Well since nobody offered me any compensation for screwing up my moving schedule twice, some sort of compensation would be a start.AARON W.
It really has nothing to do with the pickup location, the problem is with Uhaul itself. I used and paid for a reserved trailer to be there waiting for me a few days ahead. I had to drive close to a thousand miles to get there. U-haul has in their fine print a statement that says basically that they do not guarantee any thing, until one of there representatives calls you back. They were suppose to call back on a thursday by 6 pm, my drive day. On friday morning at 7 am I get a text that says I would have to pick up at a different location, the other side of town, Auston,Tx. Come to find out the location that they allowed me to pick in Austin on my reservation did not even handle trailer rentals, which is what I needed. But, it did allow me to reserve one and take all my info and get me committed to them, ended up costing me 2 extra hours of time and paying movers to stand around and do very little. Also, I ended up driving by a U-haul facility very close to where I was moving from that had trailers, but they did not accomodate me with an easier change, they did not have to drive across Austin twice, I did. I forgot to mention I had bought moving supply materials on line from the 1st store and had to pick it up from there. This is the very last time I will ever use U-haul for anything. The time before that at their drop off location the laqdy on duty did not know how to use the computer program to check me in, she did however walk out to the trailer and look at it and talk to the manager on the phone about it. In all the confusion I failed to get a receipt (hard copy) and the woman did not email one either. So for the next 2 days I received phone calls from them wanting to know what I did with their trailer, they could not find it. Even though the same woman that checked me in was there helping the manager she could not remember. It escalated to the point I felt like I was being excused of stealing the trailer. I called U-haul headquarters and filed a complaint to stop the harassment, the lady that took the call, one of her first comments was why don't they check their video camera files to see. I was wondering the same, Then I remember they pobably did not know how to work them either.BRUCE H.

When we arrived, the place was packed with people getting equipment so I understand they were busy. However, we had a reservation and used the mobile pick up option. Our truck hadn't been cleaned from the previous use. Thankfully it wasn't too dirty.Morgan S.

I've never experienced a more unprofessional â€œManagerâ€ (if you can even call him that) in my life thus far. I had a Ubox shipped across country, received confirmation it was at this location and even reserved a truck at this location to pick it up with. Upon my arrival for scheduled pick up, I was told the Ubox had been moved to a different location (I had no idea and was never notified) and the â€œmanagerâ€ said it was â€œyour (my) problemâ€ and did nothing else to remedy his locations error. I have time stamped screenshots to prove it was at this location and a reserved truck that obviously supports the phone conversation to schedule this pick up. My moving day has now turned in to multiple and uhaul or it's representatives have yet to take responsibility for their failings. I don't get to pass the buck at my job but from my experience this seems to be a company culture issue or this is a â€œbad appleâ€ and then I look forward to a remedy to this inconvenience and a report the the â€œmanagerâ€ was reprimanded and will be calling to apologize or will be terminated. I initially booked the truck rental via the truck share 24/7 option. It ended up not being as convenient as I would've hoped. Once I was approved, I was directed inside to pick up the keys at the store. The system was not linking fast enough with the app and they couldn't find my reservation. Fortunately the associate was kind enough to expedite it manually. 30-45 mins later I had my truck but had I known the app feature was going to delay me that much I would've skipped it. Poor customer service all the way around. Given the choice, I would choose to never interact with the staff at this site again. Based on the way they interacted with not only me, but other customers as well, it seems in their eyes, they have no obligation to provide any level of customer service. Concerning the equipment, the first van I was given showed 0% oil life so I asked for a different one. The second one had one tire that was severely under inflated, and not wanting to deal with the staff any longer, I just decided I would take it to a gas station to put air in the tire. Turns out, the tire had a slow leak so I had to go to the gas station twice a day to keep the PSI at the proper level. I needed to be focused on moving, not whether or not my U-HAUL was going to get a flat. Overall, two thumbs down.CHRISTOPHER G.

I had already signed in online and still had to wait in line for 45 mins. Also when returning the truck, I asked if there was any way I could be reimbursed for the half of tank of gas that I used and they truck checker said "No, but I can give you a fist bump." As if a fist bump is equivalent to the $60 I didn't need to spend. They literally promise terrible gas mileage with the 26' truck in promos, about 10mpg. First comment to me at this location was, Your not scheduled to return here you will pay an extra $125.00 to do so. The paperwork was wrong from y'all not me. After waiting 30 minutes they cleared it up. Every visit to 3 location was very long. I should not have to spend 30 to 1 hour to drop or pick. With no other customers it's to slow. I've used this location before, but right before the pandemic, summer of 2019, I moved, not renewing apartment lease because my Dad was dying, left town. Then, car broke down, traded it in fast. So busy, frustrated & exhausted. I had to store all my belongings. No full-time job after returning from Dad's funeral. Someone went in my unit, stole an item that I know it wasn't me. Only I have the key and no one else. Rented for 2 years because I had no home of my own. Whoever is going around the units sneaking around when manager is gone stealing from the ones stored for so long should know I found out because I'm very particular of how I preserve my belongings. The item was permanently tied in knots with a large item because I wanted it there always!!! My item was cut and yanked off by someone. From the booking agent ignoring my location request (sent me to a different location than what I asked for even after I double checked with her) to the terrible experience during pickup of my equipment (made me even more late altogether). The lady was rude for 1 secondly she charged my debit card and then turned around and said she didn't even though I was merely showing her my account transactions on my phone that had just come through stating that U-Haul had a pending transaction for $105 and demanded that she was correct and she did not charge my card. Then she makes me pay the fee all over again in cash... on top of all that the truck we got needed serious engine work it sounded like it was going to fall apart and then didn't want to start again when we're at our location I tried to call for roadside assistance and it was going to be two hours before they were able to get there to help us get it started. I truly appreciated the climate control. Stored wooden furniture for a little over a year and was in the same condition I put it in as. Facility was always clean and every staff member from office to personnel in the halls was always friendly and happy to help with anything, the few time I had to ask. It was confusing trying to figure out where to drop off the rental... I pulled up to three different areas of the business trying to get help. One employee yelled at me through the windshield to "WAKE UP." Super helpful! The next employee barked at me to pull the truck around back where I finally saw where to leave the equipment. Maria was very helpful! I would recommend her to a friend. However, this is the second time U-haul has not had the dollies I requested. This reservation was done in advance. It would've been nice if Uhaul could have found a way to find dollies from another store and had them ready. Please don't offer the equipment if you don't have it. It's very disappointing and inconsiderate. Customers depend on you. Don't offer services or tools if you can't supply them. Imagine going to your favorite hamburger place and being told there are no hamburgers because they ran out of hamburger buns.DORIS E.
Your mobile site AND your website on my laptop were not usable when I dropped this trailer off. I ended up texting photos of the drop-off on the text thread that Uhaul had been sending me. Charging me a $20.00 fee for the after-hours drop off is an absolute slap in the face. There was no one there to assist me and it cost Uhaul nothing for me to leave the trailer in the designated return area. You should have paid me $20.00 for doing the work for your people. That is a ridiculous, and unnecessary nickel and dime fee that you stab your customers for. I will definitely look to your competitors before I rent from Uhaul again. I promise you that.Michael H.

We made an appointment for 10:00AM and had to wait over 20 minutes. I understand that Saturdays are busy, but we did not expect to wait that long since we had an appointment. The mileage shown on the odometer was not the same as the paperwork (off my 17 miles) so we uploaded a photo of the actual mileage and input the actual mileage. When we returned the truck a very rude worker told us we drove it 31 miles. We knew that wasn't true and told him about the discrepancy, but he said the upload wasn't approved and we should have gone inside to tell a clerk. How the hell would we know to do that when the check-in process told us, "Verify Equipment Complete. You denied some of the photos/equipment info. Any new images are being reviewed." I have a screen shot of that section of the verify equipment screen. He did take off $15.00 so we ended up paying exactly what we should have for the mileage we actually drove. He was extremely rude and for that reason, I would not recommend this place to anyone else. The gal who helped us at the check-in counter was extremely polite and helpful, so that's why I gave an overall review of Average. We won't come back here to rent a truck when we move next year.KELLY H.

The damage to the front bumper had nothing been noted. It was extremely obvious and significant. Feel like someone should do more than just hand over keys. Maybe spend time helping adjust mirrors. I had to go back in bc I could but get them to budge. Also make habit of looking in back of truck. There was a surprise in the truck today that we only found because the uhaul person was putting blankets in there. Many aspects of the rental process were great. We have used this facility for years but couldn't wait to move out. Staff are nice, but management is totally unhelpful. We paid for extra hours access but several times weren't able to get in. Though our storage units were never bothered, the building security was not secure. I would NOT recommend single women use or access this facility. The automatic front doors are open to the general public all day during business hours despite the fact that it is described as a "secure" facility. I inquired about why a code was not necessary and why it wasn't locked during the day, and I was told by management that it was "public." This is simply not true: I paid significant amounts of rent monthly to use it ($350 per month for two 10x10 units for years) and random passersby do not pay a dime; therefore, they should not have the same access as I do, and this certainly lowers the level of security. On several occasions, I had uncomfortable moments at this facility when transient men entered the building; they made lewd comments and drove back and forth on their bikes in front of the building, and as I was going in and out and would enter the front doors with their bikes to use the bathroom. The bathroom (on the first floor) was treated as public, rather than reserved for renters. Additionally, during COVID, the mask mandate was not enforced here.corrine s. | Overall Experience

Staff was rude and disrespectful when we set off the alarm. I explained we had only been there twice because we needed to store my daughter's items for college during the pandemic. BOTH experiences were awful. The first visit we were given the wrong codes which set off the alarm (not our fault) and the second time was purely accidental. The m staff member over the intercom was disrespectful and condescending. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. People who need a storage facility are generally in some form of transition. Manager was quite discourteous from the very beginning. I incurred a late fee at the very beginning of the pandemic after losing my job. He refunded my late fee, however, he was very unkind and and condescending. He expressed no empathy whatsoever and stated as long as I had the unit he would never refund another late fee. In October, the keycard machine wasn’t working one night and a line of people had gathered and were trying to swipe in. I called the after hours number and it was the same unpleasant manager. Still discourteous. Still unhelpful. I hope that staff realize that moving into a storage unit can be a very low point in ones life, particularly after a job loss related to Novel Coronavirus. Thanks to Uhaull, I was able to store many items that freed my apt from clutter. Now that I have a larger dwelling and more space, I no longer need uhauls services. The only issue I had was the yearly price hike Uhaul charged to keep the storage space in the Somewhat 3 years I used their services. Shame on the general manager, he was too tired to answer the phone after hours and the only time he did, he was rude, definitely no customer service nor managerial skills, and on top of that, rip offs. We only used the storage half of the month and no refund, yet you are sending this survey and a final receipt meaning that we are not using the storage, I can almost guarantee that it will be rented to somebody else, so you are double dipping on the rent. I will make sure to let everybody know what a bad service you provide, and advise them to give their business to a place that values customers and not to a place where the "after hours" service is not provided because the general manager is too tired to even pick up the phone, that is why even the customer service agent kept calling him and the general manager never picked up the phone, shame, shame, shame.marko p. | Overall Experience

When I was checking in I was returning my Uhaul truck and the person who was supposed to help me park it was so rude. I couldn't maneuver the truck because I'm not used to driving such a big vehicle so I asked him to help me and he refused, calling me a homophobic slur and saying I was stupid. I then went to ask the other person working outside to help and he yelled at me telling me I'm a big boy and can drive the vehicle by myself, which I couldn't. I went to the manager to tell him and he brushed it off like it was no big deal, and told me that he would do nothing about it. I will NEVER give my money to this UHaul location again knowing they are anti LGBTQ+ and just flat out rude. Been using UHaul for years and this is the only location I have ever had issues with. The facility itself was great. Clean. The only feedback I can give was that anytime I called over the past two years no one was ever available from that location and no one from that location answered the phone. This was frustrating because the only way to talk to someone there was to got physically to the location, wait on a long line of people who were renting trucks, and then my matter could be handled. This part was very inconvenient when I just had a basic question or need. That would be feedback that I would have to give.
