The location was less well organized than other centers I have visited and the staff a bit less professional but still they were polite and got the job done with no real hassles. The office was very shabby and had a scattered disorganized appearance but the representative was knowledgeable and the lot hand checked out the equipment thoroughly. So I would say, the staff was good, the location and feel, kind of sketchy.

The attendants were excellent. The location was understaffed. The check in process took a long time because only one person was available to help, and there was a customer with problems. The dolly I reserved was unavailable AND WAS NOT REFUNDED. The van I reserved would not start. I was given an older model van that stank and was dirty. That van showed an urgent system service alert that had me returning to the uhaul location only to learn it wasnt in fact urgent. The whole process took 2.5 hours causing me to have to reschedule my onsite help, pet sitter, and resulted in an empty trip to/from my new home (in my car) to meet a technician appointment because I didnt have time to load the van.

The lady that assisted me on Sunday August 23, 2026 was professional, respectful, and extremely knowledgeable of her jobs. She should be cited as employee of the year since she is capable of performing multiple tasks while still serving customers in a professional and compassionate manner.

Well, was 1st scheduled to pick up truck at 3355C Benning Road, N.E. Arrived there with no way to gain access to the truck in a locked fence area. Called U-haul and picked up a truck from another location.

I was charged a cleaning fee after being asked to clean the the truck to avoid the fee and was charged a fee after being told everything was fine after I finished the cleaning. I’m requesting a refund and an apology.

The office was woefully understaffed to meet customer need, Everything cannot always be done online. The employees seemed to be doing their best. The vehicle was clean, but had a low tire pressure warning light on when I picked it up. Any lukewarm recommendation is due mostly to the convenient location. There is not much competition for the very short haul need.

We had a great experience at our pick up location. The manager and another staff member went out of their way to collect a truck from another location because trucks were being returned late And there wasn’t one available for us. That is great service!

The digital experience using the website to reserve the truck was awful and required so much time to decline so many things I didn't want. In the store, I had to use the employee's phone because apparently it is impossible to use Uhaul without their app or your location enabled on your phone, which didn't work on mine. And when we dropped the truck off, there was no one in the store, and there were several people waiting for a long time. Outside there was an employee who yelled at everyone who was asking for something to use the app. There was no way to have a conversation. The return website told us to put keys in a lockbox, which we saw nowhere, and seemed to be geared toward after hours drop offs. I've used Uhaul a number of times over a number of years, and this was the worst customer experience I have ever had. I will be looking around for other companies with actual employees providing assistance to customers next time I need to rent a truck.

I dropped off my rental after hours. It was fine, but the lot was extremely crowded. No complaints on the drop off location. They processed my drop off and provided my final receipt the next day, which was good.

The site was small for the number of rental trucks and trailers in their current possession. Staff was helpful in getting equipment checked in and unhooked(trailer)

We dropped off truck after hours, but the drop off was seamless. No personnel was present. It was tricky pulling into the driveway because of the way a U-Haul truck was parked. We had to use navigation to find the spot. Not too much light in the parking area. My son and I were able to use the QR code and picked a spot in the lane to park. Good thing we did, before we left, someone came in the same driveway with a much larger U-Haul. It took them some tries before they got into the parking lot. Thanks for a smooth usage of the truck; pick-up and drop-off.

The Van I rented was strong, sturdy and had lots of space. The staff was comprised of young, intelligent, polite and fast moving professionals. I would gladly refer my friends and family in DC to this U Haul location. The experience was great ! Thank you U Haul !

The employee was on his own and they were very busy. He could’ve used some more support and they were having a lot of technical issues with the computer system so the pick up process was extremely slow took about 45 minutes.

I think upgrading your system would go a long way toward improving the overall customer experience, and it would make things much easier for your employees as well. The system was having a lot of issues, and your staff had to rely on an incredible amount of patience, professionalism, and courtesy to keep everything running. Some customers were understandably frustrated, and the line continued to grow, but your team handled the situation beautifully by guiding people through the self-service checkout process and keeping everyone informed. I especially want to recognize Christian. Whatever you do, make sure that man gets a promotion or some type of bonus. He was absolutely outstanding. From the moment I arrived until I returned the truck, he was constantly stepping in to help his coworkers whenever they needed assistance. He was checking on the trucks, welcoming customers as they walked in, assisting at the counter, and somehow still managed to remain calm, positive, and smiling throughout it all. His professionalism and work ethic were truly impressive. There was another young man working alongside him whose name I unfortunately don’t remember, but he was wonderful as well. The two of them worked the counter together, and it was clear they were doing everything they could despite the technical issues. I know it took a tremendous amount of patience and composure to get through that morning, and they both deserve recognition for the exceptional customer service they provided.

It was a busy day with a lot of customers with a lot of needs. The staff managed to keep everything calm and friendly while being direct with customers as needed to stay in control. I was impressed by how the staff handled it. And grateful for the friendly and helpful staff who offered to help with random things like opening the truck's back door when my hands were full.

I booked over the phone and was ensured that the driver wouldn't need a card upon pick up. This was not the case. The driver had to pay with his own card, completely ruining our trust and the process. Terrible terrible terrible.

I am highly disappointed with Uhaul. My rental was absolutely a disgrace; the a/c did not work on one of the hottest days of the week, upon return I observed that one of the front headlights were off and during the ride, it appeared that the shock absorber was bad, my furniture was bounced around more than it should. The service maintenance sensor light was on the whole time. I am a regular customer but never been so disappointed than I was with this rental.

Everet was great and needs to be promoted to regional. Everet was able to assist in my dire need of help when the U-Haul location in SW assigned me a storage unit that’s was inaccessible and the location didn’t have any other storage options to offer. The SW location then told me to find another storage and refused to provide assistance.

My entire experience was wonderful. Everything worked perfectly from the time I picked up the truck until the time I loaded my possessions in the storage facility. Marcellla Jones was extremely helpful in ensuring that I got the right equipment for my move. Amber Hicks was extremely graceful and respectful in ensuring that my possessions were stored properly. This was a hectic day and it could have been very stressful but because of the professionalism, kindness and can do attitude of the entire staff the day ended peaceful and joyful!

I was working with an employee who had not yet done a storage unit rental so we needed the manager's assistance, there were some technical difficulties uploading my ID , but I had the time to spare and patience for us to work through the process. I thoroughly enjoyed the managers and employees personalities and had an excellent experience!

The proffesionalism and kindness of the staff varied based on their mood. Getting started was a nightmare yet pressed for time I stayed there. The storage units there are the back halves of older 10ft trucks placed side by side. Being kept outside I should have been able to have 24 access. I am sure the manager tried her best but this location was the location for extra trucks. There is no customer parking available yet they managed to fill every inch with a truck. First few times I had to request to have a truck removed from infront of my storage unit. After that, they avoided parking one infront of my unit. I made it a point to have everyting out within my 30 days. I refused to pay close to $200.00 a month with the service and inconvenience I was put thru. My leaving seemed to have made everyone happy including myself. Again, I am sure the manager did her best. The individual that opened my account was the worst. She showed no signs of wanting to help me. But had no issues helping others that came in after me. I wanted to F******** scream. The guys at this location seemed much more accomidating, friendlier, and very helpful I wish I had gotten names. Not that it matters I hope to never have to go back there again.
