in the 2nd floor and move all my things again. Then on 2 separate occasions, the same elevator was not working when I needed to get things from my storage. Last week, I had to get a 300lbs piece of equipment out on a dolly from the emergency stairs because the elevator was broken again. I arrived at 11am and was told the elevator wasn't working. I left my number and asked to be called with an update and waited til 330pm before calling back and being told the elevator would not be fixed that day. I wasted half a day waiting and then had no choice but to move the equipment down the stairs in my own. I don't have complaints about the staff but my unit has a part of the it being taken up by a column and the unit is not discounted for the lost space, which I accepted. However, to arrive there to recooperate items and not being able to, on account of the elevator not working on more than one occasion, makes no sense. Further, I asked that management contact me regarding this and no one bothered calling. I suffice to say, I emptied my unit and didn't bother renewing it.haik m. | Overall Experience

Thé receptionist during our first checking was not helpful. She was tired or upset, mumbling something and couldn’t even answer a basic questions as that was was our first experience with U-Haul. In the end The on floor guy answered everything and told her who to ask and what to do. It was a bit weird communication experience and felt like we owe something to her or disturb her. I had originally booked my storage with public storage and wish I never switched. Uhaul advertises a free month so I took it. I called to make sure that it was real, the uhaul employees assured me that it was and they saw my location that was booked for me when I put in my address. When I arrived onsite they charged me. Extremely shady business I can’t believe that’s legal. At this point what could I do? I canceled with my other storage and I was already there with all my stuff. U-Haul Cite 2000 est toujours ma place de choix pour l'entreposage à Montréal. Ce n'est pas la première fois que j'utilisais cet entreposage et il est certain que je vais le réutiliser pour mes besoins d'entreposage futurs. Le personnel est toujours coopératif et le building est bien aménagé avec ses grands ascenseurs et le quai de chargement. Ils ont pris plus de temps que prévu et nous avons réalisé à la fin de ce déménagement que le loquet pour fermer un des deux entrepôts choisis ne fermait pas correctement. (N.B. Nous avions réservé les espaces 4002 et 4035). Selon l''employé de U HAUL MONTRÉAL qui est venu à notre demande constater les dégâts, cela n'avait pu être fait que très récemment. Cet employé qu'il faut féliciter a tenu à fixer temporairement le loquet pour que personne d'autre que nous ne puisse avoir accès à cet entrepôt. Quoi qu'il en soit, le superviseur des deux déménageurs joint par téléphone a assuré mon épouse Joëlle que nous n'aurions pas à payer plus que les deux heures convenues et qu'il verrait à régler cette question d'horaire avec les deux employés en question. I got an excellent service from the first call to get information to the last day. Karine Mirambeau and Pablo from the desk office in Montreal-Notre-Dame were very helpfull in person & on email, as it was so complicated to reach U-Haul office in Montreal on the phone from Europe. They have been particularly efficient to solve my extension during the confinement, as I couldn't come to do it. I would definitively use U-Haul storage on Notre-Dame in Montreal again, and recommend it! My only reserve in the overwhole expérience is about reaching the specific storage office by phone from abroad: I had to give up to do so, after 20 to 30 minutes waiting. The only concern I have with Uhaul is that on the last month I just used my storage facility for 3 days, but the person that works for you guys tell me that because of the policy of the company they don’t give me back the rest of the money for the days I didn’t used the storage. The main point of my negative rate it's your policy of payment of an entire month when I use it only for two days (when you move out). You should give people a credit that they can use for the next Uhaul location. With that approach you will be sure to have this client back when he needs a location and you will give a better experience. Clients like to pay for a service/product. The staff is unfriendly at most. There is a constant weird smell that got into all my things and I found dead bugs in my sofas and furniture.
