I don't have enough experience to compare but the help to get the truck and trailer I needed at the DC location was exceptional, because I underestimated the size of truck I needed, I rented a trailer later in the day. Two contracts. I called the 800 number to return all equipment at one location, the helpdesk was exceptional, taking care of my needs in 5 or 6 minutes! Every person I worked with for this event are the kind of people I want working for me. Professional, knowledgeable and focused on customer satisfaction. I am very happy with my experience! ThÃ© people that worked there were wonderful. However my reservation was lost and had to drive around the whole city to get the part I needed. They then couldn't do the wiring in time to meet my needs even though I had reserved several weeks in advance. dee helped me find a cost effective solution to which I was grateful. Overall, the people were great but the experience was terrible. Also very annoying that you can't contact stores directly, I always get routed to HQ.JULIA R.

Upon getting into the Can there was a bad smell which as the time went by the smell got worse upon opening the back there was a bag tied to the rails of the Can which seems to have contained fesses and urine discarded with some type of clothing. There was some trash in the back of the uhaul when I picked it up, also it smelled strongly of body odor like someone had been living in there/camping out in there (in the back storage part, not the front seat part). The staff at the Bladensburg Road Washington DC location were phenomenal!!! From the moment I arrived the young man that helped me had the type of customer service that is unfortunately not common anymore. He was pleasant, polite, and professional. I also observed patiently helping a senior couple and a woman where English was her second language. EXCELLENT SERVICE. Unfortunately, I did not get the truck back on time, but the woman that called me was super accommodating yet firm. I was embarrassed by the lack of time management and missing my time commitment. However, she did what she could while still meeting the needs of her business. They were awesome! Thank you Uhaul.Michelle M.

I'm quoted one price when I reserve , then it's another price when I go pick up , and again another price when I drop off. My initial interactions with the staff were exceptionally good. The day of my pick up of the trailer went very well and the staff even helped me with an issue we found with my car. The close of the first day went smooth as well. HOWEVER, the beginning of the second day gave me cause to call upon much of my leadership and customer relationship training. Dealing with the bearded fat guy wearing the floppy hat, was exceptionally bad. I would have walked out and found another location, if I did not have your trailer and had to move all of the "stuff" on the trailer to a pickup truck. The customer service experience of returning the pickup truck was poor to fair. The Bladensburg location is perfect for my occasional need to rent equipment. It is sad that some of your staff "suck" at customer relations.Arnold M.

I rented a 10â€ U-Haul moving rental truck from the Bladensburg location which was heavily roach infested in both the cargo and incab department of the vehicle I have both actual video recordings and pictures of the infestation. My biggest concern was that my belongings would be infested by the pest I had to shake my items out before moving it into my home this is completely unacceptable I would like to file a formal complaint! I was also Overcharged for the expenses of the rental truck I returned the vehicle at the same fuel odometer reading with pictures however I was charged a fuel fee I called in advance to have my rental duration time extended I would like a full reimbursement for my rental returnDionne M.

The online validation process is unacceptable. It makes zero sense to have to list another person prior to renting a truck. I lost 30 minutes waiting for the process to complete. Rental car companies do not do this. Also, I was scheduled to have a van that was just sold. Somehow, it was still in inventory for rent. While the outdoor staff was friendly and helpful, the indoor staff was rude and dismissive of customer concerns. If it weren't for the outdoor staff, this rating would've been lower. I do not plan on ever renting from Uhaul again. If so, I'd avoid this location.DALE H.

Its a disgrace that you are charged $132.50 for cleaning. The cargo van i had was returned with a lil dirt/dust in back but definitely not a cleaning costing $132.50....This is ridiculous and I will fight it through my bank. There isn't even a note to say why this amount was charged. Just taking money from customers and not explanation. This is theftColin L.
This location regularly only has one person working for checkout. Which means there is almost always a really long lime. I waited an hour to be able to check out my vehicle. Because I complained to the woman working the counter she gave me the van at the very back of the row instead of the one closest. Really poor customer service.Mazi M.
